Chapter Text
The whole situation was a mess.
Taehyung was smiling sheepishly at Jungkook while trying to stifle his giggles.
Jimin who had magically appeared out of nowhere tried to look serious but failed at stopping his laughter.
Jungkook was so done with 5 fluffy wolves on him, hugging him without a care in the world.
Yoongi was confused, slowly joining them from the bridge where Jimin and him were watching the sunset a few moments ago.
And Hoseok was in his Fairy Godmother Limited suit, soaking wet from Jimin’s potion.
“What is happening?” Hoseok asked.
“The time has come for the truth to be revealed.” Jimin started dramatically. “I have thrown a truth potion so don’t even try to lie or conceal what you did.”
“What are you talking about Jiminie?”
“I know everything. Stop acting like you don’t know what I’m talking about.”
When Hoseok looked genuinely confused for several seconds, Jimin continued “I know you gave me the drowning kitten task.”
Hoseok suddenly started to smile as his face reflected his epiphany. “Oh that… That’s not me. Jin-hyung asked me to do it.”
“Jin-hyung knows about it?” Taehyung asked, surprised.
“Everybody knows about it. Jin-hyung orchestrated it but Joon, Lisa, Taemin… Basically everybody knew about it.” Hoseok clarified.
“What are you guys talking about?” Yoongi asked as he came closer.
“You tell them, Hobi-hyung.” Jimin challenged.
“Well, Jin-hyung thought you guys were never going to have a love life and decided to take matters into his own hands. He asked me to send Jimin to your apartment, Yoongi-hyung.”
Yoongi nodded. There was a silence. Jimin was looking at Yoongi, expecting a reaction but nothing.
“Are you okay Yoongi-hyung? Are you not… Mad?” Jimin suggested.
“I mean, I should be but it’s you we are talking about, sunshine.” Yoongi went behind to back-hug the fairy. “Without those idiots, I would not have found you, so I guess I’ll just let it go this time.”
“Whipped” Jungkook coughed.
“You’re so soft since you met Jiminie” Hoseok remarked at the same time.
Jimin was so fond. He was smiling and blushing. Taehyung cleared his throat and Jimin realised how their whole plan failed because of Yoongi’s cheesiness. He should have been bothered but he was in Yoongi’s arms so he did not really care about anything else.
“Well, if Yoongi-hyung don’t mind, then I am good too” Jimin said, nuzzling in Yoongi’s neck. Yoongi held him closer.
Taehyung was smiling at them, happy for his best friend. Hoseok also could not help but find them so endearing.
“Well… I am not okay with that!” Jungkook stated from under his wolves. “I mean, I’m happy for hyung and everything but why was I the one that suffered for it all?”
Hoseok smirked “We did not consider that you might not know the name of your crush… Since he is all that you have been talking about for the last 5 years… You know, we thought you would at least remember his name.”
Jungkook gulped, cheeks blazing. “You were obviously wrong so I want you to suffer like I did.”
They were all smiling at the maknae.
“Hobi-hyung, you will receive one wish from Jimin-hyung.” Jungkook said with a smirk.
Hoseok tried to hide his fear. Everybody knew that Jimin’s magic tended to have unexpected side-effects. The fairy was gifted but he simply did not care about all of that. He did not really practice and could not bother to learn all the steps by heart and so his magic often ended in a mess. But they were all very considerate, so nobody ever told Jimin about it.
“Uh… Why? I am a fairy, I have already made all that I need. I don’t need the magic of someone else.” Hoseok tried.
Taehyung could not help but smile at his poor terrified hyung. Jungkook was smirking. Yoongi simply did not care enough, he was just happy hugging his Jiminie.
“As you wish, Jungkook. I mean, I can do it in just 2 seconds so I don’t mind” Jimin replied.
“No, no… It’s really not necessary…” Hoseok continued.
“A love wish. Please Jimin-hyung, please reward Hobi-hyung with a love wish as well” Jungkook asked sweetly. Hoseok sent him a death glare.
“I think it would be unfair if I was the only one… rewarded.” Hoseok replied, hesitating on the last word. “After all, this was all Jin-hyung’s idea.”
Jungkook hummed.
“Fair enough. Let’s get to the bottom of this.” Jungkook concluded.
Everybody nodded, smiling at the maknae that was still stuck under all the wolves.
“Do you need some help?” Tae offered shyly.
“Could you get those wolves off me?” Jungkook asked, not even annoyed anymore.
Taehyung kneeled down and started talking in a foreign language to the wolves. They soon started to stand up and went back to the forest.
“Sorry about that… I don’t have full control over them. I still need some practice…” Taehyung explained sheepishly while Jungkook was standing up, brushing off the dirt from his trousers.
Jungkook just smiled at him and took his hands, leading everyone to Jin’s café.
“So… We are waiting for your explanations Jin-hyung” Jungkook started, trying to look serious.
“Well… How to say this nicely?” Jin started, scratching his head.
After a few seconds, he sighted and continued: “no offense, but when it comes to love, you are all mini-disasters so we figured we would help you out a bit. When Jiminie came to the café, Joon and I knew he would be the perfect match for our grump right there. So, I just asked Hoseok to send Jimin to Yoongi’s flat and then you know the story.”
Jimin and Yoongi nodded and smiled at each other, not offended in the slightest.
“What about me though?” Jungkook asked.
“Jin-hyung and I thought it would be a good idea to give you a love wish so that it would give you more confidence. Taehyung is a fairy anyway so the spell would not work on him. But, if you believed that he liked you back because of the spell, you might actually talk to him and all would have worked out” Namjoon explained.
“We just thought you would know his name” Hoseok added.
“I mean, you crushed on him for years. You hide in the staff room and watch him work during his shift. He literally has a name tag…” Jin continued, looking almost upset.
Jungkook pouted. “It’s not that easy. I was scared to talk to him, so I never got close enough to read the said name tag.”
“It does not matter anyway now. It all worked out!” Tae said cheerfully, taking Jungkook’s hand. He sent his boxy smile at the youngest. Jungkook’s pout immediately disappeared.
They all smiled at the couple.
“How did you find out by the way?” Namjoon asked.
“I was writing my last reports and organizing everything when I realised that Hobi-hyung gave me the drowning kitten task. So, we started organizing a little revenge to expose his manipulation. We just needed to create a little incident and then we knew Fairy Godmother would send a fairy.” Jimin started.
“Wait, wait, wait… So, I got attacked by predators on purpose?” Jungkook asked, insisting on the last words.
“They are not predators Kook” Taehyung started.
“They are apex predators, all the way on the top of the food chain. We are talking about wolves hyung.” Kook refuted.
“My wolves are super fluffy and cuddly. They are not predators.” Taehyung pouted.
“That’s not how it works Tae.” Jungkook said slowly.
“Stop saying my wolves are mean. They are adorable.” Taehyung seemed offended.
“Ok ok… Sorry baby. Your wolves are cute, just like you”. Jungkook said, pecking his cheek. Taehyung smiled again.
They continued to eat and then played games for the whole evening. It was the first time the seven of them were all together. It was comfortable and cosy and… right. They could not explain it but they felt as if the group was finally reunited, whole.
“Are you ready?”
“Yes!”
“So today, I want to do a special format for this video. You guys will notice it’s the first time I let the audio on.”
Jin, Namjoon, Hoseok, Yoongi and Jimin were watching the video at the café, smiling at their friends’ goofiness.
“Wow! It’s so beautiful! We feel so small” Taehyung was saying.
“The view is incredible” Jungkook replied, he then looked at the camera and added “So this is Victoria Peak, you can see the city’s skyline.”
“The skyscrapers are so high!” Taehyung cheered.
The video then cut, and another scene was playing. They were at the waterfront and were talking together, the camera long forgotten.
“Oh it’s starting!”
Suddenly, cracking noises were heard. The skyscrapers were illuminated for milliseconds. It was as if they were testing the system, static everywhere. Then, a classical music started, and the lights started to dance. It was magical.
At some point, a hand appeared in front of the camera. It was laying on the ground and hid part of the show. Then after a few minutes, a second hand joined it, slowly intertwining their fingers.
“It’s amazing”.
Hums.
The hands were still in front of the camera, hiding some parts of the finale.
Jimin paused the video whining. “I can’t believe they are so bad at filming. We literally can’t see anything!”
Jin and Namjoon chuckled.
“They are cute” Hoseok said.
“I can’t believe this is a public video” Yoongi said, shaking his head. He was happy for his little brother, really. Yet, he could not help but cringe at the public display of affection, especially knowing that millions of people were now following Golden Closet. He pressed play again.
The Symphony of Lights continued to play, with the bottom right corner obscured by Jungkook and Taehyung holding hands.
After a few seconds, Jungkook started to say “You’re so pretty” but was interrupted by Tae, giggling, “and I’m cute. Together, we’d be pretty cute!”
They laughed softly, watching the end of the show. As the music faded and the lighting went back to normal, the hands disappeared.
There was some rustling and then “Oh fuck, the camera!”
“We were in front of it, I’m sure they won’t see anything from the show” Tae chuckled.
Jungkook sighted and it was the end of the shot.
“Idiots” Yoongi whispered. Jimin may have smacked his head.
The last part was a bustling night market. The couple were showing off all the street food.
“That’s so good” Tae said pointing to some tofu.
“That’s delicious too” Jungkook replied showing a braised octopus on a bamboo stick.
They continued to introduce the local delicacies, slowly forgetting about the camera again. As they were both sitting waiting for their dim sums, they started a pick-up line contest.
Yoongi was cringing while Jimin and Hoseok were cooing. Namjoon and Jin chuckled.
“Oh I got one!” Tae said.
“Let’s hear it!”
“I’m not a pro photographer like you… But I can still picture us together!”
At that, Yoongi stood up “Ok, that’s enough.”
Jimin looked at him, pouting.
“What babe?”
“When are you taking me to Hong Kong?” Jimin asked.
Yoongi paused for a second and then smirked “Anytime you want baby”.
Jimin blushed furiously, “That’s not what I meant!”
