Chapter Text
Tommy was at home, resting.
Or rather, being forced to rest.
Tubbo was sat outside his door, watching in case he planned to do anything other than lay on his bed and sleep. He sighed, rolling over on his stomach. It didn’t hurt anymore- he’d consumed three of the five healing potions technoblade had given him. And he was kinda numb. Really numb, in fact.
The balcony was an option- he stood, a faint rush of blood rising to his cheeks as he wobbled to his way to the sliding glass doors. He looked out, resting his hands on the railing. The cool night air brushed across his face. He looked down at the ruins to the west.
What had once been-
He looked the other way, to what was now. Ranboo was walking along the path to the BnB, tall shoulders slumped. Tommy’s blood still covered his hands.
Tommy grabbed an ender eye and tossed it towards ranboo, scowling as he transported. He landed in front of the tall boy, arms crossed.
Ranboo started, red and green eyes widening in fear for a second. “You STABBED me.” Tommy hissed. Ranboo nodded, mouth opening and closing. “I know.” He whispered. “Are you sorry?” He asked. The enderman nodded, looking down. “I-i didn’t mean-“
“You’re sorry.” Tommy paraphrased, looking away. Ranboo sighed, wringing his hands. “I’m sorry,” he said softly. “I don’t know what came over me. I… I-”
“You what?” Tommy asked. He was genuinely curious. “I… sleepwalk, sometimes.” Ranboo admitted. Tommy scrunched his face up. “What does that have to do with you stabbing me?” He demanded. Ranboo sat, his legs swinging off the side of the path. “I don’t know how to explain it,” the enderman boy admitted, tail flicking. Tommy sat down next to him, listening.
“It’s… it’s like I black out. I have no idea what I'm doing. I don’t know what it is. Techno called it ‘walking’ but I'm not sure if it’s an enderman thing or if it's just… blacking out and becoming this… other me.” Ranboo stared sadly into the night, the soft light from the torches and windows covering his face. Tommy frowned, puzzling. “Do you have memory problems?” he asked. Ranboo nodded, kind of embarrassed. “I… I don’t remember what I've done. I think… I think that’s what happened when I stabbed you.” he admitted. “I don’t remember stabbing you… or wanting to stab you, I never intended to…”
“I know.” Tommy huffed, staring out. “No one ever means to stab me. I’m too precious.”
Ranboo laughed a little, his trinket horns jangling. “Yeah.”
They sat there in silence for a little while, each contemplating what had been said.
“So… what about Tubbo?” Tommy asked. Ranboo looked up, frowning. “What do you mean?”
“Does he know?”
“No.”
“You should tell him.”
“I…”
“He won’t be mad. He’s Tubbo, he’ll help you work through it.” Tommy pointed out. Ranboo thought for a moment, blinking. “He would?”
“Yeah, of course. He’s like that.” Tommy said. He looked at Ranboo curiously. “Did you not know that? He’s really considerate, you married him, haven’t you noticed?”
Ranboo shook his head sheepishly. “I’ve… I’ve been focused on making a place where we could both be in peace… his life is so stressful… I just wanted to give him a place to stay when it all got hectic…” he murmured.
Tommy looked up, surprised. “You didn’t marry him for tax benefits or something?” he asked. Ranboo looked at him, shocked. “Of course not. I genuinely like him. It’s just not… y’know, romantic.” he shrugged. “It doesn’t have to be, right? Love is Love is Love. Any type of love is good enough for me.”
“You said Love four times in one sentence.” Tommy pointed out randomly, thinking. Ranboo chuckled. “Yeah. Guess so.”

“Sam! Is it done?” he called.
A garbled stream of something came from the pit. He grinned. “I’m coming down!”
Tommy scrambled down the pit, excitedly scaling the sides as the greenhouse came into view. It was magnificent.
Glass and steel, enclosing a space.
It was awesome-
Just needed the finishing touches. He grinned, patting Samnook on the back and handing him a copy of the instructions for the stained glass window. “This’ll work, right?”
A stream of gibberish.
“Right.”
It would work. And when he was done?
He knew exactly what to do with it.

Ranboo’s cakes cooled on the counter. He smiled, waving to Niki as she passed, a collection of flowers in her hands. The icing was prepped, the upper bathrooms were done- just a few more things until opening day. Then he’d take a break. Maybe a nap. In the panic room.
So he didn’t stab anyone.
He sighed, feeling horribly guilty. The door opened, Tubbo walking in.
“You.” He pointed a finger angrily.
“I know. I’m so sorry, Tubbo. I didn’t mean to-“
“Are you okay?”
Ranboo started, the worried look on his husband’s face surprising him. “I- no?” He stuttered. Tubbo rubbed a hand over his arm, eyes bright with worry. “You seemed so off… after what happened,” he said. “And I know you feel so horrible about it, but truly, he’s okay- you only slashed him, he’s not dead and he should have moved anyway…”
Ranboo wrapped him up in a hug, tears forming in his eyes. Tubbo frowned, patting this back. “What-“
“I thought you were mad at me!” Ranboo cried.
“I am! You stabbed Tommy!” Tubbo pulled away, a scowl crossing his face. Ranboo breathed shakily, wringing his hands. “I’m so sorry. I-”
“You didn’t mean to. It was an accident. Tommy told me.” Tubbo sighed. He smiled, patting Ranboo’s shoulder as he sneaked a bite of cake. Ranboo pretended to look away. “He was looking for you, earlier. Said he had something for you.” Tubbo said, chewing happily.
Ranboo frowned, tilting his head. “Yeah?”
“You should probably go find him. I have things here. I’ll also ice the cakes.” Tubbo said, pushing him out the door. “Are you sure-”
“You work too hard. Go.”
The door shut, and he rested his head against it for a moment, sighing.

Tommy was by the pit. Ranboo approached him from behind, tail twitching silently.
“Tubbo said you were looking for me.”
Tommy nodded, his hands crossed behind his back. “I have something for you. ” he said, tilting his head towards the pit. Ranboo frowned. “I stabbed you, you don’t have to give me anything-“
“Take the fucking gift, Ranboo. You want it, trust me.”
Tommy stalked the the edge, picking his way down. Ranboo followed blindly, still confused. They got to the bottom, Tommy huffing as he looked to Ranboo, gesturing with his hands.
“Here,” he wheezed. Ranboo blinked. “It’s…”
“A greenhouse. For you to give to Tubbo.” Tommy explained. Ranboo’s eyes welled up with tears.
“It’s beautiful.” He murmured, running a hand over the smooth glass. “This is the only part left-“ Tommy muttered, going over to a little workstation and picking up a smooth-cut glass circle. It was big- about half Tommy’s size- and had a depiction of his family on it… ranboo smiled, identifying the different glass figures- Tubbo, Ranboo, Michael, and Tommy.
Ranboo’s tears said everything.
~~~~
“Are you ready?” Ranboo said, hands over Tubbo’s eyes.
“I’ve been ready.” Tubbo boasted, antsy. Ranboo smiled, taking one last look at the BnB before uncovering Tubbo’s eyes. “Ta-daaa!” He screeched.
Tubbo gasped, eyes immediately landing on the massive greenhouse covering his garden. “Oh, Ranboo. This is lovely.” He said softly, head resting against Ranboo’s chest. Ranboo smiled, hand on his shoulder. “Go check it out.”
Tubbo smiled, racing into the BnB to find the door to the greenhouse. Tommy came up behind Ranboo, patting him on the back. “You did good, big man.”
Ranboo smiled. “No,” he laughed. “We did.”
Tommy grinned, looking at Tubbo, who waved happily from inside his new greenhouse.
“Yeah. We did.”
