A sharp, ugly twist of satisfaction curled in Azula’s chest at the thought of the water peasant, quickly followed by a dark, simmering irritation.Katara had abandoned him. The supposed "love of his life," the girl who had fought a war by his side, had simply decided that the life of the Avatar's partner was too demanding. She had packed her bags and fled back to her frozen wasteland in the South Pole, citing her need to rebuild her own home, her inability to handle the pressure of being the mother to a new Air Nation. She was weak. Sentimental. She had wanted the glory of the hero, but not the crushing, lifelong weight of the crown.
And yet, the Avatar mourned her as if she were a fallen deity.

Summary
Escaping from the police after a successful heist, Kokichi uses a random guy he finds drinking coffee near the park as an impromptu alibi. Turns out that guy is named Kaito, and he has his own problems to deal with, thanks. Thankfully, Kokichi finds the drama of his make-shift 'blind dates' life fascinating to listen to, and kidnaps him to the park to hear all about it.

So he doesn’t ask, and by the time they’ve run through their set like usual, Kaito’s forgotten about it almost completely.
Until Shuichi picks the journal back up, turns it over in his hands, and muses, “This is Ouma-kun’s diary.”
Blinking slowly, Kaito stares at the book Shuichi is holding. It looks no different than it had before Shuichi gave it a name, but for some reason Kaito feels differently about it now; his nerves tingle, like his arm hairs are standing up on end. He hadn’t even realised Kokichi kept a diary—it doesn’t exactly seem to be in his character. Kokichi is a secretive, elusive person. At times, during their chases, Kaito feels as though Kokichi genuinely wants to be understood—but Kaito didn’t think he would put all the answers out there where someone could just pick them up and read them.
Which begs the question.
“Okay,” says Kaito. “So why do you have it?”
