Chapter Text
After a long fight that ended with them succeeding, the team now had to wait until the ship reached the docks of Hawaii. With Lisa and the other hostages on board, they couldn’t be left alone. As Mac, Magnum and Lisa waited inside the main deck, watching waves of the ocean continuously going up and then back down into the water as the ship sailed, TC had to leave and return to Hawaii with Rick because his chopper was running low on fuel. Matty notified the team that she will be making some calls to have some CIA agents greet them with her when they return to Hawaii with Martinez in tow.
Rick of course reminded that before he and TC leave, there was the problem of returning the boat he had borrowed from his guy. Jack offered to take it back for him, so he got off TC’s chopper and headed straight to the other side of the boat. He got in and started the engine, speeding off towards the docks, where he would meet up with Matty and the CIA agents. Mac and Magnum watched as they saw Jack speeding off in the boat while TC flew away in his chopper, almost as if it was race to see who would make back it first.
Shortly after, Riley, Higgins and Sarah greeted them inside, while the other hostages remained outside, getting some air. Higgins told them to ignore the dead bodies of Martinez’s men lying on the floor and just focus on the ocean and breath in the fresh air as the ship sailed. Once inside, Mac and Riley hugged and so did Magnum and Higgins, while Sarah’s eyes remained directly on Martinez’s unconscious body. Departing from their hug, Mac noticed what Sarah was looking at.
“He’s secure, Sarah. It’s over.” Mac reassured her.
Sarah breathes a sigh of relief before looking at Mac and Riley.
“I know, Mac. It’s just... part of me feels like killing him for everything he’s done. All those innocent people that he tortured and suffered. But killing him would be letting him off easy.” Sarah admitted.
“Exactly. All those people he tortured and made his slaves, deserve justice. They’ll get it by Martinez spending the rest of his miserable life in a 4 by 4 cell and never seeing the light of the day ever again.” Riley told her.
Sarah nodded and agreed with her. Higgins introduced herself to Lisa, hugging her to make her feel safe after everything she’s been through. Lisa appreciated the hug and gladly accepted it.
“Thank you, Miss Higgins. Your partner; Mr Magnum, told me that you and him were hired by my mom to come find me.” Lisa said.
“Yes, you’re safe now and so are those other hostages. We’re taking you all home. And please; call me Juliet.” She replies while smiling at Lisa.
Lisa turned to Magnum and immediately hugged him as well after, who accepted the hug. After the long day they had, a hug felt right and deserved.
LATER ON AT THE DOCKS OF HAWAII...
Mac and the others arrived at the docks and lead Lisa and the hostages to the mainland, where they were greeted by Matty, Jack and some CIA agents that Matty called. Matty returned Riley’s rig to her, who put it away back into her backpack. Martinez, who by this time woke up after his ass kicking by Mac and Magnum, was being lead out by Sarah last as they got off the ship. All the hostages watched and stared at him as he was being lead to Matty, Jack and the CIA agents. They were all disgusted and full of anger. No one could blame them.
“Agent Adler.” One of the CIA agents said, greeting her.
Sarah nodded and handed Martinez over to him and the other agents. They prepared Martinez for transport to the airport, where they will be taking Martinez to the US for trial for his crimes. Sarah was going with them but before she did, she said her goodbyes to the team.
Sarah hugged Mac, Riley and the others, even Matty. She thanked them all for helping her taking down Martinez. She lead Jack away for a private chat.
“So...” Sarah said awkwardly.
“So... I guess this is it.” Jack replied.
“Yeah, it is.” She said.
Jack and Sarah embraced by hugging each other tight. Their eyes closed as they did. Once departed, they looked at each other and smiled.
“You, Diane and the team take care of each other. Be happy and enjoy your life.” Sarah told him.
“We will. Same goes to you and Jeff.” Jack replied.
“Till next time, Jack.” Sarah said as she smiled and waved at him, getting into the transport vehicle with the CIA agents. Jack smiled and waved back at her as the vehicle drove away.
As that was happening, Magnum and Higgins informed the others that they called Lisa’s mom, who had just arrived. The team watched as Lisa and her mom reunited and hugged, tears falling down from both of their faces. Lisa’s mom looked over at Magnum and Higgins and mouthed the words “Thank you.” while she held her daughter in her arms. Magnum and Higgins nodded and smiled at them.
“I guess everything worked out in the end.” Mac says.
“Yeah, it did. We reunited a missing girl with her mom, saved innocent people being held as slaves and helped put a wanted slave trader behind bars. It’s been a hell of a adventure, if you ask me.” Magnum replied.
Mac immediately held his hand out and Magnum shaked it.
“Nice working with you and Higgins.” Mac told them.
“You too, MacGyver.” Thomas replied.
Riley and Higgins did the same as well. Jack eventually rejoined them.
“I don’t know about you guys but I feel like having a drink. What do you say, boss lady ? We got time for a drink at Rick’s bar before we head home ?” Jack asked her.
Everyone looks at Matty, feeling the same as Jack. They needed a drink after today.
“I suppose so.” Matty replied with a smile. The team cheered, mostly Jack as they headed off for a celebration drink.
LA MARIANA, RICK’S BAR... A GREAT PLACE TO GET A DRINK AFTER A LONG DAY OF SAVING LIFES AND KICKING ASS...
Mac and the others entered inside to find Rick and TC greeting them.
“First round of beers are on the house. I’d say we earned it.” Rick said as he brought a bucket of iced cold beers in front of them.
Jack immediately grabbed one and looked at Rick.
“Man, I like you even more.” He said.
Everyone laughed as they opened their drinks and celebrated. While Matty and Jack spoke with TC and Rick; Mac, Riley, Magnum and Higgins cling their beer bottles together and smiled at each other.
“Here’s to working together and maybe one day, we do it again in the future.” Riley said.
“I’ll drink to that.” Higgins replied.
The couples enjoyed their company and the beers they were having for a few minutes before a band at Rick’s bar started to play some Hawaiian music. Mac immediately looked at Riley. Before he could say anything, Riley stopped him and smiled.
“Yes, Mac. I will dance with you.” She told him.
They put their beers down as Mac grabbed Riley’s hand and lead her to the dance floor. He wrapped his arms around her waist, while Riles wrapped her arms around his neck. They placed their foreheads next to each other and smiled, as they moved in sync as the music played.
Magnum and Higgins watched them as they smiled.
“They truly are perfect for each other. They fight to protect each other, always being there and having each other’s back.” Higgins whispered.
“Yeah. They remind me of a another great couple I know.” Thomas replied.
Higgins looks and smiles at him, knowing he’s talking about himself and Juliet. Higgins then kisses Magnum on the cheek. After that, Magnum’s phone goes off. He picks it to see its Katsumoto calling. He puts it on speaker, so he and Higgins can listen to Katsumoto.
“Hey, Gordy. How is it going ? You’ve got me and Higgins here on speaker.” Magnum asks.
“Magnum, i’ve been trying to reach you for the past hour or two but your phone was conveniently switched off. HPD was alerted to a shootout at a fancy hotel in Oahu earlier today, which then lead to a car chase, where things escalated further. Witnesses saw a red ferrari with two men and a blonde women in it, being chased by armed men in multiple black SUVs. You wouldn’t happen to know anything about that, would you ?” Katsumoto asked.
Before Magnum replies, he looks at Mac and Riley who are still dancing in sync together. Higgins follows his line of sight and sees that he is watching them. Magnum smiles and replies to Katsumoto while still watching Mac and Riley.
“Well, it’s a long and funny story...” he replies.
The end.
