Chapter Text
Today was a good day.
Ranboo was having more fun than usual in school, and it didn't feel like time was trying to slow down any chance it got.
He talked to Tommy and Tubbo during lunch about as much as possible before the bell rang, then moved onto the last class of the day.
Overall, things were going well.
During his last class, a note was passed to him.
Neither of his bestfriends were here with him, so Ranboo could safely admit that he was confused to see a note passed towards him.
Opening it carefully, the letter had a few simple words written.
Meet behind the building after school.
This confused him even more, because who would want to meet up with someone like Ranboo? The abnormally tall and overly anxious kid in class?
Maybe someone wanted to help him with something? Maybe this was important. Yeah. That made sense.
Important.
What didn't make sense was why Ranboo had convinced himself to actually walk to the back of the building after the final bell rang.
He had told his friends to walk home without him, for some weird reason he can't recall.
So there he was, waiting around in the back of the school building, because a 'note' said to. Totally not suspicious. Nope.
Okay, maybe agreeing to something like this wasn't one of Ranboo's best ideas.
A few moments passed, and a group of people came walking up to him.
Ranboo looked at them nervously. Wasn't only one person going to meet up with him? It's not like the note clarified, though.
Maybe this wasn't a good idea at all.
Before he knew it, a group of around 5 people surrounded him. It was hard to make out their faces, and Ranboo realized they were all wearing some type of face covering.
Uh oh.
He laughed, but only out of worry, because What the hell? Why did they surround him?
And then he realized, that Oh. This was a trick.
Now Ranboo was much more afraid of what they were going to do with him, because what were they going to do with him?
One of the people pulled a bucket of water (why do they have a bucket of water?) from somewhere, while two from behind grabbed Ranboo tightly.
Now, he wouldn't be able to run if he tried.
Ranboo doesn't know how he became victim of someone's bullying schemes, but he's absolutely terrified to find out what they even want with him. Maybe he was just an easy target?
None of them spoke, only laughed loudly when seeing Ranboo try to escape from whatever they wanted to put him through.
The ones holding the grip on his arms seemed to be very strong, and intimidating.
Suddenly, Ranboo was soaked with what he presumed to be the bucket with water.
The only sounds he heard afterwards was the laughter of whoever was around him, and the sound of his own weak efforts to kick himself out of their grasps.
Ranboo writhed once again, only this time they let him go, falling onto the ground pathetically.
As soon as he hit the ground, his vision grew dark, and he blacked out.
-
When he woke up again, he noticed that he was sitting up against the brick wall.
He also noticed that two people were in front of him. Ranboo snapped his eyes open at that, because what if they weren't finished messing with him? What if they wanted to-
"Ranboo?" He was taken from his thoughts, and then saw that it was just his friends.
Tommy's blue eyes were laced with concern, Tubbo's looking near the same.
The wind whistled lightly, making Ranboo shiver. He was still soaked.
"What happened? Ranboo?"
Sounds couldn't be made out through the dizziness he felt.
And then Ranboo watched the world be consumed by darkness as he passed out.
-
Light muttering between familiar voices could be heard as Ranboo gained consciousness.
He opened his eyes, wincing at the light.
Ranboo glanced around, recognizing that he was in someones bedroom.
Not just someone's, but Tommy's.
Then the events before he woke up here suddenly came flooding back, and Ranboo shot up from where he was lying with a sharp gasp.
The whispering stopped, and Tommy appeared next to Ranboo, still seemingly worried.
"Ranboo? What happened, Big Man?"
Instead of an answer, he instead tried to just breathe, because suddenly everything felt like it was too muchand he didn't know why but it just did and he found that he couldn't breathe and-
A pair of hands grabbed his own and someone was talking to him in a hushed whisper, althought he just barely grasped at the words.
"Hey, Ranboo? Do you think you can follow my breathing," the someone asked, and Ranboo listened. "Good, You're doing great! You've got this."
It took some time before Ranboo had successfully controlled his breathing, and he sat there for a moment, before Tubbo broke the silence.
"Ice Cream, Anyone?"
Two nods.
"Alright I'll be right back!"
After watching Tubbo leave, Tommy turned to Ranboo, worried, "You know, if you ever need me to beat some bitches-"
"Tommy, it's alright, don't worry about it."
A huff.
A beat of silence.
Just as Tommy is about to speak, Tubbo bursts into the room, multiple tubs of ice cream in his hands, "I've got the ice cream, now who wants to watch a movie!"
-
They all get their fair share of the ice cream, Tubbo somehow eating the entire tub within 10 minutes of the first movie. Tommy took that as a challenge, for a reason beyond Ranboo, and ended up getting a terrible brain freeze.
Around halfway into the movie, Ranboo felt a leaning on his shoulders, and turned to see both Tubbo and Tommy beginning to fall asleep.
Ranboo smiled. This was nice.
Eventually, they fell asleep, Ranboo himself feeling the tiredness kick in, as the movie played continuously in the background.
A warm and fuzzy feeling filled Ranboo.
He felt at home.
