Chapter Text

Candramā sang Yueo: said Caan-draa-ma sang (soft A sound) Yuo (like yue but replaced with an O sound)

An Air Nomad saying, teaching and tradition where one mourns with the moon and stops for the other moon so they can resume.

Sūryakō sā Samjni: said Sur-yak-o (r-y connects automatically) saa Sam-j-ni (J sound is very subtle)

An Air Nomad saying, teaching and tradition where you remember with the sun and cherish them. It comes after mourning with the moon and takes place only when there is sun.

Dinakō sā Uṭhnhōs: said Dii-nako saa Uthnhos (nh becomes connected but you still hear the H sound)

Air Nomad saying where you rise with a new day.

Rāta saṅ ārāma: said Raa-ta saan Aa-rama (A is stretched out, rama is quick)

Air Nomad saying where you rest with the night. Rise with a new day is its counterpart.

Yātana wa Chiyū: said Yaa-tana wa Chii-yu (I sound is dragged)

Air Nomad teaching and tradition. It's where you give back to the earth/spirits, thanking them for everything, and remembering them and making them feel appreciated.

Nirārth: said Nii-raar-th (I sound id stretched out, A is stretched out, Th falls flat)

Air Nomad word for prayer. You can either make up your own prayer and verses or you can go by the traditional one. Spirits appreciate originality, so they tend to listen and love the prayers that come for you.

Jīshén Ich Adar Rúg Ni Adar Sorer: said Ji-shen Ich Ad-aar Ruug Ni Ad-aar Sor-er (Ch of Ich pronounded as a k sound, but not fully a k sound it doesn't fall flat. A in adar is stretched out. Rug is pronounced with a more U sound. Sor is stretched out and the Er sound os there, it's not the one in French. Er flows, almost like how you say air but with a more distinct accentuation)

Air Nomad saying and teaching. The spirits will respect you only if you respect them. The only is emphasised because this has to go both ways.

Zǎoste: said Zaa-os-tay (Za is stretched out, os is fast, te is an A sound but is more smooth)

Air Nomad word for morning.

I Am A Chamber  by Nun Chesa

-from the Southern Air Temple

I am a chamber,

I am a home,

And I am empty now,

There is no love to keep me alive,

There is no life to keep me awake,

There is no warmth to keep me solace,

I am alone,

And lost where there was once those who covered me whole,

All that remains is a deep chasm of weight,

Dark and a gaping chest wound,

And it kills me

I am a chamber,

I am a home,

But now? I am empty and all alone,

I am a ghost

More Than The Stars by Teo for Aang

my love for you is a thumb prick,

my love for you is a pindrop,

my love for you is a flower,

my love for you is a day,

my love for you is dusk,

my love for you is an afternoon,

my love for you is the thorns that i choke on,

my love for you is all the words i seem to keep,

my love for you is the heat i bloom,

my love for you is endless,

my love for you is infinite more than an afterhours sky,

my love for you is expansive in ways i cannot whisper

my love for you is more than the stars,

because you are more than the stars,

my love for you is more than the world,

because you are more then the world,

my love for you is more than the universe,

because you are more than the universe,

and you will always be more than enough

Notes:

for my lingusitic worldbuilding part. \i actually used the languages of the cultures the air nomads were based on and just combined them together, some of them, played around, and made them into my words. so it isn't exactly that but at the same time it kind of is. worldbuilding !

Notes:

happy new years!!

this is probs too ooc and kinda rushed, my bad im sorry. i would;ve written it much better if i knew what falling in love would feel like and the pining plus angst that comes along with it. my friend knows that i was wanting to experience that just so I Know and just bc for writing KDSLNJ

listen. they could have been but no they weren't. we were robbed. we could've had it.

i hope i portrayed aang's culture and belief appropriately. i hope i did it justice. what we know of in his culture is detachment, and everything else that comes along with it. some parts, elements of him and his people's culture is based on buddhism. so i tried my best because it's something to respect and something that is sacred. and i understand that as a muslim. i hope i wrote it accurately or close to it
