Chapter Text
“—ROOFTOP! ROOFTOP! ROOF—” Oboro and Hizashi chanted.
Shouta rolled his eyes as he climbed the stairs. “If you guys keep shouting we’re going to get caught.”
“Rooftop! Rooftop!” They whispered.
Oboro ran ahead, bursting through the door. “Ah! Smell the fresh illegal air!”
Shouta raised an eyebrow. “Illegal?”
Oboro shrugged. “I mean, we’re not exactly allowed up here.”
“Yeah, what he said!” Hizashi grinned.
“Why were you guys so determined to come up here anyway? It’s not like there’s anything here.” Shouta crossed his arms.
Oboro gestured to the roof. “A secret hideout, duh! Somewhere where the staff doesn’t even think to look!”
“I sincerely doubt that, but okay.”
“Come on, Shouta!” Hizashi slung an arm around his shoulders. “Where’s your sense of rebellion?!”
“It died.”
“When?”
“I don’t know, like 12 minutes ago.” He shrugged Hizashi’s arm off. “I’m taking a nap.”
“Where are you going?” Oboro asked.
Shouta opened the rooftop door. “Inside. It’s going to rain.”
“How do you know that?”
Shouta furrowed his eyebrows and pointed upwards. “The clouds in the sky?”
Oboro turned the camera toward the sky and sure enough, the sky was dreary and overcast. “I’m sure it’ll hold out until the end of lunch!”
Hizashi squinted at the sky. “Hm. I don’t know, Oboro. The clouds are looking kinda dark.”
“Even so, I have a cloud quirk. I’ll catch the rain and be fine.”
“To quote our dear Shouta, ‘I sincerely doubt that, but okay.’” Hizashi smiled but turned to walk into the building. As soon as he stepped through the doorway, rain started pouring down.
Oboro clicked his tongue. “Well.”
“Shouta was right.”
Shouta turned the corner and crossed his arms, leaning against the doorframe. “I was right.”
Oboro lifted his hand over his head and created a cloud. “Hey hey, look at this.”
Midoriya bounced in his seat. “So his clouds can hold water! Is there a limit to how much it can—”
Oboro’s cloud turned dark and burst, rain pouring down on him. “Oh.”
“—hold. I guess there is.”
“Shirakumo-san is going to get sick, kero.” Tsuyu croaked.
“WAIT I CAN’T LET THE CAMERA—”

When the static cleared and the camera feed returned, it showed Oboro’s, quite frankly, flushed face. He sniffed. “Hello everybody, my name is… Shirakumo Oboro, and I feel fine. I’m one hundred percent a-okay. Nothing is wrong. I’m just living life.”
“Oboro?”
Oboro turned the camera to face Hizashi. “Yeah? Yeah! That’s me.”
Shouta crossed his arms. “He’s sick.”
Oboro laughed, just a tinge out of it. “Nonononono, I’m fineeee. I’m—woah.” He stumbled and Hizashi and Shouta were quick to stabilize him.
“ OBORO! You’re sick, man! Come on, let’s get you to RG!” Hizashi attempted to drag Oboro along.
“I don’t need to!” He sniffed.
Shouta rolled his eyes, also dragging Oboro along. “You obviously have a fever, you’ve been sniffling this whole time, and I wouldn’t be surprised if you started—” Oboro yanked his arm away from Shouta to violently cough into his elbow.
Shouta looked unamused. “—coughing.”
“Ughhhhhhhh.” He groaned.
“Let’s go.”
The group walked for a bit in silence before Oboro spoke up.
“Guys, my stomach feels—” He gagged.
“NO DON’T YOU DARE—”

Recovery Girl glanced over at Shouta, who was hugging a trash can and sitting on a cot. She sighed. “Aizawa, you have to go to class. Give me the trash can.”
Mina clapped her hands excitedly. “Recovery Girl looks so much younger!”
Hizashi turned the camera back toward himself. “So Oboro passed out—”
“That was only for like, a minute!” Oboro called out, clearly out of it.
“—and Shouta needs to let go of the fucking—”
“Yamada,” Recovery Girl warned.
“I meant fricking—trash can. Also, can I get new shoes? Fucker—fricker—threw up on mine.”
“Is… Is Aizawa-sensei emetophobic?” Yaoyorozu asked.
Kaminari frowned. “What’s emetophobic?”
“It’s being afraid of seeing vomit, being afraid to vomit, and things along that line, kero. My little sister is emetophobic.” Tsu tapped her chin.
“Spot on, little listener! Shouta’s always hated vomit.”
Uraraka tilted her head. “He’s helped us when we were sick loads of times!”
“He’s seen a lot of things as a pro. It sorta desensitized him? But he also knew he would have to deal with these things as a teacher.”
There was a collective “ohhhhhh” from the class.
Recovery Girl tutted. “I’ll write you a pass to class. Stop by the Vice Principal’s office to see if he’ll help you.”
“Thanks, RG!” Hizashi turned the camera around to face himself. “Well, I’m gonna head out! This is Yamada Hizashi, signing off!” He furrowed his eyebrows, looking up. “Woah. That feels so powerful! Oboro!” He turned to look at him. “Now I know why you always say it! It makes you feel like a real reporter or something!”
“I KNOW RIGht—eugh—”
“Please don’t throw up again, if you throw up then Shouta’s gonna throw up, and then I’ll be lonely the whole day.”
“Yamada…”
“Sorry, RG!”

The camera switched back on to show Oboro’s smiling face. “I’m back! Ignoring the fact that I, y’know, threw up a handful of times I’m okay now.”
“No, you’re not!” Hizashi called.
“Ignoring everything that Hizashi says, I’ll now continue being the designated recorder for my video diaries! "
“I'll be taking that now!” Hizashi started walking over to him.
“No, don't take it from me, I'm better I promise!”
The footage shook a bit as Hizashi grabbed the camera. He turned it to face Oboro, Shouta sitting next to him. “I can assure you that he is not better because of the fact that we are still in the nurse's office. His fever has gone down but he is nowhere near being better.”
Shouta huffed. “There’s also the fact that he’s not allowed to leave campus until his fever is completely gone. You're lucky that we’re spending our free period talking to you.”
“Whatever!” Oboro pointed at him. “You’re the one who had to miss the first two periods because you couldn't handle a little vomit!”
Shota rolled his eyes. “Well unlike you I went back to class. Besides, it's good to know that you've learned your lesson.”
"And what lesson is that, my dear emo friend?”
“Don't rely on your quirk to save you from everything. Also, don't go out in the rain unless it’s necessary.”
Oboro spluttered. “Well—! Okay, you got me there. But you can't get sick from the rain! It's the germs that make you sick.”
Shouta raised his eyebrow. “But the rain does weaken your immune system, making it more likely for you to get sick.”
Oboro huffed. “Recovery Girl! They're bullying me!”
Recovery Girl chuckled off-screen. “Well, they are right dearie. But if they are bullying you, I will not hesitate to kick them out.”
“I can't believe you guys turned RG against me!”
Hizashi laughed. “She literally just said that she wouldn’t hesitate to kick us out.”
“UGH! Whatever, I’m gonna pass out now.” Oboro flopped onto his back and pulled the sheet over his head.
“Shouta, it’s your turn to say the final goodbye.”
“The final what? Oh.” Shouta rolled his eyes and grabbed the camera, facing it toward him and taking a deep breath. “Bye.”
“NOOOO YOU HAVE TO SAY THE BIT! I HAD TO DO IT!”
“Can’t make me.”
“GET THAT SMUG LOOK OFF YOUR FACE, IT ACTUALLY FEELS KINDA POWERFUL—”
“—Yamada, volume!”
“—SORRy, RG!”
