Chapter Text
When San agreed to meet up with Wooyoung and Yeosang at the cafe, he wasn’t expecting to come out of it with a boyfriend! Well, “boyfriend” but still, it wasn’t what he was expecting. He especially wasn't expecting Yeosang to be his “boyfriend”. If San was honest, he was over the freaking moon. He has always had a soft spot for Wooyoung’s childhood best friend.
They had met because of Wooyoung. He had wanted to introduce Yeosang to his new best friend. San had been nervous because he thought Yeosang would be angry at being replaced but Wooyoung assured him that Yeosang didn’t mind and he was allowed to have more than one best friend.
“Yeosang is too nice to even hurt a fly, you’ll be alright,” Wooyoung had said and to San’s surprise, he was right. Yeosang had greeted him with a shy smile and a nod of his head. Wooyoung had instantly attached himself to Yeosang and San had felt something growing inside him.
San had brushed it off at first but the more often they hung out as a group of friends, he’d get more drawn towards Yeosang. Whenever he smiled at San, San’s heart would skip a beat and he would feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Sometimes when they were walking next to each other while listening to Wooyoung talk all excitedly, their hands would brush against each other’s, and San would feel all giddy and happy.
Wooyoung catches on quickly and gives him an explanation about his feelings.
“You have a crush on Yeosang.”
Everything clicks in San’s head.
He has a crush on Yeosang.
This is why Wooyoung had called him when Yeosang needed a “boyfriend”. San had agreed easily because he decided this was his chance to spend more time and get to know Yeosang better.
And San got to call Yeosang “babe”.
And now San is holding Yeosang’s soft hand as they walked through the busy streets of their city. His hand is smaller than San’s and it’s soft and warm. San is loving every second of this as he tells stories of what he had been up to with Yunho. Yeosang listens to him with interest and San basks at the attention he gives him.
“Should we get some ice cream?” San asks once he spots a small ice-cream parlour.
“Yeah, I think to would be nice on a warm day like this,” Yeosang agrees with a smile and San smiles back before gently tugging at Yeosang’s hand to lead him to the ice cream parlour.
San reluctantly lets go of Yeosang’s hand and pulls his wallet out.
“What would you like?” he asks Yeosang who is also reaching his wallet. San waves his off and says “I’m paying.”
“What? I can’t let you do that.”
“This was my idea so my treat,” San says with a smile, and Yeosang stops before putting his wallet back. San nods in satisfaction. “Now tell me, what flavour do you want?” San asks and Yeosang quickly scans the menu.
“Strawberry sounds good,” Yeosang says and San nods before ordering one strawberry ice cream and a mint chocolate chip ice cream for himself.
Yeosang makes a face at his ice cream and San already knows where this is going.
“Don’t say it.”
“Isn’t it better to just brush your teeth?”
San huffs and rolls his eyes but he is smiling and so is Yeosang.
“We can’t already be fighting on our first date, babe,” San says in a teasing tone. Yeosang blushes a little at the living pet name and San stores that image in his head forever.
He could get used to this.
Holding hands and walking together with Yeosang as if they had always been like this. As if this wasn’t totally fake and it wouldn’t be over after the wedding. As if Yeosang returned his feelings. San’s heart clenches at his negative thoughts and he unconsciously squeezes Yeosang’s hand. to San’s surprise, Yeosang squeezes his hand back and smiles at him.
San’s heart skips a beat. One smile from Yeosang has gotten rid of all of San’s doubts and he finds himself smiling back at Yeosang.
And then Yeosang asks if he would like to stay over his for dinner. San wants to stay, he doesn’t want this to end but he knows that they still need to keep some kind of boundary. As much as San wants to hopefully charm Yeosang, he doesn’t want to make him uncomfortable.
“Inviting me in on your first date? How very bold of you, babe,” San says in a teasing tone and Yeosang blushes. San is definitely going to keep the image of a blushing Yeosang locked in his heart forever. He will have to thank Wooyoung once he gets home.
Also, was Yeosang staring at his lips?!
San is ready to die on the spot, he would die a happy man.
His ears are hot by the time he has left Yeosang and he knows they are bright red.
Why was he acting like a teenager in love?!
San needs to get a grip. He can’t be acting like this in front of Yeosang, he can practically see the little red hears flying around him.
Unfortunately, San cannot catch a break.
Yeosang’s parents are so good to San and he feels so much love from them. He almost feels like he is already welcomed into the family. San also finds it adorable that Yeosang has the same laugh as his mum. It was so endearing.
Then when they are at the aquarium San finds himself getting lost in the magic of the sea. He is running around feeling happy and without holding back his inner child. Yeosang doesn’t judge him at all as he makes a joke about San becoming a missing child if he carries on and even holds his hand. Never in a million years did he think that Yeosang would be the one holding his hand. Yeosang had always been shy and quiet. He also had clearly stated that he disliked people touching him, Wooyoung was the only exception so San felt like he could float away.
And Yeosang called him cute, making San’s heart pound in his ears.
San needs to control his heart or it would burst out of his chest.
But San isn’t known for having self-control.
They sit side by side for a selfie. San is holding his phone up with his free hand while the other hand is still being held by Yeosang. Yeosang has a small smile on his face which makes San’s heart sing in happiness. San throws his self-control out of the window as he steals his nerves and places a kiss on Yeosang’s cheek while quickly snapping a photo and then running away to the gift shop, with Yeosang’s hand still connect to his of course.
They wander around alone in the gift shop. Yeosang says he wants to find something for Wooyoung and San says he should probably get something for Yunho. San is looking around for a funny magnet for their shared fridge when something catches his eye.
It’s a little Koi fish phone charm.
San walks towards it and picks it up, It’s a lovely shade of red and silver. It has wide, innocent-looking green eyes and it reminds San of Yeosang. The Koi fish looks so innocent and sweet. It makes San smile. He decided to get it and then he sees another Koi fish phone charm. This one is gold and silver. Its eyes are smaller and are red. This one looks a little more cunning and even a little scary looking if San was being honest.
It was next to the innocent red Koi fish as if it was there to protect the red Koi fish.
San didn’t have the heart to separate them so he decides he should get the gold Koi fish keychain too.
He forgets all about Yunho when they leave to go get dinner with Yeosang’s parents.
Once again, Yeosang’s parents are good to him. San finds it easy to talk to them and he really feels like family more than anything else around them.
Towards the end of their dinner, Yeosang gets up to go to the washroom and San is left alone with Yeosang’s parents.
“San, we want to give you something,” Yeosang’s dad says with a smile on his face. Ah, Yeosang got his smile from his dad, San thinks.
Yeosang’s mum puts his bag on her lap and pulls out a velvet box. San’s jaw drops. This is not happening, this cannot be happening. Please!
“We can’t tell you when to use this but this is Yeosang’s grandfather’s wedding ring,” Yeosang’s mum explains as he opens the box and places it in front of San. San is speechless. “Yeosang loved his grandfather a lot and we know he would have loved for Yeosang to have it. Meeting you here, we can truly tell that Yeosang is happy with you. So please take this as a welcome to our family and we hope you can use this when the time is right,” Yeosang’s dad says and San can tell that Yeosang’s mum is a little teary-eyed.
“I— I don’t know what to say,” San says honestly. He is suddenly hit with guilt. This shouldn’t be happening, not when their relationship wasn’t even real and especially when Yeosang has no idea how San really felt about him.
“Don’t say anything, just take the ring and be happy with our son,” Yeosang’s dad says and San swears that the velvet box weighs a ton in his pocket for the rest of the night.
San cannot catch a breath.
“Just pick a side and sleep on the bed.”
San’s soul leaves his body.
He lays on the bed, stiff as a board. He tries to fall asleep before Yeosang joins him but he is very aware of Yeosang moving around their hotel room as he gets ready to sleep.
“Good night, San,” Yeosaang says as he finally settles into the bed and San is very aware of his body heat against his back.
“Good night, Yeosang.”
But sleep doesn’t come easy and when Yeosang calls out to him, he cannot help but tease him a little as he can tell that Yeosang is a little anxious. They are facing each other when Yeosang smiles at him and thanking him. San feels his heart skip a beat again. Yeosang was going to be the death of him.
San’s fear of Yeosang being the death of him gets confirmed when he sees Yeosang in a slick black suit. Yeosang looks stunning and if he was allowed to, San would stare at Yeosang forever. Throughout the whole ceremony, San’s attention is on Yeosang. He doesn’t even know the names of the couple getting married. San is too focused on Yeosang and the way he smiles and claps for the newly married couple.
True to Wooyoung’s word, San was whipped for Yeosang.
They enjoy the reception and San feels like he is glowing with Yeosang’s arm around his waist. He is being introduced to all of his family and San can’t help but smile widely. He feels happy to be told that they made a cute couple. When Yeosang gets shy he hides his face in the crook of San’s neck and San can feel shivers going down his spine with every breath Yeosang takes.
San is over the moon.
But once again, the universe reminds him that he cannot catch a break.
He had left Yeosang to go get some drink for both of them. When he turned back around, Yeosang was talking to someone with a small smile on his face. San instantly feels jealousy taking over him as he chugs the glass of champagne in his hand and when he sees Yeosang laughing at what the guy says, he chugs the second glass of champagne too.
San knows he is way in over his head when he marches up to Yeosang and the random dude who was clearly flirting with him and demands to get his boyfriend back. He also knows that he has probably done the stupidest thing ever in front of his crush but San doesn’t care. Yeosang is laughing at him when he explains that he had some fizzy drinks. His heart skips a beat at the way Yeosang laugh and smiles at him.
San is still a little dazed when the dances start. He watches the couple as they do their first dance and San’s mind wanders. He wonders what it would be like to hold Yeosang close to him and dance together like that. He wonders if Yeosang could enjoy it and be happy to dance with him.
“Hey babe,” he finds himself calling Yeosang, his mind having a moment of clarity.
“Yeah?” Yeosang asks and San looks at him.
“Wanna dance?”
Yeosang nods and San is over the moon again as he leads Yeosang to the dance floor. They naturally find each other pressed together and arms wrapped around the other’s body. San is still a little dazed but he was going to treasure this moment forever. He would forever remember the way Yeosang’s forehead was pressed against his, eyes closed, a small smile on his face and in his arms.
San decides there and then that he needs to be brave and tell Yeosang exactly how he feels.
The rest of the night is a blur but San remembers the promise Yeosang made with him.
“Promise, I’m not going anywhere. I will be here with you.”
With those words ringing in his head, San heads off to Yeosang’s workplace, the nursery. It had been a few weeks since they had come back to reality. San had wondered if his drunken promise meant anything to Yeosang. Maybe he had just said it to get San to stop his drunken ramblings. San’s resolve crumbles easily when Yeosang is no longer around him. He has to wonder if Yeosang even liked him as a friend after the way he had embarrassed himself at the wedding reception.
He was so stupid.
Wooyoung had rolled his eyes and told him to either take the leap of faith or to shut up about his crush on Yeosang. Wooyoung was sick and tired of the apparently “mutual” pinning.
“Shit like this is only supposed to happen in a badly written cliche romance drama!” Wooyoung yells at him and San has to admit. San should really just be brave.
He takes a deep breath as he holds a bouquet of flowers. He asks the receptionist where Yeosang’s classroom is. The receptionist had given him a weird look at first but once he noticed how nervous San was as he held the bouquet, she smiles softly and tells him the direction.
What he sees makes him happy that he chose to come and visit Yeosang at work. Yeosang has a wide smile on his face, sitting in a tiny child-sized chair while he is surrounded by a group of children. They are watching him in amazement and Yeosang is basically glowing.
San’s heart starts pounding in his chest and he isn’t sure how long he stood there watching Yeosang.
“Who is that teacher?” the voice of one of the children brings San back to reality.
“Ah, he is San…my…” Yeosang struggles.
“Boyfriend!” another kid says happily and claps her little hands together and San feels his cheeks heat up.
“Teacher has a boyfriend?”
"Yes! I saw them at the aquarium! Holding hands!"
This starts a debate among the kids and as the kids start to talk amongst themselves, Yeosang gives San an apologetic look before clapping his hands to get their attention.
“Come on, your parents are waiting for all of you,” Yeosang says and lines the kids up before leading them out but not before leaving San to wait for him here.
San isn’t sure what to do on his own so he starts looking around the classroom. The walls are decorated with the children’s artwork. Every piece is labeled with a name. It’s written carefully and full of love and San just knows Yeosang wrote every child’s name by hand, probably with a smile on his face late into the night at home.
San is so lost in thought he doesn’t realist Yeosang has come back.
“Hey, it’s been a while,” Yeosang says with a smile and San jumps a little.
“Yeah…” San agrees and his eyes are wandering again.
“Everything ok? You’ve never come to see me at work,” Yeosang asks.
“No..well yes…it’s weird,” San says before finally pulling the bouquet from behind him. “I missed you,” San whispers, stealing his heart and preparing for the worst. He also realise that that may have sounded a little creepy as they weren’t even close enough friends to be missing each other. “Sorry, that was a weird thing to say,” San adds.
“No…it makes me happy,” Yeosang says with a smile. “I missed you too”
San’s poor heart starts running a mile a minute. Yeosang had missed him. San cannot believe his ears. San is frozen but then forces himself to speak.
“These are for you…” San says shyly and offers Yeosang the flowers he was holding.
“They are beautiful, thank you, San-ah,” Yeosang says.
They stand there silently for a minute or maybe even two.
“Do you remember…the night of the wedding when we got back to our room, what I said to you? Or what I promised?” Yeosang asks.
San’s heart beats faster if that was even possible. He was now a little nervous.
“I actually remember the whole night…I’m so sorry for the way I behaved towards your friend and then for making you take care of me,” San says as he looks down at the floor.
“It’s okay, I had a good night with you…also he wasn’t my friend…he was the blind date my mum wanted to set me up with,” Yeosang explains with a laugh. “So I was glad that you made a scene about the whole thing, my mum even called after we got back to say I was really lucky to have someone like you”
San groans and says the first thing that comes to mind.
“How am I ever going to face your parents?”
Yeosang laughs San’s eyes widen at the implication. He is ready to make an excuse when Yeosang cuts him off.
“So you’re thinking of seeing my parents again?” Yeosang asks with a raised brow which makes San blush.
“But I guess you will have to, I have a promise to keep after all,” Yeosang says before putting the flowers down on his table and walking towards San.
San is a little surprised but he cannot help but hope a little.
“Can I kiss you?” San, once again says the first thing that comes to mind but he doesn’t regret it as Yeosang nods and slowly closes his eyes.
Yeosang’s lips fit perfectly against his like a missing puzzle piece. San can’t help but wrap his hands around Yeosang’s waist and pull him closer as he deepens the kiss and Yeosang responds just as enthusiastically, making San’s heart pound against his chest. San can feel the love radiating off of Yeosang and he hopes that Yeosang can feel his love too.
When they pull apart, their foreheads are pressed and Yeosang’s eyes are closed, his face flushed and his lips are red, a little wet, and slightly swollen. The sight knocks the air out of San’s lungs. He is taken back to the moment where they had danced together and San had decided to come clean about his feelings. San knows he did the right thing.
A silent, I like you is left lingering in the air.
________
“I’ll miss you,” San says sadly and Yeosang laughs.
“I’m glad someone will,” Yeosang replies and lays a soft kiss on his lips.
“Focus on work, this is important so don’t worry about contacting me, alright?”
San nods sadly. He was about to go away for a week for a business trip.
Yeosang says and squeezes San’s hand and he squeezes Yeosang's hand back. They stare at each other for a few seconds before San remembers something.
“I got you something…” San says before letting go of Yeosang’s hand.
He reaches into his pocket and pulls out the gold Koi phone charm from the aquarium. He had been holding onto it since their “date”. San had wanted to give it to Yeosang for the longest time but he didn’t know when the right time would be. They had only been official for about a few weeks and he wasn’t sure when would be a good time to start giving Yeosang gifts for no reason.
“I got it at the aquarium…” San trails off as he shows Yeosang the phone charm.
“It’s so cute,” Yeosang says with a smile and San smiles back at him before placing it in Yeosang’s hand.
“Something to remember me by,” San says and then pulls out the red Koi phone charm. “This one is for me to remember you by,” San says and shows it to Yeosang, whose smile widens.
“Thank you, San-ah…I will take care of it,” Yeosang says and San wants to kiss him again.
He naturally holds back the urge but then remembers that he is allowed to do so now so he leans in and kisses Yeosang.
This was going to be a long two weeks and San was right. He cannot focus on work and he feels frustrated. He wants to see Yeosang and hear his voice.
He paces up and down his hotel room. Yeosang was busy with his own work so he didn’t want to bother him but he cannot help himself
He ends up getting his phone and having his finger hover over the call button next to Yeosang’s name (or “Babe” as he had saved Yeosang’s number under). He isn’t sure how long he stares at his phone screen but then it suddenly starts to ring, freaking him out. He lets out a little noise in surprise.
It’s Yeosang!
He almost drops his phone in excitement.
“Yeosang!”
Yeosang laughs.
“Nice to hear your voice too,” he says and San feels like he is floating in the air.
“I missed you, San-ah.”
“I missed you too.”
“I can’t wait to come home,” San says and Yeosang laughs again. San loves the sound of Yeosang’s laugh but he wants to be there with him to see it.
“Me too…” San trails off and then he gets a strong urge to say he loves Yeosang. San bites his lip. He thinks he would scare Yeosang. They had only just gotten together and were still learning things about each other. It was too soon and he shouldn’t say it.
“I love you, San.”
San’s heart bursts.
“W— !”
“Sorry…I know it’s too soon and you don’t have to say it back. You don’t even have to feel the same way…I just wanted to let you know…” Yeosang trails off and San is left speechless.
The silence lingers and San knows he needs to say something but he is so surprised. Yeosang was always shy and San was normally the one to take the lead. He never would have thought Yeosang would be the one to say it first.
“…San…say something please,” Yeosang sounds sad and like he is holding something back. San realises he is holding back a sob and he hates himself for putting Yeosang through this.
“I love you too, Yeosang,” San says happily and he hears Yeosang’s soft gasp. “I wanted to tell you right now too so I was just a little surprised you said it first, sorry for making you worry,” San says and Yeosang lets out a breath.
“Good.”
“Good.”
When San gets back home, Yeosang runs to him and practically throws himself on San. San laughs and holds him tightly as he spins them around. They are laughing together and share one of their sweetest kisses. The softest of kisses which is full of so much love both of their hearts feel content.
“I love you, Yeosangie.”
“I love you too, San-ah.”
Their foreheads pressed and San once again is taken back to the moment of their first dance and then to the moment of their first kiss.
San knows that he is supposed to be right here in Yeosang’s arms.
_________
The ring feels heavy in San’s pocket.
He feels antsy.
It had been about five years since their misadventures as a fake couple. Five years since he had received the ring from Yeosang’s parents and three years since they had confessed and agreed to date for real.
Since then they had gone to see Yeosang’s family again, went to meet his family, gone on countless dates and drips together. They had also gone through some hard times. Things weren’t always rainbows and sunshine. There were moments of miscommunication, fights, and even heartbreak. They had found their way back to each other every time and worked through things together. They were also each other’s strongest support when each of them went through different trials of life. Over time they had become stronger together and had come to understand each other better.
Everything was so perfect and San knows Yeosang loves him and he loves him back.
But right now, he was nervous beyond belief.
He had asked Yeosang to meet him at the very cafe where all of this had started. Yeosang had gone out with Wooyoung, Wooyoung knowing what San was up to agreed to distract Yeosang for the morning before walking him to the cafe (and then hiding so he can take lots of pictures).
San is sat at the exact table as he twiddles his thumbs, Wooyoung had texted him that they will be at the cafe soon, about 10 minutes ago so they would be here any second now.
Oh God, this is a bad idea.
He is ready to run away but wills himself to stay.
“San!”
“Hey, Yeosang,” he greets Yeosang with a small nervous smile.
Yeosang walks up to him and gives him a quick kiss before sitting opposite him.
“Wooyoung left already did he?” he asks, still feeling nervous.
“Yeah, he said she had work to do,” Yeosang replies as he puts his shopping bags down.
“Did you have a nice time?” San asks.
“Yeah, it was nice to have a shopping day,” Yeosang said with a laugh.
San then gathers his nerves and reaches for Yeosang’s hand. Yeosang smiles and takes his hand in his before they intertwine their fingers.
“Remember five years ago?” San asks.
“Oh yes, that feels like a lifetime away now,” Yeosang says as he gets a nostalgic look on his face.
“I was just thinking how fun it was to be your fake boyfriend,” San says with a laugh.
“Are you saying you want to go back to being my fake boyfriend?” Yeosang says flatly.
“Oh no! Never!” San says in panic and Yeosang laughs. “I just can’t believe that was five years ago and remembered how we started.”
“Aw, are you being sentimental?” Yeosang asks and San blushes a little but nods slowly anyway.
“But that isn’t the point I was trying to make,” San says before putting his free hand into his pocket. He lets go of Yeosang’s hand and stands up before getting down on one knee.
Yeosang gasps.
This cannot be happening.
“San! Don’t!” he is panicking but he is also filled with joy and his eyes start to burn suddenly.
“Yeosang, I have known you for so long now and if you asked, I honestly couldn’t tell you when I started to fall for you, nor could I tell you what I would do if you suddenly decided I wasn’t good enough for you,” San says as he opens the box.
The tears start to roll down Yeosang’s face.
“Your parents gave me this ring five years ago and told me how much it means to you and I hope I can give it to you along with a lifetime of happiness because I want to do nothing more than to give you love and joy for the rest of our lives, together. Will you let me do that and make me the happiest man in the univ—”
Yeosang pulls him up and hugs him. Yeosang is crying tears of joy but he is unable to say anything.
“—verse? Will you have me? Will you marry me?” San finishes softly as he wraps his hands around Yeosang who holds him tighter.
He doesn’t need an answer, he knows just by the way Yeosang is holding him. San is over the moon and he knows Yeosang feels the same.
“Yes, a hundred times yes,” Yeosang whispers as they finally let each other go after spending a few minutes holding each other.
They then connect again to share a kiss.
“Are you crying Yeosang?” San asks in a teasing tone.
“Oh shut up and kiss me again,” Yeosang says and San laughs before he happily claims Yeosang’s lips again.
Of course, both San and Yeosang receive a flood of photos from Wooyoung and lots of messages of congratulations from all their family and friends.
They couldn’t be happier.
_________
“These tuxes are really heavy and uncomfortable,” Yeosang says as they step into their hotel room.
“Well it’s a good thing all of it is coming off soon,” San says as he wraps his arms around Yeosang and leaves kisses down his neck.
“San…” Yeosang moans his name softly.
“Yeah, I like the way you moan my name,” San whispers and starts to work on taking Yeosang’s tux off.
At first, Yeosang tries to fight him off, he still had so much to do, take his make-up off, shower, put his things away but when it came to San, all of his reasoning went out the window. Yeosang ends up just giving into San’s demands and turns into putty in his arms.
San turns Yeosang to face him and admires Yeosang’s beauty before kissing him and starts to push his blazer off his shoulder. San drops the blazer on the floor before he starts to work on the waistcoat. Yeosang’s hand grips the lapel of San’s blazer tightly and pulls him closer to deepen the kiss. San moans into the kiss and he can feel Yeosang smiling against the kiss. Once Yeosang’s waistcoat comes off, San gently pushes him on the bed and takes another moment to admire Yeosang's beauty before he pushes his own blazer and waistcoat off. He holds Yeosang’s gaze as he starts to unbutton his dress shirt.
“You looked so beautiful tonight. It was hard to control myself,” San says before he leans down and starts to unbutton Yeosang’s dress shirt. Once it’s off San starts to leave another trail of kisses down Yeosang’s neck and works down his body. San looks up at Yeosang for a second to give him a devious smile just to inform Yeosang that he would not be getting any sleep tonight before his hands start working on Yeosang’s belt.
It was indeed going to be a long night and San had all the time in the world to enjoy Yeosang.
Their new wedding bands shine in the light as they spend their first night as a married couple.
_________
“San!”
“Yes, babe?”
“Our adoption papers have been accepted!”
San jumps on his feet and runs to Yeosang who was in the living room.
“Really?!”
“Yes! Look!” Yeosang says excitedly as he turns his laptop to San.
San’s eyes scan the laptop screen and gasps when he sees that they had indeed been accepted. He feels his eyes burning. They had been waiting so long. There had been many frustrating moments of this process and lots of sleepless nights.
San had not enjoyed seeing Yeosang stressed and worried as they waited and went through the long process. Yeosang had asked San what if they weren’t good enough and what if they never find a child who would want them. San had held Yeosang tightly as he cried and San always did his best to comfort him but he knew that these worries would never go away until they got through.
But now San was holding Yeosang tightly as they let tears of joy fall.
“I love you, Yeosang,” San says between sobs.
“I love you too, San-ah,” Yeosang says with a bright smile and Yeosang looks beautiful despite the tears.
They share a sweet kiss.
They couldn’t wait to bring their child home and to give them all the love they deserved.
________
San didn’t know that there could ever be another human in this world he could ever love as much as he loved Yeosang and yet here he was, watching the love of his life holding their new baby. Yeosang is sitting in the rocking chair, cooing softly at their baby. San is standing by the door as he watches.
Yeosang looks tired, his hair messy, and dark circles very visible under his eyes.
It was 3 in the morning and their bundle of joy had woken up crying. It had been Yeosang’s turn to get up to console their baby but San didn’t like being in bed without Yeosang for too long so he had gotten up too. He had wanted to come and help but watching Yeosang like this filled his heart with so much joy and love for the two most important people in his life.
San is taken back to the moment where he had gone to Yeosang’s nursery to confess.
Yeosang has the same joy he had being surrounded by the children he taught and San feels the same love he had felt that day for Yeosang.
San knows exactly where he belongs and it’s right here with Yeosang and their baby. San doesn’t regret anything.
He walks towards Yeosang and wraps his arms around both him and their baby as he looks over them.
“Hey,” Yeosang whispers.
“Hi,” San whispers back before he lays a soft kiss on Yeosang’s forehead.
“I love you, San-ah,” Yeosang whispers and San cannot help but smile.
“I love you both, so much,” San whispers back and San knows that he would do anything for both of them and he would give his heart to both of them.
