Chapter Text
Lianne
She had been left with a bad feeling ever since yesterdays broadcast was interrupted, and it had grown worse after getting a quick message from Olivert saying that the Minister of Finance had been shot.
And now the radiobroadcast hailed a huge powershift in the empire.
She knew something was wrong, she had to check up on Rean.
Now.
She ran to Teo to say she would travel to Trista, then hurried up to Glacia shrine with Giliath... her husband.
Knowing that he was with her always soothed her worries.
"Argreion, to me." She called out as she arrived before the entrance of the shrine.
"I sense distress in you, has anything happened?"
"There is a struggle for power in the capital, I fear for Reans safety. We must hurry to Trista at once.
"Noted. Calculating the fastest route... Trial grounds makes for appropriate arrival point for a spirit path."
That would put them right with Rean, but...
"I thought you said that they weren't appropriate when I asked half a year ago. What changed?"
"The trials have been-"
Argreion interrupted herself. "I sense a Divine Knight approaching, you should make ready to pilot me."
"Gil, please go back and warn Teo that there might be trouble coming soon. I'll be back as soon as I can."
"Be safe Lianne, I'll be-"
"Divine Knight mana signature analyzed. Valimar is approaching, both him and his awakener is weakened."
Valimar...?
Why would he awaken now? And Rean should have warned them about it...
Giliath took her hand. "Lianne, you remember Rean saying he would have a huge surprise for us in his latest letter?"
"No... please don't tell me he..."
She did not want him to have the fate of an awakener, having a life embroiled in conflict. She wanted him free, free to shine as bright as he could without the world trying to drag him down.
But if he was the awakener...
The world would make every victory and moment of peace hard fought.
CRASH
Valimar hit the mountain wall before coming to rest before them, clearly damaged.
And then Rean excited, along with a black cat. Both of them unconcious.
"Valimar... is that you...?"
She barely managed to catch Giliath before he hit the ground, as she and Argreion was left the only beings awake there.
She activated Roses emergency call, then hurried to check up on the others.
What in the world had happened?
