Nia jerked up. As she looked around she saw the faces of Kara, Lena and Alex staring at her. “Brainy,” was the first words from her lips. “He’s ok, still knocked out but ok,” said Lena. A sigh of relief escaped Nia’s breath. Her friends all huddled around her as she stared at her boyfriend. “You did it,” encourage Alex.

Tonight was the night. Nia had everything planned out. Brainy was still recovering at their apartment which was perfect. They had both been sleeping perfectly and Nia was especially happy when they fell asleep in each other’s arms every night this week. She told Kara what was happening, so no super villain antics interrupting them again (hopefully) this time. Nia had picked up strawberry donuts for their date tonight. As Nia walked into their apartment, the smell of chicken parmesan filled the air. Nia smiled and went in to the kitchen where she saw Brainy cooking away. “Didn’t Lena say you had to rest for a least a week after what you went through wildcat. Brainy turned around. “Yes, but I wanted this redo of our “perfect day” to be great, and given the circumstances of me having to rest and everyone making sure I don’t leave the apartment so I may recover, I decided to cook for you. Nia accepted and sat down. The dinner was perfect. Brainy talked about how he wanted them to have a proper date after Lena and Alex cleared him. Ideas where already swirling in Nia’s head.
When dessert came out Nia made her move. Before Brainy could grab a donut, she took his hand. “Querl Dox, when you were in pain, I felt an unbearable pain as well. I couldn’t stand seeing you like you were. When I went into your mind I saw the many parts of you, I loved every one of them because they were you. I never want to be apart from you. “ Nia then got down on one knee beside Brainy and pulled out a box. She opened it. Querl Dox, will you marry me?
Nia wanted the ring to be perfect and she had the best design in mind. With Kara’s help they were able to locate the gems needed, with Kellie they got the design and Lena helped shape everything. They were all jealous at the finished result. On top was the blue and purple gem emblem from their adventure. “Brainy sat their speechless. Nia could tell he was calculating something. He then spoke. “Nia Nal, your are the best thing to happen to me and the best thing that ever will happen to me. You taught me to be myself, and you loved all of me, through the good and the bad. Yes I’ll marry you. “ Brainy then took the ring and slid it on Nia’s finger. “I love you Nia,” Brainy said after he finished.
“Hold on one second,” Nia scurried off leaving Brainy in confusion. When she came back out of the bedroom Brainy was stunned. Nia came out wearing a low cut white tee and a leather jacket. She wore ripped jeans and leather high heels. She gave herself black mascara and ruby red lipstick. She walked towards a paralyzed Brainy. With her finger, she stroked under his chin lifting him from his seat. With a sly smile, she brought his ear to her mouth. “Now let me show you how I wanted last time to end. She grabbed his hand and lead him to the bed room. The ring then shimmered at the sight of their love for each other, absorbing it forever.
