Chapter Text
Kill… All Might? Surely that’s not possible, right? Izuku blinked, before Bakugou and Kirishima jumped to the front of the group.
“Why… Why aren’t the alarms going off?” Yaoyarozu said while staring off into the USJ.
“One of the villains must have a quirk that blocks radio signals, otherwise our other teachers would know about the break-in by now,” Todoroki added after a brief pause from the rest of the group. “Either way, they must be prepared for their goal,”
A haunting silence filled the room. He wasn’t sure if he should’ve said something, but right as Izuku opened his mouth Kurogiri warped around them. Bakugou and Kirishima leapt up from their positions, before attacking the man of mist.
Their attacks failed, them not knowing about the armour brace that protected Kurogiri’s main body, and the pair fell back to be in front of Thirteen. The Pro urged the boys to move out of the way, but before they could use their quirk, Izuku felt the coldness of Kurogiri’s quirk wrap around him.
He could hear some of his classmates get shoved out of the way, but no one could reach him by the time he felt himself sink into the inky, purple portal.
~
The first thing he could smell was burnt wood, and Izuku felt so incredibly hot. Pushing himself off of the ground, he opened his eyes to a field of fire. Blinking once more, he was in the mall, then the warehouse.
Izuku could feel his breath picking up, his hands trembling, and a sensation of oh, fuck, no, no, no , and was about to run to find an exit when he saw the figures of Fumikage and Tsu. Their quirks weren’t compatible in this zone, he knew that, so why were they here?
Allowing his panic attack to persist while he ran over to his friends - his friends for god’s sake why the fuck were they in the fire-
There was someone behind them. They crept up, hands silently raising up, until they were surrounding Tsu’s neck and-

They sat on the ground, clutching their broken wrist as Izuku sneered down on them. Their legs shook as they stood up, wobbling as if they were a rabbit staring at the face of a wolf. The villain then proceeded to high-tail it out of the fire zone.
Izuku pulled Fumikage and Tsu away from the fire zone, where more villains had appeared, and chased after the one with the broken wrist. They were led to a large, red, fireproof door that on the side facing them said “To The Plaza.” Nodding towards his classmates, Izuku pushed the door open with what strength he could manage.
Outside the zone was chaos. Aizawa was busy kicking down any and all villains who dared to step even a centimeter closer to the stairs that held the rest of their class, minus the ones who were also warped. He took a minute to collect his breath, and proceeded to ask his classmates questions.
“Was there anyone else who got warped to our zone?” He asked, but received shaken heads instead of spoken words. Izuku was confused, until he turned around to face Aizawa once more.
He wasn’t were he originally was, and instead was being held hostage by the large… bird thing. Fumikage’s eyes were wide open, and his beak was opened to an amount Izuku would call “Holy shit what the hell.” And Fumikage’s response was earned, to be honest to one’s self. It was like looking into a funhouse mirror of death.
Izuku silently started to stalk over to the plaza against the wishes of his classmates. He moved slowly, careful to replicate the ways that his teachers taught him, and managed to arrive at the plaza just as Shigaraki began to monologue. In the corner of Izuku’s eye, he could see Mineta dash out of his zone. Izuku mentally cursed the fool, of course he didn’t know what Shigaraki was capable of, no one here did, except him.
“What’s this? Imagine how much despair it must bring you Eraserhead, to see one of your students die right before your eyes,” Shigaraki chuckled, before walking over to the area where both Izuku and Mineta were hiding. Izuku cursed under his breath and tried to walk backwards, before remembering that he was currently in a bush and he would be relinquishing his hiding spot.
Shigaraki stopped right in front of the bush Izuku was currently in, before grabbing… Mineta by the arm, minus one finger, and dragging him to the plaza. Slowly, Izuku walked out of the bush and ran to the plaza. He may hate the little creep, but he didn’t want him dead.
He stopped, took another breath before shouting, “Hey! Unhand the pervert or you’ll get it!” Dumbest decision of his entire fucking life, and he really decided to be homeless for two months. Shigaraki turned to him and, with a manic smile, slammed his hand onto Mineta’s face.
Aizawa wasn’t fast enough to stop Shigaraki’s quirk. Instantly, Mineta started screaming, and though he didn’t really care for the little shit, his screams tugged at Izuku’s heart strings. When Aizawa finally started his quirk, a large chunk of the short boy’s face was gone, and if angled right, Izuku didn’t doubt that he would be able to see Mineta’s skull. He felt vomit rise in his throat, clawing at the flesh as he sped up to kick Shigaraki in his stupid, pretencious, incel-acting ass face.
“Hey motherfucker, it must be nice to be Sensei’s special boy, huh?”
“Oh you motherfucking piece of shit, I’ll kill you,” Shigaraki said as Izuku’s foot made contact with his adoptive brother’s face.
However, thanks to receiving the same training as Izuku, Shigaraki grabbed the exposed ankle of Izuku’s costume and activated his quirk.
Izuku could feel the skin and muscle wither and die on his ankle and work their way up his leg. Shigaraki must have taken some drugs, since the quirk was eating away faster than what was normal.
By the time the quirk had worked itself up to Izuku’s pelvis, he knew he was going to die there. Slowly, yet so sure, he held up his middle fingers and flipped Shigaraki off as the quirk ate away at him.

Two beats.
Three beats.
Four beats.
Five beats.
Six beats.
His heart started to slow, to eat away at his lungs and heart until there was nothing left.
He bled out, age 15, with a pseudonym as his only comfort that he wouldn’t get buried next to the charred body of his mother.

Hello everyone, Milo - the author - here. I just wanted to say that I’ll be rewriting this fanfiction, starting with the first chapter. When I first started Five of Swords, I wanted a story along the lines of Mastermind: Strategist for Hire or Looking Glass, but I ended up with crack and talking cats, and a story with a similar vibe to Regenerate, Fate.
Thanks to my increasing writing skill, I’ve realized that the first couple of chapters are shit. This doesn’t even pass the Bechdel Test, for god’s sake. The slow build up I wanted to the reveal of Izuku being the traitor, which would have happened at Kamino, became unavailable as I started to lose interest in My Hero Academia and my other MHA story (Stop Stealing the Groupchat). So, now that I have some sort of recognition of my failure, I’ll be fixing this story. It’ll be posted under a different title, probably something that makes more sense than Five of Swords.
Thank you all for the kudos and love for this story. It truly cheers me up, and I’m sure I can make it up to you.
I hope you enjoyed the last chapter of this… thing I call a product of love.
Thank you. :)
