Chapter Text
--Sunday, The Next Day--
Cedric walked over to the Gryffindor table to sit with Harry, Ron, and Hermione again.
"It still feels strange to see him walk over here," Ron whispered to Harry.
Harry shushed him as he watched Cedric approach the table.
Harry smiled at him which caused Ron to raise his eyebrow.
"Hey," Cedric said, looking at Harry first then everyone else.
"Hi," Harry answered back.
"Can I sit here?"
"Hmm," Harry pretended to think. "Okay just this time."
Cedric sat beside Harry.
Harry rested his chin in the palm of his hand. He stared at Cedric, smiling like a lovesick puppy. "How'd you sleep?"
Cedric looked over at Harry, tilting his head with a smile. "Well."
"I know," Harry said, bouncing his eyebrows once. "You missed breakfast."
"Well I got in late last night." His expression was unchanging, but his words were sarcastic enough to be familiar.
Harry let out an amused breath.
Cedric smiled.
"What'd you do last night?'' Hermione asked.
The pair looked over at Hermione.
"I was at the lake."
"Oh," she said, surprised. "Harry said that he went to the lake last night as well."
Harry pressed his lips to suppress a smile. He looked at Ron who had suspicious eyes.
"Wait a second. Were you guys there together?" The ginger asked.
Cedric looked over to Harry.
"Yeah, so what if we were?" Harry asked with a high tone, narrowing his eyes.
Ron put up his finger, moving it back and forth between them. "What's going on here?" he asked curiously.
Cedric and Harry met eyes and sent an unspoken signal.
Cedric looked at Ron and Hermione. "We're dating."
They dropped their jaws.
"You are?" Hermione asked.
"I didn't even know you liked him, mate," Ron said to Harry.
"It sort of just happened ," Harry said, rubbing the back of his neck.
Hermione nodded.
Ron still had his eyes wide. "Wow. congrats," is all he could say.
"Thanks," Harry answered shyly.
Cedric smiled softly at Harry. "Do you mind if we leave first?"
Harry looked up at Cedric confused.
"I promised Harry I'd show him something," he explained.
Hermione and Ron nodded. "Yeah, go ahead."
"Thank you."

"What'd you want to show me?" Harry asked.
Cedric leaned his back on the viney alcove. "Nothing," he answered with a smile.
Harry furrowed his brows. "Then why'd you tell them tha-"
"You looked uncomfortable."
"Oh," Harry lowered his eyes. "You noticed?"
Cedric reached out his hands for the brunette. "Of course I did."
Harry took his hand and Cedric pulled Harry closer to him. Cedric held Harry's waist into a hug. Harry grinned, leaning his face into Cedric's shoulders.
Harry inhaled. "You smell good…" he said softly.
Cedric lightly chuckled. He pressed a kiss on top of Harry's head. "You're not too bad yourself."
Harry smiled and looked up at Cedric, his eyes hazily looking into Cedric's. He tiptoed and leaned into Cedric's lips. Cedric returned the favor and leaned down.
And then they lived happily ever after…
