Chapter Text
“Seb, wake up, my love.” a soft voice sounded, rough but gentle fingers carding through his hair. Sebastian stirred, yawning loudly and cuddling into the warm body he was laying next to.
“5 more minutes.” he murmured, humming contentedly as strong arms wrapped around him.
“I would agree to it, but it’s a big day.” the soft voice murmured again. “We can’t afford to be late for our son’s wedding.” Sebastian’s eyes shot open now, and he looked up at Jenson who was still holding him.
“Max is getting married.” he whispered. Jenson chuckled and nodded, leaning in to kiss his husband.
“Yes, my darling. Our Cub is getting married.” he answered. Sebastian let out a shaky breath, crawling onto Jenson and straddling his hips. Jenson instantly pushed himself up, kissing his husband firmly as he wrapped his arms around Sebastian’s waist.
“Have Kevin and Nico arrived yet.” Sebastian murmured as Jenson mouthed at his jaw and neck. The older noise let out a soft noise in affirmation.
“They arrived very late yesterday evening, when you were already asleep.” he said. “I was going to wake you, but Kevin was very tired and needed to rest.” he added, one broad hand slipping under Seb’s shirt to touch his warm back. Sebastian shuddered lightly under his touch. carding his fingers through the other man’s hair.
“And Charles?” he asked. Jenson’s hands stilled.
“He isn’t here yet. I don’t know when he will arrive.” he admitted quietly. Sebastian’s smile fell, but his hold only tightened around Jenson, nuzzling into his husband’s embrace.
“I miss him, and I know Max misses him. I just hope he’ll make it.” he murmured. Jenson gently tilted his chin up, giving Sebastian an encouraging look.
“He will be there.” he said firmly, and Sebastian could do nothing else but quietly believe him.
“Papas!” a loud voice sounded from the door, Lando bursting in with a giddy smile on his face before pulling a face when he saw his dads. “I’d rather not see this.” he huffed out, making to turn on his heel. Sebastian chuckled and slipped off Jenson, shooting his husband an amused glance.
“Come here, little one.” Jenson said, while Sebastian held out his arms at his youngest. Lando hesitated, seeming sceptical, but then bounded over, jumping on the bed and cuddling in between his fathers.
“I’m so excited.” he squealed. Sebastian hummed.
“We can see that.” he muttered with an amused smile, kissing the top of Lando’s head and letting the young man slip in under the covers too. “Did you go see Max yet?” he asked curiously. Lando pouted.
“I was going to, but Lance chased me out.” he grumbled. “He got mean since he started dating Esteban.” he added. Jenson lightly swatted the back of the boy’s head.
“Don’t get sassy now.” he tutted. Lando just stuck out his tongue, seeming a little too amused and grinned happily as he stayed cuddled between his dads. They all settled into silence for a moment, Sebastian gently carding his fingers through Lando’s hair as they all stared at the ceiling.
The door opened once more and Kevin walked in, the older brother seeming tired as he smiled at his family. His left hand was resting on his stomach, over the slight swell of his baby bump and Lando gasped, instantly scrambling up and crawling over.
“You got so big!” he squealed, reaching out to carefully touch his brother’s stomach. Kevin smiled, letting him. Kevin had changed a little bit over the last year, growing softer, more content, and the man’s newfound relaxedness made the others happy too.
“Where is Nico?” Sebastian asked, sitting up too and proudly kissing Kevin’s temple. Kevin chuckled, leaming into the touch as he stared down on his stomach.
“He went to see the tailor. My shirt didn’t fit very well anymore.” he said with a gentle smile. Jenson pulled him into a side hug, kissing his temple.
“He is still good to you, right?” he asked. Kevin sighed, closing his eyes for a moment.
“He’s amazing.” he murmured softly.
“I heard my name.” Nico said with a grin, walking into the bedroom too. Kevin glared at his husband, but then reached for him, letting the older man help him up and leaning heavily on him as the bump brought him off-balance for a moment.
“Oh shut up.” Kevin huffed when he saw the soft looks his fathers and Lando were giving him. Still, he let Nico wrap an arm around him, pressing into the older man’s side with a rather content smile on his face.
“Do you think I can take a nap before the wedding still?” he asked. Sebastian nodded.
“Of course darling, you need your rest.” he said. “I’ll ask Romain to wake you in time.” he added. Nico smiled a little shyly at the dads, his arm still wrapped around Kevin’s waist as he began to lead him away.
“I’ll make sure he’s in time.” he promised as they headed out the room. Sebastian smiled after them, but his eyes looked worried.
“I just hope Charles is in time too.”

“Max, are you ready?” Lance asked softly, walking over to where Max was looking at himself in the mirror. The young man sighed shakily and nodded, turning around to show Lance the neat white suit he was wearing, with the rose brooch pinned to his chest.
“Do I look okay?” he murmured. Lance nodded, walking over to fuss over Max’s hair.
“You look beautiful.” he whispered. Max smiled nervously, his cheeks flushed a deep pink.
“Has Charles arrived yet?” he asked. Lance sighed and shook his head, gently squeezing Max’s shoulder.
“Not yet. But I’m sure he will be there.” he answered. Max wrapped his arms around himself.
“I can’t get married without him present. I won’t do it.” he said, tears filling his eyes. Lance wanted to reach out to hug him, but Max shook his head and stepped away.
“I won’t get married without Charles, you go tell the King that.” Max whispered. He didn’t want to disappoint Daniel, he really, really did want to marry his King, but he couldn’t do it without his brothers - let alone his twin, who he hadn’t seen in almost a year. Sebastian came into the room, shushing Max softly and taking his hand.
“He just arrived.” he said, exchanging a glance with Lance. “Come on Max, we can head down.” he added. Max didn’t seem convinced but let his father pull him along, smiling weakly when Jenson came to his side as well.
“I’m scared.” Max whispered as they headed down the wide stairs in the palace and towards the massive Flower Hall Max had opted to get married in. Jenson held Max’s left hand, while Sebastian held his right.
“We are here with you, okay? And Daniel will love you and take care of you.” he whispered softly. Max perked up slightly at the mention of his husband-to-be's name.
"Okay." He whispered finally, squaring his shoulders as the three of them made their way to the large wooden doors that would lead them into the wedding hall. Lando and Kevin stood waiting near the door, Lando bouncing excitedly on the balls of his feet while Kevin watched on, his hand resting on his belly again.
Max stopped, shaking his head fervently.
“I’m not getting married without Charles!” Max hissed at his family, shooting a betrayed look Sebastian. Sebastian sighed, walking over and taking Max’s hands between both of his own.
“Darling, the whole country is waiting for this wedding. You can’t just-” he started. Max sniffled, tears starting to roll down his cheeks.
“I need Charles.” he hiccuped. Sebastian sighed, turning to Jenson for help, but the older man had averted his eyes.
“It doesn’t feel right without Charles.” he murmured and Sebastian sighed.
“What do you suppose we do then? We’re already an hour late and I doubt it would be appreciated if he broke it all off.” he said worriedly, before letting out a deep breath. “I want him here too.” he added softly. Max had his arms loosely wrapped around his own torso, tears still threatening to spill over.
“Do you think he forgot?” he whispered in a small voice. Kevin shook his head, reaching out to brush a stray tear off Max’s cheek.
“He would never, little cub.” he smiled gently. Max’s shoulders dropped.
“Then why isn’t he here?”
“Wait! Wait! Come on let me in!” they heard a voice yell, rushed feet thumping on the floor before a dishevelled figure came rushing around the corner. Charles’s hair had gotten longer in the year he had been away, his skin tanned and his form more muscled.
He looked even more beautiful.
“Charles!” Max gasped, hugging his twin tightly. Lando and Kevin were quick to join the hug, all crowding around Charles while the young man squealed and kissed their heads.
“I missed you all.” he said. Max smiled shakily.
“I miss you too.” he muttered. Charles looked up, letting out a shaky breath and booping his finger to Max’s nose.
“Come on now. Let’s get you married before we all get sappy.” he said, turning to take Lando’s hand. “We’ll find our seats.” he added, but Max shook his head.
“I want you all to walk down the aisle with me, please…” he whispered shyly. Charles beamed, instantly fussing over his hair and then over Lando’s. Max just watched on with soft eyes, leaning in to quickly hug Charles one last time.
“I’m so glad you’re here.”
Seb and Jenson walked out on either side of Max, while the three brothers walked out behind them. So many heads turned to look at them and Sebastian quickly squeezed his boy’s wrist. Daniel’s eyes said everything the two dads needed to know, that the King was still very much head over heels for their son, and that Max would have a very happy future.
“Mister and Mister Button.” Daniel said with a small bow as they reached him. “Charles, Lando, Kevin.” he added with a small smile at the brothers, before finally bringing his eyes to Max’s.
“Hi.” Max whispered lamely, eyes wide as he looked up at the handsome King. Daniel just grinned, letting Jenson and Sebastian give him Max’s hands. He brought them up to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to his knuckles.
“Hi.” he answered. Max blushed, turning to his brothers for a moment, and then huffing when he saw Charles was wiggling his eyebrows.
“I will take care of him, love him with all I have.” Daniel promised softly when the family seemed reluctant to leave Max. Max smiled breathlessly.
“If you marry me, we are all a package deal, I’m afraid.” he murmured. Daniel’s grin only widened.
“Believe me, I know.”

Charles looked on with a beaming smile as Max sat on one of the beautifully decorated thrones, Daniel to his left with their hands intertwined between them. His brother made a beautiful royal consort, and from the whispers at the party Charles already knew he was going to be loved.
“Hello.” a voice spoke up behind Charles, and Charles turned to find himself face to face with Lewis, the man even more tender and kind looking than he had remembered.
“Ciao.” Charles answered, and Lewis flashed him a smile.
“I see you picked up on some Italian.” he teased. Charles stuck out his tongue.
“Yes.” he hummed. “Just a few sentences.” he added, fondly remembering his time studying in Rome. Lewis walked over, standing next to Charles now, and gently let their hands brush together.
“Do you know ’mi sei mancata’?” Lewis asked. Charles blushed, linking their fingers more firmly together.
“Yes. I missed you too.” He murmured, trying to fight a wide grin off his face. Lewis glanced around, making sure everyone was looking at the new royal couple, and then leaned in to press a soft kiss to Charles’s lips.
“Find me later, I’d love to catch up with you.” Lewis said. Charles sighed.
“I’d like that too.”

“I don’t even know this dance.” Lando complained as Michael dragged him to the dance floor, joining in on the quick jig. Michael smiled, hands curling around Lando’s arms as he made sure to lead the boy along more firmly. The older lord had a fond smile on his lips, chuckling when Lando stumbled over his feet a little.
“You’re perfect.” Michael chuckled when Lando shot him an exasperated look, not seeming to like the dance. The younger boy blushed.
“You’re quite perfect too.” He answered shyly. Michael wanted to speak up again, but then his eyes focused on the necklace laying against Lando’s collarbone.
“Even now you are wearing the ring? Are you sure it isn’t too… shabby, for a royal event?” he asked. Lando shrugged, his cheeks colouring a light pink.
“I don’t care, I love it.” He said. Michael hummed, letting his fingers graze over the ring.
“One day I hope to give you a ring that you can wear on your finger.” He muttered, before chuckling awkwardly. “Sorry, that was cheesy.” He added quickly. Lando sighed.
“No. No I liked it.” He murmured. “And I would be happy to wear a ring from you… another one.” He added just as awkwardly. Michael bit his lip.
“Can I court you? Properly this time?” he asked. And Lando nodded, leaning in to peck Michael’s cheek.
“I would be honoured.”

“Are you sure you don’t want to leave yet?” Nico asked worriedly, helping Kevin sit down and handing him a glass of water. The younger man smiled fondly up at him, hand resting on his baby bump to proudly show it off.
“No, I want to stay a bit longer.” He murmured. Nico nodded, kissing the top of his head and staying on his spot just a step behind Kevin, a hand resting on Kevin’s shoulder while he gently rubbed circles with his thumb in the crook of Kevin’s neck.
“Just let me know when you want to go, okay my Dove?” he whispered. Kevin looked up and nodded, letting out a soft sigh at the older man’s tender smile.
He couldn’t believe how far they had come in just a year, going from fighting to loving each other fiercely.
Although they still found occasionally.
Kevin’s eyes widened, and he suddenly reached for Nico’s hand, making the older man panic.
“Kevin, my Dove what is..?” he asked. Kevin placed the man’s hand on his belly.
“She kicked.” He sighed. “She kicked!” he repeated, an ecstatic smile coming to play on his lips. Nico gasped, tears filling his eyes as he knelt down next to his husband.
“Our little baby.” He whispered, his voice choked up and Kevin just loved him so, so much. Kevin sighed, tears coming into his eyes.
“Our baby.”

“Are you tired, my King?” Max murmured softly as Daniel stifled a yawn. Daniel shot him a look, pulling a face, and then nodded.
“A bit.” He admitted. “And I’m… excited, to be able to sleep with you in my arms tonight.” He murmured. Max felt his stomach tingle at the thought of their wedding night.
He was certain they wouldn’t be sleeping too much.
“Sorry about the trouble before… I just wanted to wait for Charles to be there and-“ he started to ramble. Daniel lifted his hand to press a kiss to his palm.
“I understand, my love. It wouldn’t have been right if he wasn’t here.” He answered. Max smiled tenderly, still not believing how understanding his new husband was.
“They will probably visit all the time. They are idiots.” Max warned. Daniel grinned.
“I already asked Jean-Éric to make sure the spare rooms close to our wing are ready at all times. To make sure they always have a place in the palace.” He said. “Them, and the love interests.” He winked. Max chuckled, before quieting down.
“I can’t believe we’re married.” He murmured. “I can’t wait to start our life together.” He added.
“Just you wait until you’re first day as my husband/advisor.” He murmured. “You’ll regret everything by the end of the night.” He added. Max raised an eyebrow.
“Is that a challenge? Because I won’t lose.” He purred. Daniel leaned in more closely, his lips almost brushing over Max’s ear and his hot breath making Max shudder.
“I do love a challenge.”

“We did well with them, did we not.” Sebastian asked, leaning into Jenson’s side as his husband swayed him along with the music. Jenson looked down on him, eyes soft and fond and happy, and Sebastian remembered the first time they met, the first time they had kissed.
Jenson had always been his happy ending.
“Yes my darling. We did well.” Jenson answered. “We raised four amazing young man.” He added, squeezing Sebastian even more tightly to his side. Sebastian sighed.
“I’ll miss them.” He murmured. “So, so much.” He added. Jenson nodded, leaning in to kiss his temple, and then his jaw.
“Darling, that’s normal. But remember, they will all still be close. I’m sure you will still see them often, also when our first grandbaby is there, looking over at Kevin, who was sitting on the other side of the room with Nico by his side as always.
“They all make me so happy.” Sebastian whispered. Jenson hummed.
“Family first, right?” he said. Sebastian closed his eyes and nodded.
“Always.”
