Chapter Text
“Hello everyone,” Kirishima said to the camera giving it a wave. “Not your usual host I know but don’t worry Katsuki will show up.” He promised. “Today I’m going to be doing the special cooking today. I had Katsuki’s mom keeping him busy while I get this all ready to let’s go!”
“Okay, so today we’re going to be making Katsuki’s favorite meal. I know he’s made mine before but he never did his. So his favorite meal is actually spicy ramen, and I mean spicy. But the ramen with spicy crunchy chicken instead of pork.
“Now I’ll admit, I’m not going to be making the ramen. I know, I’m sorry. But I picked it up from his favorite place, and mind you they don’t even do take-out, they only agreed because he goes there so often they know his face and now they know my face too. But I got the ramen from them already.” He says sliding it into the frame. “And the chicken I was told to keep covered in the microwave until I was ready then give it a little fry in a drop of soy sauce and Katsuki’s favorite hot sauce before serving it. Guys this whole thing is so complicated it’s ridiculous.” Kirishima laughed.
“Okay, but I will still be cooking because Katsuki likes more than just ramen because he’s fancy,” Kirishima said with a snort. “Before the ramen, he likes to eat pickled cucumbers which are not just pickles I found out, but a type his mom makes that she told me how to make,” He held up a recipe. “And he likes to end his meal with ginger rice and for dessert, Katsuki likes caramel dunked in salted dark chocolate.” Kirishima held up a box with Katsuki’s favorite chocolate label slapped on top.
“This box is actually empty, has been for a day or so. But it’s a nice box so I decided to give it another use.” Smiling, Kirishima popped open the top to reveal a bottom filled with chocolate that was partially out of frame to show off the top of the box instead. A note was attached to the top, from it a red string tied around and from that, a gold ring dangled. Kirishima closed the lid and beamed.
“If this video goes live, assume it turned out well.”
_____
“Ei? I’m home.” Katsuki called and Eijirou smile at the camera, quickly retreating to the kitchen.
“Welcome home!”
“Smells like you are using my kitchen.”
“Well I am,” Eijirou said and he flashes Katsuki a smile when he appeared in the doorway looking at him skeptically. “I made dinner!”
“Smells spicy.”
“It is.”
“And like vinegar.”
“That too.”
“You cleaned up after yourself.”
“You going to keep taking notes or eat the dinner your wonderful boyfriend worked himself making?”
“Why do you have your phone recording in your hand?”
“Because,” Kirishima said raising it. “I recorded myself making it and I want your reaction. Come sit at the table.”
Huffing he obeyed taking a seat and Kirishima came out first with two cups of tea before retreating back to the kitchen.
“First, a favorite of yours,” he said coming out with a small dish of cucumbers and Katsuki raised a brow. “Cucumbers, the way your mom makes them.” Kirishima held out chopsticks and Katsuki took them, looking him over before taking a slice and giving it a taste. “Your review, chef?”
“Not bad. What else do you have?”
“Another favorite, but one I didn’t make because I wanted this to actually end with a meal we all could eat.” Kirishima comes out with the ramen and Katsuki looks surprised. “Spicy ramen with chicken.”
“Is this?”
“From Gyo-san? Yes.” Katsuki let out a laugh.
“You carried this home? Did they give you a container?”
“No, I had to bring one of ours. I practically begged.”
“You fucking idiot.” Katsuki grinned reaching out to bring Kirishima down by his neck and place a kiss on his lips.
“That’s not all,” Kirishima said against his lips and Katsuki leaned back. Kirishima retreated back to the kitchen to bring out the rice and sat it down before taking a seat himself. “Ginger rice for after the meal.”
“So my favorite meal,” Katsuki said still smiling and Kirishima beamed.
“Well, you made mine. Figured I should do yours. So? How’d I do?”
“I think if I wasn’t fucking starving I’d skip this and eat you instead.”
Kirishima flushed knowing the camera was recording them.
“Maybe after the meal.”
Kirishima set his phone away as they ate, knowing the other camera was recording still. The video fast-forwards through their meal and their talking until it showed Kirishima reentering the picture after taking all the dishes away.
“There is one more surprise,” Kirishima said and Katsuki hummed watching Kirishima come out with the box and he hummed.
“Did you get more?” He asked already holding a hand out and Kirishima set it down to his left before coming around his right. Kirishima gave the camera a smile waiting for Katsuki to sit up and distract himself by opening the box while he sunk down to the ground on his knee. Kirishima feared Katsuki didn’t even notice the ring, immediately reaching for the chocolate but when the metal reflected off of the light overhead his hand stilled. Kirishima watched his eyes scan over the words on the card, widening dramatically as his mouth parted. His head snapped to Kirishima and seeing him on his knee he sat up, bringing a hand up to cover his mouth. Kirishima reached for the ring, untying it and holding it out for Katsuki.
“Katsuki,” he called and Katsuki shook his head.
“You fuck,” he exhaled and Kirishima smiled.
“Do you want to marry me?” Kirishima finished and Katsuki bit down on his bottom lip when he lowered his hands.
“Yeah,” he agreed and Kirishima’s smile grew. “You dumb idiot, fuck yes.” Kirishima barely caught himself before Katsuki tackled him.
_____
“Hello fuckers,” Bakugou greeted and Kirishima shoved him.
“Don’t be rude.”
“After eight years they ought to be used to it,” Katsuki argued.
“Today I’m showing you all how to make the ultimate anniversary dinner.”
