Chapter Text
My alarm clock went off making me jump. My feet were tangled in the sheets making me fall and hit the ground.
"Ouch. "
I rapidly untangled my feet from my covers and stood up regaining my balance. I looked up at the clock I was gonna be late. I grabbed a random shirt and pants from my drawer and began to get undressed. I pulled my shirt over my head.
I quickly ran to my bathroom and began to brush my teeth moving the brush back and forth against my teeth. I ran out and grabbed an apple off the counter. I went back to the bathroom putting my toothbrush down while picking up the apple and taking a bite from it. It had a bitter taste making me squinch my face.
I grabbed my bag and threw it over my shoulder and ran out the door. I hopped on my scooter bike, It was hot out even the breeze was a little warm against my skin. My hair kept going in and out of my face making it hard to see at times. I parked and hopped off frantically unbuckling my helmet. I speed walk up to the school until I made it inside. I went to class and sat down.
The teacher walked in and apologized for being late. He began to take attendance. He got to one girls name stopping on it and calling it out a few times. Voices began to whisper saying things like "but she's never late to class" "she never told me she was sick or anything.. Now that I think about it she hadn't talked to me all night last night" the voices began to get louder before the teacher quieted them down.
I starred out the window for the whole class spacing out watching the clouds pass by slowly. The bell rung so I began to gather all my stuff into my bag. Something felt weird like I was meant to remember something. I shook it off not thinking much of it.
I walked out of the school and onto my scooter bike I looked over to see that one girl walking out of the school. She had black and green hair and she mainly wore black clothes. She had headphones on as she began to walk into a car. I put on my helmet adjusting it a little so it would feel more comfortable. I buckled up my helmet and drove off. It felt like it had gotten hotter outside and the breeze didn't help. I was almost home before I had stopped in front of and alleyway that was making noises. Something about this seemed so familiar . I grabbed my phone and shined the light into the alleyway. There was a little bit of blood that had dripped on the floor heading further into the alleyway. Before I could do much I was pinned to the wall my phone dropped from my hand making it fall with the flashlight down.
I could hear the heavy breathing of the person who had pinned me. Again something about this felt too familiar. They grabbed the flashlight and shined it into my face. I could just berley see much but their defined jaw line. They softened their grip and backed away.
"Holly shit. "
Something about their voice reminded me of someone else bit I couldn't pin a face on it. I grabbed the flashlight and shined it to the wall behind them being able to see most of their features.
"Reki? "
The word had just came out of my mouth but then I began to remember things like how he was at my window or how he had came to erase my memories or how I had gave him the name Reki or at least recommended it. If his name was the key to unlocking my memories.
"Langa?"
He jumped into my arms making me hit against the wall.
"Why didn't I forget?"
"I don't know but I'm glad you didn't. "
I hugged him tighter.
"Me too. "
We stayed there for a while in each other's grasp. I could feel the blood on his sleeves against my skin. I didn't care. It was nice to hug someone. I hadn't hugged someone in a while. Reki had finally backed up.
"Well the others are gonna be mad. "
He chuckled but he seemed nervous or sad.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to remember. "
"It's not your fault, I just don't really wanna go back. "
He looked down at the ground. I wonder why he didn't wanna go back.
"Wanna stay over at my house?"
He looked up at me he hesitated but shook his head. I smiled and grabbed his hand. I got onto my bike and began to put on my helmet. Reki got on behind me and put his arms around my waist making me feel warm inside. I felt something rest against me. I looked back at him who had leaned his head on my back. I turned back to face the road and drove off. The breeze was cooler now that it was darker out.
We made it to my place I parked and we walked inside. I grabbed my extra key and began to unlock the door. Reki walked inside I walked in after and shut the door locking it. He stopped and looked at a picture of me and my dad. He looked at me and walked up to me.
"Can I take a shower?"
I shook my head and he walked into the bathroom. I grabbed some of my clothes and left it at the door. I knocked on the door and told him that I had left clothes out for him. I began to walk away before he opened the door.
"Uh langa?"
I turned around to see him peeking out behind the door. I walked up to him.
"Can you help me turn on the water? "
He looked a little embarrassed. He opened the door fully to allow me in. I kneeled down and turned the knobs. I felt the water. It was hot but not enough to burn you.
"Is that good?"
He came closer and felt the water temperature. He shook his head. I got up and walked out. He looked flush when I left but he peeked out from the door again before closing it and locking it behind him.
