A villains voice is never heard

Chapter 24: The End

Notes:

This chapter mentions character death, just a warning!
I hope you enjoy!

(Also, I went back and edited the summary of this fic, so if you noticed, don't freak out)

[Also again, I realized I didn't really describe Machi, so I went back and added a proper description :)]

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

The feeling of the lady- Adisa, was horrible. I felt violated in the worst way possible. She flashed through my memories like it was no big deal, I was crying as she slowly went through what happened during my kidnapping, my breath getting quicker.

Had Aizawa known she was going to do this? I felt hot with anger, that he had just...let them do this. And he hadn't even warned me. This is what he was hiding, then.

But she soon got to the day I cursed out Detective Dick and what happened with Kurogiri. She played that memory slow, listening to everything that was going on, quietly gasping. But she continued on to the training camp, playing over what happened with the kids.

Self incrimination was happening. That's what this was. And I couldn't hide anything from her either. She was too skilled with that quirk.

I finally felt the violating presence leave and fell forward against the desk, one arm holding me up and the other clamped over my mouth so I wouldn't puke.

"Conspiring with Villains." The lady announced.

I shook my head desperately. "I wasn't-"

"You're going to deny it?" I couldn't see her, my vision was obscured still but I could feel her getting closer. His voice short and clipped.

I scrubbed at my eyes, wiping the tears to the best of my ability.

"Memories don't lie. You met up with Kurogiri in that alley, and later you called him and told him the location of the forest camp!" She accused. Her tone getting louder.

"I didn't!" I cried. "I didn't tell him! I swear-"

"So you admit you met up with him?"

"I did not meet up with him! I left the damn police station because Detective Dick over here is an asshole! And all of a sudden Kurogiri was there! Its not my fault!" I shouted, also getting louder, tightly holding onto the desk.

"You said you would've joined them!"

"I lied!" I shouted, lying to try and save myself. "He would've killed me if I didn't say that!"

"Enough." The lady from The Hero Commission said. Standing up. "Y/N L/N. On behalf of The Hero Commission, you are expelled from UA highschool."

I inhaled sharply, clenching my jaw.

"And you will be held in custody until a proper trial can be held." She finished.

My eyes widened. "What!? That's bullshit!" I exclaimed, stepping back from the desk in fear.

"Control yourself. Or you'll be walking out of here in handcuffs." She warned. "Hawks. Go ahead." She said, standing up. As did everyone else in the room.

I was shaking, I was shaking in anger as feathers forced me towards the door. I felt betrayed and hurt. Which was turning into white hot anger.

The door was opened and the lady stepped outside first. Followed by Detective Dick, and then I was being pushed outside. I saw Aizawa, standing and waiting.

A hand on my arm stopped me from getting close to him. "It's not worth it kid. You'll be in more trouble for attacking a hero." He said quietly.

I flinched, looking at Aizawa again. "You're dead to me." I spat. "Make sure to tell them it's you're fault I'm being taken away." I stumbled as Hawks started to pull me along with him.

Aizawa looked hurt but I couldn't be bothered to care. He could go to hell.

I tried to pull away from Hawks, who wasn't relenting in his right grip on my arm. "Let go of me, you damn bird. I can walk!"

He just seemed amused. "Not happening. Because if you lash out they'll put you away even longer."

I glared. "Oh yeah? And how long will I be 'put away' for fixing your crooked nose?" I sneered.

He seemed offended. "My nose is not crooked." He huffed, but still didn't let me go, forcing me to continue walking.

"Look in a damn mirror." I replied. The only good thing about this situation was everyone was in class, so the chances of someone seeing me was slim.

We made it out of the school without anyone noticing. But then I spotted the reporters, all shouting and already taking pictures. I raised a brow and looked at the hero besides me who looked unbothered.

"What if I broke your nose in front of all these reporters? Would your popularity drop or rise?" I snickered.

His grip tightened on my arm, making me wince. "Don't. You won't do yourselves any favors."

"But I'd be breaking your nose in front of tons of people." I pointed out. I wasn't going to, I wasn't that stupid, obviously. He was a pro hero, the fasted hero at that. No way I'd be able to punch him before I was stopped.

He slapped suppression cuffs onto my hands before pushing me into the sleek black car with more force than necessary.

I sighed quietly as The Hero Commission lady got into the driver's seat and Adisa got into the passenger seat. I noticed how there was a gate between me and them. They had used this car to capture other people as well.

Hawks didn't get in and I assumed he was flying or that he just left. I didn't really care. And Detective Dick was in the car behind us.

I stared down at the cuffs around my wrists. I hadn't even gotten to say goodbye. I left on a bad note with Izuku. I sniffled and willed myself not to cry. I wouldn't give these bastards the satisfaction.

The car ride was a long and silent one. Until that Adisa lady gasped loudly. "Shigaraki Tomura!" She exclaimed, pointing to the car in front of us.

I frowned, leaning forward to see out the window. I froze when I saw Shigaraki was indeed sat on top of the truck in front of us.

"What did you do!?" She demanded, twisting around towards me.

I scowled. Was she really blaming me? When I had been here the entire time? "I didn't do anything!" I exclaimed. I noticed I was trembling. What the hell was Shigaraki doing here?

The back of the truck opened and blue flames shot up, not towards us but above. I saw red feathers and guessed it was Hawks who they were attacking. But I didn't know why they were here.

The car skidded to a stop as Shigaraki leaped from the top of the truck, landing with a thud on top of the car, he had the hands on him again.

I looked behind him and saw Machi with her hand out, controlling his jump so he didn't fall.

I looked up again when The Hero Commission lady started to speak into her phone, likely calling the police. The door besides me quickly disintegrated. "Hello, Goldie!" He greeted with a laugh. "Go, Magne!" He shouted as an unknown girl slipped inside the car, brushing against my shoulder.

I didn't have anytime to think before a blue aura surrounded me and I was pulled from the car and flying towards the truck. I screamed in surprise, landing with a thud inside.

"Whoops, sorry! That was the quickest way to get you out." A voice said above me. "I'm Magne."

I looked up, trying to orientate myself. "Did you just... Was I just kidnapped again?" I struggled to get up with my hands cuffed.

"Would you rather go to jail?" Dabi asked dryly, torching the car I'd just been in "Step on it, Lizard!" He shouted, pulling the door shut.

I felt very confused as I looked at the people starting to sit down. "I'm not entirely sure." I mumbled in response to Dabis question. I sat rigidly against the side of the truck, but I was still shaking despite my efforts to stop.

"Y/N!" Machi shouted in delight, grinning at me. "We heard they were gonna take you to jail. So of course Shigaraki wanted to save you!"

I frowned. That somehow didn't sound very likely. "How-"

"Ways. Let me see your hands." Shigaraki cut me off, stepping into the back from the passenger seat he'd been in. His sudden entrance made me jump, eyes widening.

I quickly shook my head, eyes wide with fear of what he was gonna do. "N-No, stay away from me." I said, I didn't trust him. I scooted back away from him, wincing as my head knocked against the side of the truck thanks to a sharp turn.

"I won't do anything, I'm gonna take off the cuffs." Shigaraki said, getting closer. Before I could stop him, his hand was on the cuffs before taking them away.

I watched as they disintegrated off my hands and narrowed my eyes at him. My phone had fallen when I'd been pulled into the truck, so I couldn't contact anyone even if I wanted to. "What's all this?" I asked, rubbing my wrists and warily watching him.

"What's it look like?" He replied. "How's that for a plan?" He smugly asked, sitting down.

"It could use some work." I replied before really thinking about it, wincing when I realized what I'd just said and to who I was talking to.

Shigaraki scowled, seeming to be sulking. "We didn't even get caught. What do mean it could use some work!?" He demanded, pulling the hand from his face.

"Did you kill them?"

Shigaraki didn't skip a beat. "I didn't like them." He replied.

"And Hawks?" I asked, unable to put a cap on my curiosity. If I really was being kidnapped, then I was going to take advantage of the time I wasn't drugged.

"He's injured. Not dead." Dabi said, being the one who attacked him. "Why? You attached to the bird or something?"

I wrinkled my nose. "No way. I wanted to break his nose. He's a dick." I replied, crossing my arms.

"You're with us now. Right? The heroes were gonna put you in jail. And we saved you." Machi said, watching me.

I didn't know what to say. Because she was right. The heroes were going to throw me in jail for who knows how long. All because Kurogiri corned me in an alley and I stopped Aizawa from attacking Machi and Mustard.

Aizawa had handed me over twice now. He failed me on multiple occasions, and the small, sick part of my brain wanted the man dead. But I quickly forced those thoughts down. I instead balled my fists. "Well I can't go back, can I?"

"You were gonna get arrested, and then we came to get you. And well..."

"They found the bodies. They're officially dead. You're welcome." That unfamiliar girl interrupted. She had black, swooping hair almost in a shape you'd see a Christmas tree, all flared out. She had long bangs that concealed her eyes. And she wore a black turtleneck with a beige coat on top and black pants. "I expect payment, Shigaraki."

"Your payment is me not killing you." Shigaraki hissed.

I looked up at her, then to Shigaraki. "You did kill them."

"Oh no, doll. I was talking about you." The girl said, arms crossed. I noticed her ears were pointed when she turned. "Whenever people wanna fake their deaths, they come to me. I'm Grimm." She introduced.

"I'm dead?" I asked. I think I was still sort of...in shock. It hadn't really hit me yet.

Grimm rolled her eyes. "Obviously not. I make doubles of things. Kinda of like Twice. Except my doubles disappear when I want them to, and if I make copies of people, they function like mannequins. Perfect for faking deaths." She clicked her tongue. "I simply planted your body in the car. They'll think you're dead."

"It's so no one comes after you. I'm taking precautions. It's a nice plan, right?" Shigaraki asked, scratching absentmindedly at his neck. "Your death should be top news tomorrow." He grinned.

It took me a minute to realize what that meant. But when I did, I shouted, "Are you insane!?"

"He is." Dabi chimed.

Shigaraki looked annoyed. "I could've left you to the heroes to rot in a jail cell. A thank you would be nice!" He shouted.

"Thank you!?" I exploded. "I didn't ask for your help. I don't want anything to do with you."

"Well too bad for you. Because your options are limited here, Goldie. You either stay here with us, or you go back to the heroes who failed you once already." He sneered, irritably scratching his neck.

I faltered. Fucking bastard. "I think both options are shit. Because you've kidnapped me once already, attacked me and Izuku, and attacked my class again! Plus you kidnapped Bakugou!" I shouted.

"Bakugou was a mistake." Shigaraki said sourly. His whole mood shifting. "He's a stubborn little brat who's views are too twisted to be saved."

I crossed my arms. "I told you not to kidnap Bakugou. Because he's very stubborn and he is determined to be a hero." I huffed. "Where's mist- Kurogiri? Why go through all this trouble? And you're missing people from last time." I noticed.

Shigaraki seemed to be done talking, arms crossed and silently sulking.

"Kurogiri is off on other business. Toga and Twice stayed behind. Mustard isn't allowed out until his jaw heals." Dabi said with a sigh, hands ruffling his hair. "Spinners up front driving, since no one else can. Compress is babysitting Toga and Twice."

I slowly nodded and fell silent. They didn't need to worry about telling me anything since I was..'dead'.

I felt my heart drop. Oh no.

Hitoshi and Denki.

How could I do that to them!?

They were going to think I was dead. But I wasn't. I wasn't dead, but they were going to think I was. Fuck. I was a horrible person. My two favorite people in the world were going to think I was dead. That was the worst possible thing I could do.

I was panicking. My chest felt all tight again as I clenched and unclenched my hands, my shirt in my hands.

Hitoshi had expressed his fear of abandonment once, I was doing the one thing he hated. Abandoning him. It wasn't on purpose, of course. I would never willingly leave either of them. But did I have another choice?

Izuku too. How would he feel when he saw that his recently found sibling was dead? I was leaving all of my friends behind. At least in jail they could visit.

It was hitting me hard and I dropped my head into my hands, letting go of my shirt. I inhaled shakily, praying I wouldn't start crying. But fuck- it was hard. This whole situation sucked.

"We're here. Come on." Shigaraki said quietly, pulling one of my curls to get my attention.

I flinched, but it did the trick. I rubbed my eyes and shakily stood up, watching Shigaraki hop down. I took a deep breath before slowly exhaling. Recalling Bakugous method of in for 4 and out for 4. It helped calm me down as I hopped out of the truck.

I was quickly ushered away and into a building I didn't get to see the name of. But I quickly noticed it looked like some sort of abandoned warehouse. I sneezed at all the dust.

But as I was shown to one of the rooms where the others were, I sighed quietly. Was this my life now? Was I truly a villain now? Yes was the answer to both of those questions. And the change terrified me.

---------

Denki Kaminari was a mess. A true mess. Only two days had passed by and he still felt in denial.

But it was all over the news and media. UA student and suspected villain dead. At the hands of none other than the League of Villains, who had apparently attacked the car holding them, some representative from the Hero Commission, and a foreign lady.

Hawks had been injured during the fight.

But Y/N was dead, despite a pro hero being there. One of the top pro heroes at that.

Denki didn't know what to do with himself now that they were...gone. Their body had been pulled from the wreck and their guardians had identified the body.

Denki felt...he didn't even know how he felt. Numb. He spent the last few days locked in his room and staring at a wall, unable to comprehend that they were truly gone. Sometimes he cried and screamed, but he usually sat and stared, feeling numb as he thought about Y/N. He felt lost.

The person he loved was gone forever.

Hitoshi was in a similar state. Except he was feeling guilty. He should have done more to protect them. He should've done so much more. He could've talked to Aizawa, and convinced the man that Y/N wasn't a villain. That there was no need for the police and HC to get involved.

But he didn't do anything. He tried and pretended like everything would be fine. But it wasn't! Nothing was okay about this, nothing was fine! He sure as hell wasn't fine. He cried a lot. His insomnia got even worse if that was possible. He couldn't even sleep to escape the pain of reality.

The reality where one of the people he loved was gone. They were gone now and he would never get to hug them again.

He started to sob again, fists balled up as he screamed in pain into his bed.

---------

"Their funeral is today." Denki whimpered, tears filling his eyes as he looked at Hitoshi.

Almost two weeks had gone by since that day. And they had been leaning on each other for support.

Hitoshi nodded quietly. "I know." He whispered. They were both dressed in suits as well as the rest of their class for the funeral.

Hitoshi took a deep breath, rubbing his eyes. "We're gonna be okay." He said, wrapping his arms tightly around Denki.

Denki sobbed quietly into his shoulder and held onto him tightly. "I hope so." He mumbled.

Denki had lashed out some time during the beginning, when Aizawa had tried to clear out Y/Ns room. He discharged so much electricity he blew the lights in the whole place. His quirk was dangerous and rather explosive when his emotions ran wild.

His hurt was reflected outwardly more than Hitoshi.

But both of them felt so much pain and sadness.

---------

"Your funerals today." Shigaraki said as I walked into the room.

This past weeks had been eventful. I had changed several items of jewelry and such to gold, and Machi had gone to pawn them down the road for cash.

Turns out gold was a lot more valuable than I thought, and I proved my worth. So we moved to a new, and better location.

Another bar because Kurogiri insisted and he was the one person of reason out of the whole group. But this time more spacious with a whole actual housing unit above. An upgrade definitely.

I had gotten more... Comfortable wasn't the right word, but I didn't know a better alternative to describe it. But I'd gotten that with the League. I was still very jumpy and tried to avoid Shigaraki as much as possible, but it wasn't like before.

They'd made sure to express that I wasn't a prisoner and that I had not been kidnapped. That I could go out as long as I had someone accompanying me.

I just couldn't...interact with anyone. I especially wasn't allowed near UA, because if they knew I was alive, it could get nasty.

And so I followed the rules. Because I knew I could be in danger if someone recognized me. We all could be in danger. Despite my longing to find Denki and Hitoshi and hug the both of them.

I listened.

So, I simply nodded at Shigarakis words and took a seat at the bar. "I know." I said, leaning my head against the freshly cleaned bartop.

"It's being televised. Since you're a UA kid. It's sickening." He informed. "Do you want to watch? Or would you prefer to not know it's happening?" He asked.

I scowled. "Bastards. Televising my funeral. That's bullshit." I huffed. "Turn it on. I wanna see-"

"Your lovers." Machi said as she came to sit besides me, Mustard in tow. They'd been stuck to me ever since I arrived.

I glanced at her. "We've been over this. Not my lovers." I said, turning towards the TV in the corner as Shigaraki turned to the appropriate channel. I inhaled sharply at the sight.

All of Class 1-A was there. I spotted Monoma as well. The camera was positioned to show all of them from the front. And they all looked horrible.

But my eyes immediately found Denki and Hitoshi in the front row. My heart shattered at their appearance. Hitoshi looked drop dead exhausted and Denki didn't look any better. Both of their eyes were red and puffy, looking like they were barely holding in their tears. "I'm so sorry.." I whispered. It was my fault they were like this.

I watched silently as my guardians spoke. I teared up a little. They weren't the best, but they cared. And that's what mattered in the end.

Miruko and her sidekicks+sister were also there. She spoke of how brave I was and promised to capture Shigaraki for what he did.

I smiled a bit at her spirit. She cared too.

But I quickly became angry when Aizawa started to speak. Talking about how much he cared and was hurt about what happened. Taking back everything he said about me being a villain.

"Turn it off." I quietly requested.

Shigaraki obliged and clicked the TV off.

"That damn bastard! I mean, who does he think he is? Just because he thinks I'm dead he suddenly sorry? I call bullshit! Because if I actually was dead, it'd be his fault! He's the one who started this whole mess. Fuck him." I spat. "I need to cool off, I'm gonna go upstairs." I dismissed myself, stomping up the stairs.

My funeral wasn't mentioned again even though my face was plastered on every newspaper.

---------

The Hero Provisional exam had been postponed for several months. Out of respect for me in the beginning, and so the Hero Commission could regroup and find more staff. But then it was just prolonged because they couldn't seem to find an appropriate date.

But eventually it was settled and a date was set.

"You're going to the exam with Toga." Shigaraki said, sitting in front of me.

I paused. "Huh? Why?" I asked surprised.

I had been with the League for several months now. It wasn't always easy, it wasn't. This new life was hard to adjust to and I missed my friends. But, things were getting better and easier.

I'd gotten closer to them all too. Several months with these people did something to a person. Not in a bad way either.

And slowly, my views began to shift all together. My views on heroes changed as I was shown how heroes continued to fail people over and over. My thoughts were being reshaped and molded to align with Shigarakis.

It felt life changing. And quite scary.

I still woke up from nightmares in the middle of the night though. But they weren't about the kidnapping, they were about Hitoshi and Denki. Most frequently they were sobbing over my dead body and asking why I had abandoned them.

It hurt. I couldn't just let go of them. Which is why I was surprised that Shigaraki was telling me I was going to the Provisional Exams with Toga. Where I'd probably run into them.

"Yeah. We need more intel, and you and her would be perfect. Togas disguise skills are just perfect for this, and you know these people better than any of us." Shigaraki said.

"Won't people recognize me?" I asked. My appearance hadn't really changed besides the fact that my hair was getting ridiculously long, about shoulder length now, and I didn't trust anyone with a pair of clippers next to me. And the fact that I now had a jagged scar running from the top of my right cheekbone down to my chin from a particularly nasty fight.

But my features were still recognizable.

"I'll handle that." Dabi said with a grin, appearing in the doorway.

Dabi had managed to wrestle me into the bathroom, two boxes of black hair dye in his hands.

"Dabi, no! I'm not putting that shit in my hair, it'll never come out!" I complained, fighting and squirming away from him.

"Your hair is the most noticable thing about you! Unless you wanna suddenly go bald, this is the best option." Dabi reasoned, trying to get me to sit still. Toga was sitting on the tub, watching with a grin because she loved anything like this.

I scowled and continued to fight against him, standing with my hands outstretched to keep him back. "I'll still be recognizable! My hair won't-" I whined.

"It'll hide you. And it's only temporary anyways. It'll wash out in a few days." Dabi said, looking down at the box of dye. "Plus, Shigaraki got some mask for you to wear. It'll be fine. No one will recognize you." He reassured. "Now, sit still and start mixing this." He tossed one of the boxes at my head.

I huffed quietly and joined Toga, sitting on the edge of the tub. "Fine, fine. But if you fuck it up I'm dying your hair pink." I threatened.

Dabi snorted. "I'm a pro at this." He said confidently and started to mix everything up.

As it turns out, Dabi was a pro at it. An hour later my hair was slicked back with the black, funny smelling dye sitting in my hair.

I had some black on my shirt and neck, but it was better than Toga, who had a line of dye streaked across her forehead courtesy of Dabi after she tried to 'help.'

It was hilarious.

A few days later I was dressed in some schools uniform that Toga had gotten from...well, who knows where.

Shigaraki had indeed gotten me a mask from the same people who made Togas and Mustards. It was a lot more simpler than theirs. It covered the whole bottom half of my face and my left eye. It was made of a black, breathable material. A wide smile was painted where my mouth was and the top that covered my eye looked move like an eye patch than anything.

It felt weird to be wearing a mask like this all of a sudden. But it did the job and covered me. Even if I could only see out of the right eye now.

"I feel weird." I scrunched my nose.

"You don't look anything like yourself. But I still think you should wear contacts." Shigaraki said, standing in front of Toga and I.

I shook my head. "No. They're freaky." I replied. Well, the whole touching my eyeball thing was weird, creepy, and gross. "Are we good to go? It's almost time." I commented, looking at the clock.

Shigaraki nodded, looking at me seriously. "Don't get recognized. Okay? You're there only for info. And don't attack any teachers got it?" He said. Referring to Aizawa with that last part. He knew how I felt about the man. "Toga, don't kill anyone. Not in front of people anyways. Okay?"

"I'm not an idiot." I grumbled at the same time as Toga, who was pouting.

Kurogiri took us away a few minutes later. Dropping us off in front of the stadium place. Immediately went with Toga, who grabbed some girl and took her away to get her blood.

When Toga reimerged disguised as the girl, I scrunched my nose. I reached over to snatch the hat. "You look like a sailor." I commented.

Toga laughed and took the hat back. "It's from Shiketsu high! It's the second best hero school after UA." She hummed. "Now, let's go. I see some other kids from there." She said, pointing ahead.

I looked over and shrugged. "Whatever you say." I said, trailing behind her.

We went over to a very crowded hall for something like orientation. I raised a brow of what we'd have to do. "Target practice? Really?" I mumbled. "How long do we have to be here?" I whispered to Toga.

"We have until 2. That's when Kurogiris gonna get us. Let's make the most of it!" She said with a grin. We had agreed not to use actual names while we were here. But I knew she was talking about Shigarakis instructions.

I jumped when the building expanded out, the roof and walls laying flat. "Wow." I mumbled.

Toga started to move through the crowd already, leaving me to run after her. "Why are you in such a rush? I though you wanted-"

"The UA crushing! This will be so fun! Time to knock those kids down." Someone laughed from besides me.

I glanced up at the person. "UA crushing..?"

"Yeah kid, don't you know? UA is always the first ones to go down. Sure, some kid died. But that just means they won't be on top of their guard!" They said.

I frowned. That was rude. But I nodded anyways and quickly ran towards Toga with a scowl. "Rude, don't leave me behind!"

"Some kid from Shiketsu just grabbed me." She said innocently, tossing three of the targets towards me.

I placed them across my body and nodded, taking the six balls. "All we gotta do is grab some kids and stick them with a ball, right?" I asked.

Toga nodded and grinned. It was kinda weird seeing her disguised as some random girl. "Yep! So just find someone and knock em out. You're good at that." She said cheerfully. "I'll meet you back in the waiting room. Okay? You can handle yourself!" She said.

I nodded. "Yeah. I'll meet you in the waiting room. Careful." I said.

Toga grinned, pulling one of my curls playfully. "Obviously. Now shoo. We're about to start. Since we're supposed to be from two different schools we should split up."

I nodded and waved, walking away from her. As soon as the starting sound went off I started to run, using the fact that everyone was going after UA to sneak around to find a suitable target.

I had underestimated how strong these other schools were. One of my targets had been hit and I hadn't managed to eliminate anyone yet. It was frustrating. But I was glad I hadn't wore my gloves. It made things easier in times like this when I was running.

I climbed up a ladder to a bridge, avoiding the dude that was chasing me. He could morph his fingers into knives and it was a little creepy. So, I ran. As you do.

I panted as I got up onto the bridge before freezing. On one side was Toga and some guy wearing the same weird hat as her.

On the other side was...Denki, Hitoshi, and Bakugou. They were all fighting, currently and they hadn't noticed me yet. But as I looked down at the later I saw the kid still chasing after me. I scowled. "Fuck off, knife hands!" I huffed.

I watched in disgust as that Shiketsu dudes flesh touched Bakugou and he was soon reduced to a glob of flesh. I gagged a little. "Camie!" I shouted, recalling the name of the girl Toga was disguised as.

She looked up, avoiding Denki. "Get out of here!" She shouted, pressing a ball against the flesh dudes last target. Her own targets lighting to signal she was finished.

"Too late." I huffed, running when I saw the boy from before emerged, still dead set on chasing after me.

"Who's this now!?" Denki loudly whined. "Hitoshi, deal with him! I can take this guy on!" He shouted, starting to fight knives hands.

I inhaled sharply as Hitoshi nodded, starting to come after me as well. Just my damn luck. "Fuck, fuck, fuck." I muttered, cursing myself and Shigaraki for telling me to come here.

But Hitoshi and Denki looked a lot better. I hadn't seen them since my funeral.

"Hey, what school are you from?" Hitoshi asked.

I knew better than to answer one of his questions, so I kept silent. It hurt to see him.

I got distracted, too far gone in my own head thinking about them, so I yelled in surprise when I was suddenly being tackled from behind by Hitoshi. I hit the ground hard and instantly to struggle.

Hitoshi pressed a ball to one of my targets and I fought harder against him, twisting around so that I was staring up at him with wide eyes.

Hitoshi faltered when he saw the exposed part of my face. "No way..." He whispered, face twisting into fear and denial. But also hurt.

I swallowed hard. if anyone would recognize me, it'd be him. I had to push my thoughts away, using his distraction to press a ball to his final target. Eliminating him. "I'm sorry." I whispered.

"You-" Hitoshi exclaimed, getting off of me and looking down at his red targets in disbelief. "Y/N..?" He asked.

I scrambled up. "I don't know who that is, man." I said, dropping my voice deeper than usual. "Camie, I'm done!" I shouted, stepping towards her.

Hitoshi grabbed my shirt, pulling me back. "I-I.." He stumbled over his words. "Just..tell me if it's you." He whispered. "Please-" his voice cracked.

I opened my mouth to speak before I was suddenly pulled away from him by Toga. She glared at Hitoshi. "You're already out." She hissed. "Let's go, we need to go wait in the waiting room. I'm tired." She whined.

I looked at Hitoshi for a minute. He looked broken. I forced myself to look away. "Yeah- sorry, let's go." I mumbled, quickly walking away from the situation to the waiting room with her.

"What was that all about?" Toga asked with a pout, sitting down in the waiting room.

"He recognized me." I sighed. "Well, it's more like he's suspicious. It hurts to see him like that." I sighed. "You get any information?" I asked.

Toga nodded happily. "And blood." She grinned. "We should probably get going now. Kurogiri said he'd be here at 2. It's already 1:30." She said.

I nodded, running my fingers through my hair. "Yeah, we should probably go before someone else-"

"Camie! You passed! What are you doing over here?" A loud boy exclaimed, coming and sitting besides Toga.

Toga didn't seem startled, unlike me who jumped in surprise. "Scoping out the competition. We're not all obsessed with UA like you." She replied with a smile.

I rolled my eyes, turning away. I looked up, startled to see Bakugou.

"You took out Mindfuck, right?" He sneered. "Watch yourself you masked freak." He spat. Apparently Hitoshi hadn't shared his suspicions.

I shook my head so my hair fell into my eyes. "Aren't you wearing mask? So doesn't that make you a freak too?" I asked, voice dropping again. Because I never passed an opportunity to mess with Bakugou. But it seemed like his anger was even worse now, because he lunged towards me, fist raised.

"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU- OW!" He exclaimed, looking back.

I peered behind him to see Kirishima. He looked a little irritated as well. "Sorry about him." He seemed to force out, pulling Bakugou away.

"Hey, Spikey!" I called, letting the old nickname slip out. Anyone else would probably think I was making fun of him. But, Bakugou was smart, right? He would figure it out. Hopefully.

Bakugou went rigid against Kirishima.

"Thanks for being so kind." I said sarcastically before Kirishima hauled him away. I'd said those exact words back when he'd been in the hospital after being kidnapped.

I slumped against the chair again with a frown. I noticed the guy was gone now and I looked at Toga. "Remind me to kick him later on for making me come along." I huffed.

Toga giggled. "Let's go!" She said, standing up.

I nodded and walked besides her out of the stadium. Toga had given some bullshit excuse about feeling sick and leaving early. And no one really know who I was so I was free to leave whenever I wanted.

We walked a few blacks away, turning into an alley, meeting Kurogiri, who warped us back.

I sighed softly in relief when we were back. I pulled the mask off and scrunched my nose. I look at Shigaraki with a frown. "You're a dick."

"Uh huh." He replied, not paying attention. Luckily for me, because he'd probably kick my ass for saying that. He was perched on the bar, a control in his hands. Some videogame was on the TV currently. Mustard was sitting on an actual barstool with a controller also in his hands.

Toga came back as herself, cheeks flushed red. "I got Izuku's blood!" She shrieked in delight.

That got Shigarakis attention, he paused the game, much to Mustards distress and turned. "Only his?" He asked.

Toga pouted. "You're never satisfied." She whined. "I got punched for this, I hope you know." She held up a vial, clutched between two hands that held a bit of blood in it. She looked at me. "He's angry at boss man." She grinned.

I scoffed. "They all are." I replied. "You ran into Izuku?" I asked, sitting at the bar.

Toga nodded excitedly. "I fought him." She said happily.

Shigaraki nodded. "Keep it somewhere, you shouldn't need to use your quirk any time soon." He said. "We're regrouping now."

I yawned, grabbing my gloves from the end of the bar before laying my head down with a long sigh. "You knew I'd see them today. So why'd you have me go?" I quietly asked.

"To see if you'd come back." Shigaraki said. "Or if you'd expose yourself. And you didn't." He said.

"It was a test." I observed. Fucking dick. But I kept that thought to myself.

"Yep." He replied, pressing play on the game again. And since he had a single track mind, that was the end of the discussion.

---------

Hitoshi brought up his suspicions two days later. The self proclaimed Bakusquad was hanging out in Denkis room. The lull of conversation falling over them. That's when Hitoshi couldn't take it anymore.

"I don't think Y/N is dead." He said.

The room was dead silent before Denki sighed. "Hito, baby...I know more than anyone how much this hurts." He sniffed. "But..you can't keep denying it didn't happen." He reached towards his boyfriend.

A new development. Feelings had been explored after...after Y/N had died. And now the two of the were together, even though it felt like a puzzle piece was missing. Forever lost.

"No- no! I swear- at the exams. I pinned that person down, the one who eliminated me. And...and their eyes." He whispered. "And the freckles. I'd know them anywhere. I know it was them." He said.

Denki frowned. "Y/N has green hair. That person's was black." He said softly. "You can't keep doing this to yourself.."

Hitoshi scowled. "I swear, this time it was them. It's possible! What if the League kidnapped them again and are only faking their death?" He questioned.

"Hitoshi-"

"He's right." Bakugou said quietly. For such a closed off person, he had begrudgingly considered Y/N to be a friend. "Those eyes are unmistakable. Who else has true golden eyes like that?" He asked. "I approached the bastard who got Mindfucker out. Their voice was deep, but Id know that little shit anywhere. And they called me fucking Spikey." He sneered. "Only one person's called me that."

Denki was staring at his hands. "I can't...I can't get my hopes up." He whispered.

"If it's really them, what were they doing at the exams?" Mina quietly asked. "If they've been kidnapped, they wouldn't have been let out. And why didn't they say it was them?"

"Maybe they were being threatened. Someone from the League was probably there." Hitoshi said. "I know it's them. I can't just give up on them like noting." He said firmly.

"Shouldn't we talk to Mr. Ai-"

"No." Denki and Hitoshi cut Kirishima off.

"We need to try and figure things out. See if it's really them. We can't be rash. If we go to Mr. Aizawa, and it's not them..." Hitoshi said, chewing on his lip.

"Let's find that dumbass." Bakugou nodded, hands sparking as he stood.

Notes:

Okay, so this is going to be the last chapter of this fic. I'm splitting this into two fics mostly because this next segment part deals with some different things and I don't really wanna add a bunch of different tags. It's mostly so I can organize things better.

Now, I know that this may seem rushed and too quick, but that's completely on purpose. I wanted to try writing this different because the whole kidnapping and changing sides things happened so fast, so I wanted to show that. But the next fic will delve into more details about The League and all these different changes.

Also, if any of you've seen Hunter X Hunter, Grimm is like Kortopi. Y'know when they do the whole fake their deaths scene? Yeah.

I hope you enjoyed this fic, I had a ton of fun writing it!

Leave a kudos and comment maybe? I'd love to hear your thoughts ^^ I kinda need some feedback on how this chapter went since I don't currently have a beta reader.

But anyways, I hope you continue to enjoy this series!

Until next time. Stay safe, everyone!!!

Notes:

Lemme know what you think so far! I know I gave the reader a certain look but I can't help it! It /is/ rather self indulgent.

But I hope you enjoy! You can ignore the description of you want, it's not important to the story. Not really anyways.

This is my first time writing any sort of reader instead fic, and I'm not sure I'm doing it right, so any advice would be helpful.

Thank you for reading! I hope you continue to enjoy and maybe think of leaving a kudos or comment.

Stay safe y'all!
