Chapter 4: Chapter 4

Summary:

Peter stirs awake the next morning when his phone alarm goes off, yawning a little and rubbing his eyes. He’s a little surprised May didn’t come and wake him up before his alarm like she usually does for breakfast. That’s when he feels an arm around his waist and he remembers he’s not at home. *I’m at the Tower. Cuz Mr. Stark and I kissed… Wait. We kissed.* His mind sort of short circuits for a moment, only snapping out of it when he feels lips on his neck and he lets out a rather embarrassing squeak. He hears a deep and half asleep chuckle from beside him and turns his head to see a very tired looking Mr. St-… Tony looking at him.

“Morning, Pete. Sleep alright? Think you could turn off that alarm?” Tony asks, smiling at Peter as he reaches over and turns his alarm off, muttering an apology. “It’s alright. No need to apologize.” Peter nods and sits up when he sees what time it is, moving to get out of bed when the arm around his waist tugs him back down

Chapter 4

Peter stirs awake the next morning when his phone alarm goes off, yawning a little and rubbing his eyes. He’s a little surprised May didn’t come and wake him up before his alarm like she usually does for breakfast. That’s when he feels an arm around his waist and he remembers he’s not at home. I’m at the Tower. Cuz Mr. Stark and I kissed… Wait. We kissed. His mind sort of short circuits for a moment, only snapping out of it when he feels lips on his neck and he lets out a rather embarrassing squeak.

No need to apologize.” Peter nods and sits up when he sees what time it is, moving to get out of bed when the arm around his waist tugs him back down.

“Mr. St- Tony! Let go! I have to get ready for school.” He says as the older man starts leaving kisses all over his face, making him laugh. “Tony, I’m serious!” He says, finally getting free and shaking his head. “I’ll go get you some coffee real quick, okay? Stay here.” He says, walking towards the bedroom door, still wearing Tony’s t-shirt and sweatpants, not hearing Friday try to warn him that someone is on their way up in the elevator. He opens the bedroom door just as the elevator doors open and reveal Steve. The second they make eye contact, Peter panics and slams the bedroom door shut, his eyes wide. “Um… Tony?”

Sitting up and rubbing his eyes, Tony smiles at the offer to get him coffee only to frown a second later when the bedroom door is slammed shut and he hears Peter’s somewhat panicked voice. “Hey, what’s wrong? What happened?” He asks just as he hears Steve’s voice calling his name and he curses softly, rubbing his forehead. “Alright, might as well get this over with. You can stay in here if you want. Get ready for school. I’ll take you.” He says, not giving Peter a chance to respond before stepping out of the room to see a very angry Steve. “Rogers. Shouldn’t I get some kind of warning before you just show up on my floor? Seeing as this is my Tower.” He says, walking towards the kitchen to make some coffee.

“Tony, cut the crap. Why is Peter in your bedroom? In your clothes? Didn’t I tell you not to do anything stupid?” Steve follows Tony to the kitchen, getting more and more upset as he talks.

“I mean, last I checked, Peter isn’t stupid, so…”

“Seriously, Stark?! What the hell is wrong with you? He’s a kid, for Christ’s sake!” Steve snaps, not in the mood for Tony’s jokes. Tony rolls his eyes and holds his hands up in surrender before grabbing his mug and taking a mouthful of burning liquid.

“Relax, Capsicle. It was a joke. We didn’t do anything. Not that it’s any of your business. Also, he is eighteen and has pointed out that he is an adult that can make his own decisions. You think I didn’t try to talk him out of it? He’s stubborn and he’s made up his mind. Who am I to tell him no?” Tony says, shrugging a little and not looking at Steve. He already feels rather guilty for wanting to be with Peter, he doesn’t need Steve telling him he’s some pervert.

“Tony…” Steve sighs and walks closer to Tony, resting his hand on the shorter man’s arm. “I just… I don’t understand. I thought you said you didn’t want a relationship. That’s why we-”

“Nope. Gunna stop you right there.” Tony says, taking a few steps back from Steve and rolling his eyes. “We broke up because I was done with you being a righteous asshole all the time. I mean, the sex was great, don’t get me wrong. But we fought all the time. It was exhausting. Don’t try to turn this around and make it about us because there is no us, Rogers. Not anymore. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a spider to take to school. Besides, I’m sure you have some punching bags to destroy.” He says, turning to walk back to his bedroom.

“Just think about what you’re doing, Tony. Don’t ruin the kid’s life.” Steve says and Tony ignores him, although the comment still hits him hard. He steps back into the bedroom to see a rather upset Peter, picking at his nails.

“Peter?” Tony sets his coffee mug on his dresser and walks over to Peter, taking the younger man’s hands to stop him from picking. “Hey. Everything okay?” He asks, frowning when he sees that Peter’s eyes are a little glossy and wet.

“I’m sorry. Friday tried to warn me that he was on his way up but I didn’t hear her in time and now he knows and he’s probably going to tell the rest of the team and May. What if you get in trouble with the team or SHIELD and they kick you off the team? And Mr. Rogers is upset with us now. I didn’t know you two used to date. I-” Tony lifts a hand and puts it over Peter’s mouth to get him to stop rambling.

“Peter. Deep breath. As adorable as your rambling is, you’re starting to panic and I need you to not do that. Don’t worry about Rogers, okay? I’ll deal with him. And we didn’t so much as date as we did fuck on occasion. He wanted it to be more, I didn’t because he’s an annoying pain in the ass. That’s all it was. Okay?” Tony says, smiling softly as Peter gives a small nod and seems to calm a little. “Alright. I’m gunna move my hand now.” He says, letting his hand slide to carress Peter’s cheek, smiling when he leans into the touch. He leans forward but instead of kissing him, he kisses the younger man’s nose, laughing when he scrunches his nose up. “Adorable. Now, I believe we need to get going or you’re going to be late.” He says and raises an eyebrow when Peter’s eyes widen and he’s suddenly gone, getting dressed in the bathroom. After getting dressed in a t-shirt and jeans, he picks up his mug and leaves the bedroom, relieved that Rogers is gone, and goes to get Peter’s shoes and bag. Peter comes running out of the bedroom, taking his shoes from Tony and almost falls over putting them on. Tony doesn’t comment on the fact that Peter is wearing one of his hoodies, thinking he looks cute in it and not wanting to call attention to it and make the man self-conscious. Taking his bag from Tony, he practically drags the older man to the elevator so they can get down to the garage.

Luckily, Peter manages to get to school on time but just barely and the day is mostly uneventful. Flash even leaves him alone, which is odd and surprising but he doesn’t think too much on it right now. When school lets out, he’s a little disappointed Tony isn’t waiting for him but just as he’s about to internally panic, his phone dings.

Tony: Hey, Pete. Had some stuff to take care of so I can’t pick you up today but you’re more than welcome to come to the Tower if you want.

Smiling, Peter heads towards the subway, excited to get to see Tony again even though he had just seen the man that morning. He gets on the subway, feeling his phone going off in his pocket.

May: Hey, sweetie. Are you coming home tonight? Mr. Stark called me yesterday and said you two have some big project to work on that could take a few days.

Peter frowns a little at the text, wondering why Tony would have told May that. We don’t have any projects right now. Why did he-… Oh. Oh! He blinks a few times, glad Tony had thought ahead to do that. Although he feels a little bad that he’s spending so much time with Tony. I’ll stay home tomorrow night. He tells himself.

Peter: Hey, May. Yeah, we have a project that needs to be done so I’m gunna stay at the Tower again tonight, if that’s okay. I’ll be home tomorrow night, though, I promise.

The second he hits send, he feels his Spidey Sense go off, the hairs on the back of his neck standing up. He’s not sure why that happens until he hears that voice, only this time, it’s not in his head.

“Peter?” The man says and Peter feels his entire body tense. He doesn’t move, hoping the man will think he’s someone else and leave him alone. Unfortunately, it seems his luck has run out for the day when he feels a hand on his shoulder and he feels like he wants to throw up. He’s turned around and suddenly he’s face to face with the one person he never wanted to see again. “Hey, don’t you remember me, Einstein?” He asks, ruffling Peter’s hair, not noticing or maybe just not caring that Peter flinches away a little. “It’s Skip. Used to babysit you. We were friends forever ago. It’s good to see you again, kid.” Peter can’t bring himself to lift his gaze off the subway floor, his heart beating way too fast. “You alright, Einstein? You look kind of pale. Maybe I should help you home. Don’t want you pass-”

“No!” Peter snaps, cutting him off when the man goes to put his arm around his shoulders. He looks around, seeing the looks people are giving him before looking up and feeling like he’s going to throw up when he sees that all too familiar spark of anger in Skip’s eyes. “N-no, thank you. I’ll be fine.” He mutters, dropping his gaze again.

“Alright. No need to be rude, Einstein. Just trying to help. Maybe I’ll see you again soon.” Skip says, the hand on Peter’s shoulder squeezing a little too hard before letting go. “This is my stop. Good to see you, kid.” He says, his voice a bit colder as he moves to get off the subway, leaving a shaking and panicking Peter standing there. When the subway gets to his stop, he almost misses it but gets off just in time. He walks a bit slow to the Tower, getting there later than normal. He forces a small smile for Happy as he gets onto the elevator, the smile disappearing the second the doors close.

“Good afternoon, Mr. Parker. Sir is still busy at the moment. I will let him know you have arrived. Feel free to get yourself some food if you would like. Are you feeling alright? You seem a bit pale.”

Peter barely registers Friday’s words, his mind replaying the conversation on the subway over and over, still seeing that anger in his eyes. “Hmm? Oh, that… that’s fine. I’m fine, Friday. Thank you.” He says, walking towards the kitchen even though he’s not hungry. He drops his bag by the couch on his way there, opening the fridge but not seeing what’s in it. He closes the door without grabbing anything and goes back to the living room, laying down on the couch with his shoes still on. He’s there for almost an hour when the elevator dings and Tony walks out. He doesn’t seem to notice the state Peter’s in at first as he walks to the kitchen.

“Hey, Pete. Sorry, didn’t think it would take me that long. Did you wanna order some dinner? Pizza sounds kind of good. Friday, go ahead and order some pizza. Usual place, usual order.” He says, talking rather fast with all the caffeine in his system. “Kinda quiet in here. You could have turned the TV on, hun.” He says, grabbing a couple of sodas from the fridge, frowning when he doesn’t get a response. “Sir, Mr. Parker-” “Shit, is he sleeping?” He asks, walking over to the couch and leaning over the back, confused when he sees Peter awake but looking rather pale. “Hey, you feelin’ okay? You look kind of pale.” He reaches out to touch Peter’s forehead, worried he’s getting sick but pulls his hand back when Peter flinches, immediately concerned. He moves around to the front of the couch and crouches down in front of Peter but makes no move to touch him. “Peter? What happened?”

Peter looks at Tony, his eyes a bit dull and glossy as he curls in on himself more. “Tony?” He asks quietly, a few tears slipping free.

“Oh, sweetheart. What happened?” He asks again, his heart aching at seeing Peter cry. “Can I hug you? Please?” He asks, feeling a small spark of relief when Peter nods, waiting for him to sit up before moving to sit beside him. He’s about to hug him when he suddenly has a spider on his lap, face hidden against his neck. “Shh. I’ve got you.” He says, rocking him slowly as he clings to him. He feels tears against his neck but Peter barely makes any noise and for some reason, that worries him more. “Can you tell me what happened? You’re scaring me a little, Pete.” He says, not used to Peter being this quiet. When Peter lifts his head, tears still rolling down his cheeks and his eyes sort of glazed over, his heart breaks.

“C-can’t… I’m sorry…” He mutters, jumping a little when Tony brings his hand up to his cheek. “Please d-don’t make me…” He says, leaning into Tony’s hand a little.

“It’s okay. I’m not going to make you do anything, sweetheart. If you don’t wanna talk about it, that’s okay.” Tony says, leaning forward and pressing a kiss to Peter’s forehead. “How about we watch a movie? Or, we can go down to the lab and work on your suit until one or both of us pass out?” He suggests, trying to get Peter to smile. He manages to get a small one and counts it as a success.

“Can we go work in the lab? Need a distraction.” He says, sniffling a little as Tony nods.

“Of course, we can. Is it alright if I carry you?” He asks, standing up carefully when Peter nods, holding him close. “Hold on tight, hun.” He says, walking towards the elevator. “Friday, can you have the pizza sent down to the lab?” He asks, keeping his voice low as Peter hides his face against his shoulder.

“Of course, Sir. It should be here in about thirty minutes. I will have one of your suits retrieve it from the delivery person.” She responds, keeping her voice low as well.

“Thank you. You’re the best, Fri.” They get to the lab and he walks over to his workstation, setting Peter on a stool and kissing his head. “Do you want to work on your suit or something else?” He asks and Peter just shrugs, picking at his nails a little. “Well… we could always blow some stuff up?” He says, crouching down in front of Peter when that doesn’t get a reaction. “Hey, can you look at me for a second?” He asks, giving Peter a soft smile when the younger man meets his eyes. “There he is. What would you like to do, sweetheart? Anything you want. Whatever will give me my happy little spider back.”

Peter takes a deep breath and thinks for a moment before looking at Tony again. “Um… I guess we could make some stuff blow up? Or work on… on my suit. I don’t know.” He says, wiping at his eyes.

“Alright. That’s okay. Let’s work on your suit. If Pep finds out I was blowing stuff up again, she’d have my head.” He says, glad he got a small smile out of Peter. He stands up and goes over to where he keeps one of Peter’s old suits, knowing the kid just wants a distraction right now. “C’mon, Einstein, let’s- Peter?” He looks over to see Peter tense and very pale. He walks over to him, worried he might pass out. “Easy. What happened? You look like you’re gunna pass out- Peter!” He calls out as Peter jumps up and runs out of the lab. “Shit! Friday, please tell me he’s not leaving. He looked about ready to faint, there’s no way he’ll make it home.”

Peter runs out of the lab as fast as he can, taking the stairs instead of the elevator back up to Tony’s floor. He goes into the first room he finds, which just happens to be a bathroom, and locks the door, having trouble breathing. No, no, no! He’s not here! He… he wouldn’t be able to get in. That… that was Tony. Right? He didn’t know. Calm down!

“Sir, it seems Mr. Parker has gone back up to your floor and locked himself in the bathroom in the hallway. He appears to be having a severe panic attack.” She says and Tony is out of his lab before she even finishes. He gets upstairs in record time and goes to the bathroom door, knocking lightly.

“Peter? It’s just me. Tony. You’re safe. Can you unlock the door for me?” He asks, knowing he could just have Friday unlock the door but he doesn’t want to make this worse. “C’mon, sweetheart. Let me in. Please? I just want to help. You’re safe, I promise. I’m… not really sure what happened in the lab but maybe if you tell me, I can make sure it doesn’t happen again.” He says, holding his breath as he waits, hoping to hear the door unlock. After a few moments, the door lock clicks and he let’s out his breath before slowly opening the door. He frowns when he sees Peter curled up in the corner of the room, realizing Friday must have unlocked the door. He must be really bad then. Shit. He thinks as he walks over to Peter, getting down on the floor but not too close. “Peter?”

Peter’s head snaps up when he hears Tony’s voice, although he barely hears it over the one in his head. He lets out a soft sob and shakes his head. “H-he’s so loud, Tony. Make… make him stop. Please?” He begs, moving towards the man when he opens his arms and climbing onto his lap.

“Make who stop, Peter? What’s going on? I know I told you that you don’t have to talk about it but you need to tell me what’s going on, okay? Just enough so I can know what happened in the lab.” He says, holding Peter close as the younger man cries in his arms.

“He… he was on the subway. I didn’t th-think he still lived in the city. Haven’t seen him in… in years. He’s so loud, Tony. Please. Please make him stop.” He begs, clinging to the man’s shirt.

“Alright. Try to focus on my voice, Peter. I’ve got you. You’re safe, I promise. Whoever it is, they can’t get you.” Tony says and after debating for half a second, he starts singing a lullaby his mother used to sing to him, hoping it will help. Luckily, after a little while, Peter starts to calm down. He’s still shaking but his tears are slowing down and his hold on his shirt loosens a little. He continues singing, though, rocking Peter slowly since that’s seemed to have helped before. Peter eventually lifts his head, his eyes red and wet.

“Sorry. I… I think I’m okay now.” He says, sniffling a little and giving a small smile when Tony kisses his forehead.

“Yeah? It’s okay if you’re not. Think you can tell me what happened?” As soon as he asks, he feels Peter tense and he doesn’t expect an answer. So, when he actually gets one, he’s surprised.

“When… when you called me…” Peter sighs and closes his eyes, trying to keep himself at least somewhat calm so he can explain. “When you called me… ‘Einstein’. Don’t… You can’t call me that. Ever. Please.” He says, feeling nauseous again.

“Okay. Won’t call you that again. Promise. Can I know why? You don’t have to tell me if you’re not comfortable or ready.” He says as Peter shakes his head, clearly not wanting to talk about it anymore. “Okay. Well, I think we should stay out of the lab the rest of the night. How about we go play Mario Kart or watch a movie or something?” He suggests, smiling softly when Peter rests his head on Tony’s shoulder.

“Maybe a movie? I’m a little tired now. We can play Mario Kart next time I stay the night. Or just the next time I’m here after school.” Peter says, his grip on Tony tightening when he stands up, carrying him out to the living room.

“Movie it is. You can pick something while I go get a big fuzzy blanket to keep my little spider warm.” Tony sets Peter on the couch and hands him the remote before walking off to his bedroom. “Friday, get me all security cam footage from the subway today. Narrow it the stop Peter got on to the stop he got off and all stops in between. I need to find out what happened today and who the hell thinks they have the nerve to scare him like that. And no, this isn’t going behind his back. Okay… it kind of is. But I just wanna know what happened today. He’ll tell me the rest when he’s ready. If he’s ever ready.” He says, smiling when Friday confirms and starts getting all the footage she can find. He goes back out to the living room carrying a red fuzzy blanket and drapes it over Peter’s shoulders, kissing his head just as one of his suits walks in with four pizza boxes. They get comfortable on the couch and watch whatever movie Peter had picked out, something Disney, while eating pizza. The rest of the night goes pretty smooth and they soon end up cuddled close in bed, both fast asleep.

The rest of the week was pretty uneventful, Peter went to school, went to the Tower, then went home so May wouldn’t worry or start to suspect anything. They planned to tell her. Eventually. Once the weekend came, Peter has plans with Ned and MJ on Saturday and he’s really excited to get to hang out with them since he hasn’t gotten to hang out with them outside of school basically all week. Which is partially his fault for spending so much time with Tony. Regardless, they have plans to go see the new Star Wars movie and Peter and Ned are super excited. MJ couldn’t really care less but she comes with them anyway. After the movie is over, they go to their favorite frozen yogurt place. They all get their usual and find their table when Peter gets up to go to the bathroom. He’s just finishing up washing his hands when the bathroom door opens, which isn’t too weird since the bathroom isn’t a one person or anything.

“Hey, Einstein.” Peter turns around and freezes when he sees Skip, his mind telling him it’s not real. This can’t be happening. Right? Please tell me this isn’t happening. He thinks as Skip walks closer. “You know, that was rather rude, how you talked to me on the subway. I was just trying to help you and you freaked out for now reason. Seems someone forgot the lessons I taught him. Maybe…” He backs Peter into a corner, one hand grabbing his chin roughly and forcing Peter to meet his eyes, smirking at the fear in them. “Maybe I need to teach you again.” He says just as the door to the bathroom swings open and Ned walks in.

“Peter? Hey, you’ve been gone for a while… is everything okay?” Ned asks, seeing how tense and scared Peter looks.

“Everything’s fine. Right, Pete?” Skip steps back and wraps his arm around Peter’s shoulders. “Just old friends catching up.” He says, his smile faltering as Peter pulls away from him and all but runs to Ned, looking at his friend with wide, scared eyes.

Ned takes Peter’s hand and squeezes gently before glaring at the man claiming to be Peter’s friend. “Back the hell off and stay away from Peter. If I see you again, you’ll regret it. C’mon, Peter. Let’s get out of here.” He says, pulling Peter out of the bathroom and back to MJ. “We’re leaving.” He says, packing up their stuff while getting a confused look from MJ.

“What? Why? I just started my book.” She says, looking at Peter and raising an eyebrow. “Uh… Peter? You alright? You look really pale.”

“I said we’re leaving, Michelle. Now.” Ned says, giving her a look before grabbing his and Peter’s bags and leaving the store with them both. “Do you wanna go to my house? We can work on the new Star Wars Lego set my mom got me.” He suggests, linking his arm with Peter’s while MJ does the same on the other side.

Peter shakes his head and gives them a small smile. “No. I… I’d rather just go home.” He says, about to pull away but MJ and Ned just tighten their hold on his arms.

“Okay. We’ll walk with you. Don’t even try to argue, Parker. We’re not letting you walk home by yourself. Not after whatever the hell just happened.” MJ says, giving Peter a look that says ‘Don’t argue with me’. He reluctantly agrees and they walk him home, although they definitely don’t want to leave him there alone but he insists. Once he’s inside, he feels his breakdown coming but he pushes it down, trying to block out what just happened. Maybe I should tell Tony. Just that someone is following me. I don’t have to tell him the rest. He thinks, sighing softly and shaking his head, walking towards his room after locking the front door. He doesn’t go to the Tower that night or even Sunday night, using the excuse that May has the day off and he wants to spend time with her. He also just goes straight home the rest of the week, using the weak excuse that he has too much homework. At least, until it doesn’t work.

The following Wednesday, after school, he’s leaving the building when he sees one of Tony’s cars parked out front. He sighs and walks over to the car, noticing all the kids surrounding it but not caring as he gets into the passenger’s seat. “Tony, I told you, I have a lot of-”

“Homework, yeah. You’ve said that the past couple of days and I find it hard to believe since you rarely have to take work home because you like to get it done while you’re at school so you have time at night to do the whole hero thing. So, you wanna tell me the real reason you don’t want to come to the Tower?” Tony asks, starting up the car and driving towards the Tower. “I mean, if I did something wrong, you can tell me. I won’t be upset or anything. I’d very much like it if you told me when I did something wrong so I know not to do it again or to fix it.” Tony says, sounding a little panicky.

“Tony, no. You didn’t do anything wrong. I just… I needed to be alone for a little bit.” He says, which isn’t technically a lie.

“Does this have anything to do with what happened on the subway last week?” He asks, deciding not to mention that he had seen the footage from the subway and thinks he might know who the guy is that scared Peter. He sees Peter tense out of the corner of his eye and takes a deep breath. “Peter, you can talk to me. You know that, right? If something happened, if someone hurt you or scared you, you can tell me. Just because you’re Spider-Man, that doesn’t mean you have to deal with things on your own or that you can’t be scared.” He says holding out his hand for Peter to take if he wants. When he does, he squeezes his hand gently.

“I know. I… I can’t talk about it yet. I’m sorry. But, yeah. It had something to do with what happened.” He admits, staring at his lap.

“Okay. Thank you for telling me. And it’s okay that you aren’t ready to talk about it. You know, if you want, I could find someone, a professional someone, that you could talk to. If that would help.” He says, lacing their fingers together as he pulls into the garage at the Tower.

“Maybe. Not yet but maybe. I’ll think about it.” Peter says, letting go of Tony’s hand to get out of the car. He follows Tony up to his floor, dropping his bag by the door and slipping his shoes off. “So… wanna play Mario Kart?” He asks, trying to change the subject. Thankfully, Tony let him and they move to the couch to play. They each pick out their rider, cart, and glider before starting a tournament. After playing a few tournaments, they stop playing although it’s not clear who won. Peter is convinced he won and Tony doesn’t bother arguing with him. After eating a quick dinner, they settle down to watch a movie and Tony falls asleep rather quickly. Peter stays cuddled close to Tony as he watches the movie but when he feels the man tense and shift, he moves to sit up, thinking Tony was awake now. However, Tony’s eyes are still closed and he grumbles something in his sleep, his brow furrowed. “Tony?” Tony tenses more as his breathing picks up, his nightmare getting worse. Peter reaches his hand over and cards his fingers through Tony’s hair, hoping to soothe him. A few moments later, Tony’s eyes snap open and he sits up, causing Peter to scoot back since he had been rather close. “Whoa. Easy. You’re okay. Just a bad dream.” He says as Tony’s eyes scan the room, his eyes panicked and scared.

“N-no. I…” His eyes land on Peter and he blinks a few times, focusing on the younger man. “Peter.” He whispers, letting out a shaky breath as Peter moves onto his lap and takes his face in his hands, kissing all over his face. He smiles and chuckles softly, putting his hands over Peter’s. “Alright, alright. I’m okay, sweetheart. Your kisses are magic.” He teases, smiling more at the light flush on Peter’s cheeks. “And no, before you ask, I’m not talking about it. Just a nightmare. Nothing I’m not used to.” He says, shrugging a little. Although, this one had Peter in it. Would really like it if I never had that one again. Kind of sucked. He thinks, letting Peter pull him up off the couch.

“C’mon, Tony. Bedtime. Let’s go lay down in an actual bed. No arguing.” He says when he practically senses Tony about to argue with him. “I’ll be right here if you have another nightmare, okay? Just like you’ll be here for me if I have one.” He says, pulling his shirt off and moving to get one of Tony’s shirts, slipping it one. He climbs into bed and pulls Tony in with him once the man has changed into something more comfortable, meaning sweatpants and a shirt. He cuddles impossibly close to Tony and falls asleep within seconds but Tony stays awake, not wanting to have that nightmare again.
