Chapter Text
Yui woke up, and actually felt refreshed. Sure, she was just sleeping on the couch, but she hasn't felt this way in a while, and she definitely isn't complaining.
After going to the bathroom to changing into some fresh clothes, (courtesy of Aria), she heard a new voice. “Got this, got that... But I know I'm missing something...”
Yui peaked through the door of the bathroom. When she did, she saw the woman with light brown hair and light pink eyes.
‘Oh, that must be Nana! But what is she doing?’
Nana looked to the side and locked eyes with Yui. She smiled and did a small wave, and Yui did the same, albeit more awkwardly.
Nana then motioned Yui to come near her, or at the very least to come out of the bathroom.
Yui slinked forward, trying too appear small, as she didn't fully trust the Yamazakis yet.
“Oh, are you Yui?” Nana asked with a sleepy smile.
“Y-yes.”
Nana raised a brow. “Why are you stuttering? Do I scare you?”
“Well... Uh,” Yui played with the bottom of Aria's shirt, “Possibly.”
“Ah right, you're not the biggest fan vampires, which is fair, by the way, you meet some bad one's,” Nana started to look for something, “But I'm not going to anything to you, I promise.”
Yui was still a little on edge, but Nana did seem like she was telling the truth. There was also a part of Yui that wanted to believe her for different reasons... Though she was ignoring that part of her for now.
“Okay,” Yui simply responded, “So, what are you looking for?”
“I have no clue. But I am missing something.”
Picking up a pencil, Yui asked, “Is this it?”
“That is it! Thanks Yui!” Nana smiled again.
“It-” Yui held her tongue. She could be sassy, but what if Nana was like Kanato? He seems fine, then... The snap happens.
“So, where are you going?” Yui asked instead.
“School.” Nana replied.
“Huh? I thought vampires would only go to school at night...”
“Most do,” Nana put on her backpack, “But, some half-vampires and human-turned-vamps go to school during the day. Well, afternoon to evening.”
“Ohhh... Wait it's the afternoon?”
“Yep. Hey, you'll basically be all alone in the house. So, do you want to come to school with me?”
Yui got nervous again. A part of her knew that Nana wouldn't hurt her, a part of her knew she was being paranoid, a part of her knew that it would be nice to make new friends, to see new things! And yet...
She couldn't respond. It was a risk she didn't want to take.
