Things always smashed in thunderstorms. On the floor, on the tables, on the walls as Etho tried to dodge them. If he’d been braver, maybe they’d still be intact. If he hadn’t hidden like a baby, maybe his dad would have been proud.
“Ready to go?” Scott asked from behind him, drawing Etho back into his body. “I’ve got the tongs. Cleo’s brother is bringing the salad fork.”
The clouds continued to gather. Etho stared up at them, standing still.
“We can’t go,” he said, unmoving, like a deer watching its fate creep ever closer.
Or, Etho tries to strike a balance between showing up and knowing his limits.

“ Oh don’t look so sad now, little bird. You knew what you were signing up for the moment you begged us to stop the explosion of the Hero HQ building.” Jangler says with an easy smile.
That’s true. Grian grimaces, left hand gripping his arm nervously.
“I do find it ironic though,” Jingler muses, “how the former hero who was the HQ’s favourite got stabbed in the back—”
“Jingler!” Jangler gasps, a hand on his chest.
“Sorry, sorry. I was just saying, no offence.” Jingler shrugged nonchalantly
“…none taken.” Grian lied through his teeth.
OR
Grian, more widely known as Xelqua, meets up with his rivals, the anti-heroes Jingler and the Jangler, strikes up a deal with them after being thrown under the bus by the Hero HQ. In exchange for their help in the upcoming terrorist bombing in the HQ, he exchanges himself in to be theirs.
OR OR
Willingly or not, Grian gets a family.
