Chapter Text

Ten months had come and gone quickly. Izuku smiled big as he got his acceptance letter from UA. It was finally going to going to begin, his life as a support hero student. He looked at his room, grinning proudly to himself as he studied the voice modulator he’d made for Shinsou and the new brace he made for Katsuki.

His computer chimed, Discord pinging excitedly as he saw Shinsou trying to get him to join him and Katsuki in the video call they started.

He hopped in, greeted by Katsuki’s voice cracking in and out with Discord’s volume safety. He laughed as Shinsou said, “Dude you can’t scream into the mic! You cut out!”

“You cut out!” Katsuki said with a smirk before looking at Izuku’s face on his screen. “You guys got your letters right? C’mon! We’re going out for dinner. My treat!”

“Damn right it’s your treat,” Shinsou chuckled.

“We didn’t even tell you what our results were,” Izuku pointed out.

“Well you’re not crying and Shinsou isn’t isolating himself so I can assume you losers made it in thanks to my help!”

Shinsou sighed. “Yeah, we did.”

Katsuki blinked as Izuku said, “Shinsou, what’s wrong?”

“I got accepted into the school but I didn’t make the hero course.”

Izuku frowned. “I’m so sorry--”

“Hey, don’t apologize!” Katsuki snapped before frowning at the computer. “If I had to guess, it was the robot battle, right?”

Shinsou nodded, sighing. “Can’t exactly brainwash metal.”

Izuku hummed then smiled. “But, you still have a chance at getting into the hero course your second year. Remember? We saw in the pamphlets they gave us that even if we don’t get into the course, there are recommendations and assessments throughout the terms. So, honestly, you’ll get another shot.”

Shinsou perked up. “Oh yeah. You’re right.”

“Damn right he’s right,” Katsuki huffed. “So, food. Where to?”

“I have an idea,” Izuku said with a smile. “We finished cleaning that old beach. Why don’t we grab some take-out and hang out there?”

--

Izuku smiled as his friends bickered back and forth as he sipped on the coffee they grabbed on the way to the beach, sighing happily as he watched the sunset. He remembered the first week after he got back from the hospital, he and Shinsou took Katsuki to the beach to help Izuku search for equipment. Katsuki, of course, grumbled the whole time, saying it was disgusting that people would ruin the beach.

Izuku had hummed and suggested, “Well, we’re here all the time anyway. Shinsou and I need to bulk up. What if we all cleaned the beach?”

“Why would we do that?” Shinsou asked.

“Cuz no one asked,” Izuku chuckled. “Besides, I think this place could be really nice if it were clearer.”

Katsuki hummed. “That’s not a bad idea.” Shinsou leaned closer. “What?”

“You ever going to tell us what happened when you were missing?” Shinsou asked.

“No. And don’t brainwash me for it. I don’t wanna talk about it.”

Izuku smiled and patted his back. “I’m just glad you’re safe.” He had straightened and nodded. “Alright. Let’s do the clean-up early in the morning before school every day! We can really get this done if we hustle!”

“This thing took nine months to clean,” Katsuki grumbled, leaning against the wall Izuku sat on between the two. “At least your dumb idea worked.”

“It wasn’t dumb,” Shinsou huffed. “Honestly, he got some parts to work with and we got a bit stronger. I’ll take it.”

Izuku smiled then blinked as a voice behind him asked, “You three cleaned up this beach all by yourselves?”

“Yeah, what of it, Skeleton Man?!” Katsuki snapped, glaring at him.

Izuku gulped as he looked up at him. It was All Might, but it was his true form. He gulped as he watched the man taking in Izuku then smiled. “Damn. You kids really hustled. Was it like some volunteer project for school or something?”

“No, Sir,” Shinsou said. “We just needed to bulk up and get him some parts to try practice working on gear for us.”

“Oh. You like support work then, young man?” He asked.

Izuku gulped then smiled a bit. “Not at first. I kinda had a wake-up call. Someone I looked up to said I couldn’t be a pro. Maybe I won’t be a pro like my friends, but I wanna help still. They convinced me that I could do support work. I actually got into the support classes at UA with their help.”

All Might blinked then smiled sweetly. “Congratulations then. You have great friends. You’re all going to UA then?”

“Damn right we are!” Katsuki snapped, making the hero laugh.

“Well, best of luck to you all. Hope I can see you three at the Sports Festival when it happens. Just be careful you don’t overwork yourselves.”

“We won’t!” Shinsou and Izuku said as Katsuki grumbled.

Izuku smiled as he watched the deflated hero walk off, feeling a weight come off his chest almost instantly.

He was ready now.

He knew that for sure.

Notes:

And thus, the story of Izuku turning to becoming a support hero with a new and old friend, and a friend who had his eyes opened to the damage he'd done has ended, but has also just begun. I don't think I'll be doing a sequel but I might do little short stories for them in the future. Thank you all so much for reading! I hope you guys have a lovely day. Thank you so much for the support and comments throughout the story.
