He asked his mom about it later and she told him about soulmates. That your soulmate would appear to you as a soul-spirit in times where you needed them to offer you support. How you could only meet your soulmate if you shared blood with them and formed a bond. It made Izuku look forward to the day where he would meet his soulmate

Yet it was familiar at the same time. ‘How's this possible? I'm dead. I'm a ghost. Or at least, I'm supposed to be. I've never been able to interact with anything other than of course standing on the floor and those vestige weirdos. How and why am I able to do this now?’ He wondered, staring down at his hand. He backed up only to bump into another desk—his old desk. ‘The hell?’
