“At least you have someone in your corner, who can work with you rather than try to control you. I’ll court you to keep other alphas away till it’s safe for you to Recuse. Or I’ll put up a bride-price just to get you away from your father. Or I’ll marry you in a courthouse somewhere and then immediately annul so you can have your autonomy back. Whatever it takes. Anything it takes.”
And Draco realized: he was in love with Harry Potter.
“Surely you know,” Harry said, quietly now, all the wind fading from his sails, “that I’d do anything for you.”

He’d expected to feel pity, but he didn’t. As Voldemort dropped to the ground, his muscles locking up, his skin blackening, his very body turning to ashes, the last thing those red eyes found were Draco—just as Draco came alive with a gasp.
Harry did not feel pity. He didn’t even feel remorse. If Voldemort truly loved Draco, then he’d willingly give his life for him.
And based on the way his red gazed was fixed as it was consumed by fire, that was precisely what he did.

Harry is Harry, and Draco is Draco. They’ve always been tied together, and Draco has probably wanted Harry before he knew he’d been supposed to have him, though he can’t pinpoint the when or why.

Summary
After a long, bloody war, Draco Malfoy just wants to do something good with his life for a change, and resolves to become a healer. But magical society refuses to make it easy for him, and an increasingly dramatic series of events—all of them instigated by Harry Potter—get him kicked out of med school, force him to live in exile, and threaten to destroy the new life he’s trying so desperately to build.
But Harry isn’t instigating anything—at least not on purpose. He’s just trying to work up the nerve to ask him out. His efforts don’t appear to be going great.
