Chapter Text

"If Maman were a Pokémon, which pokeball would you use to catch her?"

That question threw her off, of all the things Koharu has asked so far, this one, was especially funny and troublesome. Why troublesome? Well, firsthand Maya had to categorize her beloved wife, which type of Pokémon would she be? Fire? Lighting? Psychic? Electric?

She wasn't a Togepi for sure.

Then, Maya would have to stablish herself as a Pokémon too. And she didn't have anything against being one, but it kinda sucks because she has thought of herself as a trainer who has won the leagues pretty quite often.

She has won in every Nintendo game, why would it be different if they were real?

"That's a tough one." Claudine chuckled at Koharu's side, she rested her head on Maya's extended arm in the couch. "I'm waiting to hear the answer."

"A Master ball. It would be a guaranteed catch, dear." Maya whispered, thoughtful. She smiled at them, nonetheless, it didn't actually matter which kind of Pokémon Claudine were, she knew for a fact it was going to be difficult.  From her experience through the years, the difficult times they faced together and the outcome of their relationship... Yes, a Masterball fitted with Claudine. "Your Maman isn't the best at showing her feelings as they are. You know what a Tsundere is, Koharu?"
Claudine bit Maya's hand, the brunette chuckled at such behavior on her wife.

"Maman, what about Mommy? Would you use a masterball to catch her too?" Koharu asked, after nodding at Maya's words.

"Oh no, your mommy was quite easy to catch at first." Claudine chuckled, mocking Maya's puppy attitude at Seisho. "Though, I would say she might go out of the pokeball to be around just as Pikachu does with Ash. Pikachu is adorable, your mother on the other hand..."

Maya couldn't stop herself from smiling. There Claudine was, doing the same thing, calling her names while blushing.

"A common pokeball then?"

Claudine huffed, that wasn't completely true. Maya wasn't that easy to catch either. But if her circumstances were different at the time, Claudine knew Maya would have accepted to come with her without any resistance. And there wouldn't be any need to use a pokeball to begin with.

Claudine felt Maya's fingers toying with the hair of her neck, a dumb smile on her face.

Koharu's expecting blue eyes were on her, waiting to hear an answer that might satisfy her own thoughts.

"Uhg, yeah I would use a masterball... to keep her."

Koharu nodded. Watching the new episode streaming in the television.

"It's interesting, I will ask Hisame later which pokeball would she use to catch me." Koharu mumbled, taking a few sweets from the bowl on her lap.

Maya and Claudine both looked at each other startled, what was Koharu thinking about? Koharu was just a seven year old, in Claudine's mind, she was battling herself into stopping herself from asking her little girl what she meant. Maya on the other side, had a smirk. Her amethyst eyes were shining with pride.

Claudine kissed her hand to catch her attention. Maya's eyes were on her in a heartbeat.

"What's on your mind?" She mouthed, without really saying anything. Koharu didn't need to hear their doubts at the moment.

Maya laughed softly.

"I remembered I found the love of my life at her age." And then she shot her that dumb smile again. Claudine blushed furiously, how didn't she think Maya would say something like that! "The difference is, I saw her on a commercial... Koharu is lucky. That's what I'm thinking."

"Maya, she's just our baby girl. She's seven."  Claudine whispered, she didn't find the situation, that endearing as Maya. What if Koharu was just referring to Hisame because she was one of her best friends?

Maybe, they as her mothers were reading too much into it.

"Say, little duck. Why would Hisame-san catch you?" Maya asked, decided to prove a point to her wife.

The subdtle red color on the tip of her ears confirmed what Maya was suspecting. Claudine rolled her eyes and sighed.

"I'm.. Umm... I guess I would like to be cached by her, since she's a caring friend." Koharu managed to answer, not really understanding why did Maya asked her that.

"That's okay." Claudine smiled at Koharu. Patting her black hair. Koharu smiled too, happy to spend time with her moms, watching one of her favorite TV show.

Maya lifted one of her eyebrows, a smug smile on her lips. Claudine groaned, once infuriating, always infuriating. Maya never changed. She didn't want to give Maya the pleasure of accepting her point, so Claudine decided to rest her head against Maya's arm and let her spoil her silently. Ignoring her.

Koharu kept on munching her sweets, she was used to spending time with one of them, it was rare to have them both at the same time since they were busy actresses. So she was enjoying it a lot.

If her mothers were trainers, Claudine for sure was going to have a Growlithe and some other fire Pokémon, she would want to have variety to fight. Maya, was easier, all kind of flying Pokémon. And some like Piplup. It didn't matter their type, generation or power.

Also, she wished she had a Ninetales and a Swanna. Somehow, she related both of her moms with each of those Pokémon.

Koharu stopped by a second, to glance at both of her mothers.

She had them!
