Chapter Text
Rory was done with all her classes for the day, and ended up going to the courtyard to sit at ‘her’ tree. Of course, the tree was taken, and the man under it wouldn't budge, so she had to go to the library. Ugh. She started making her way to the closest library, but stopped suddenly when she thought of the spot from yesterday. She can go study there! So, she went to get her car, and left for the dead poets boutique.

“Hello, Rory” said Dorothea, greeting her as soon as she walked in.
“Hey Dorothea- Miss Dorothea- Miss- Ma’am?” Rory said, confused, not knowing what to call her.
“Just Dorothea is fine darling,” The owner of the boutique laughed. “How can I help you today?”
“Well, I was wondering, if I could study here? It seems kinda peaceful and everything, and my usual spot at Yale was taken and I didn’t feel like going to the library because it was gonna be filled due to the exams coming soon and all that but it’s fine if I can’t I mean this is a boutiq-'' Rory said and Dorothea cut her off.
“Shh, of course it's fine! You and your friends can hang out here and study whenever you want. It may just say boutique on the sign , but I want this to be a spot where people can get together to hang out, shop, read, whatever they want. And it would be nice to have some company here every once in a while.” She told her.
“Thank you so much!” Rory said and moved forward to hug her but then realized she had just met her yesterday. “Uh…” she said, not knowing what to do.
Dorothea just moved forward and gave her a hug, making her smile. It was like having a younger version of Mia in front of her.
“I’ll be at the desk, let me know if you want any snacks or anything.” Dorothea told her, smiling and left as Rory nodded.
Rory spent an hour or two studying, and halfway through Dorothea came in with a mug.
“Coffee” she told her and Rory just smiled and said thanks.
They ended up talking a little, and she told her about Lorelai, and Star’s hollow. Dorothea told her about how she used to live in London, and had a son about Rory’s age studying at Oxford.
(sorry I forgot to mention miss lily van der woodsen is british in this)
After talking for an hour, drinking more coffee, and browsing through some of the books at the shop, Rory finally left and went back to her dorm.

Rory was on the couch, reading, when she got her phone pinged.

L - Hey Ace, you home?

She looked at her phone, confused, and then answered.
-----
R - Uh yeah...? What’s up?
L - Just wanted to make sure you were there ;)
R - Ok… but why?

Rory stared at her phone for a few seconds but there was no reply. What was going on?

R - Logan?
-----
She waited another minute and when she still didn’t get a reply she decided to go back to her book.
But of course, just as she opened the book, there was a knock on the door. She got up and went to open it.
“Hey Ace.” Logan smiled, standing in front of her door, hiding his hands behind his back.
“Logan!” She said, confused but happy to see him. “Uh come in, what’s up?”
“Nothing much, just thought I’d take you up on your offer.” He said, coming in with a smug smile.
“My offer?” Rory asked, confused.
“Mhm” he said.
“And what offer would that be?” She asked.
“Movie night” he told her, smile and hands still in place.
“Oh! Movie night! Yes!” Rory said, suddenly remembering their talk.“So, did you bring the supplies?” she asked, now excited.
“Supplies?” Logan asked.
“Yes, the supplies! They’re the most important thing!” She said, “The food. ” she said when he looked at her with his face scrunched up.
“Food?” Logan asked, face still scrunched up, hands behind his back, but a smile broke through.
“I- Yes the food!” she said. “Why are you smiling? What’s behind your back?” she asked, noticing he wasn’t moving his hands from his back.
“What do you mean what’s behind my back Ace? It’s just my hands.” he told her, now smiling a big smile.
She glared at him, and put her hands on her waist. Then, she moved forward to try and snatch whatever he was holding, but of course he dodged her, now laughing.
“Logannnnn” Rory whined. “Just show me the damn food!” she said, hitting him on his arm.
“Ok ok Ace,” Logan laughed, showing her the bag filled with junk food.
Rory looked at the bag, proud he got enough candy for the two, and then ordered pizza. They decided to watch how to lose a guy in 10 days, after Rory found out he hadn't seen it, and situated themselves on the couch.

*andie's purse falls over* {video 1 in the yt playlist}
“They’re gonna go through it aren’t they?” Logan aske, seeing the items of the bag scattered out on the screen.
“Shhh watch the movie” Rory told him, trying to hold back her laughter, having seen the movie 100 times.
*ben find the tickets*
“Of course it’s the Knicks ticket!” Logan shouted.
“Shhh! Keep watching” Rory said, her mouth filled to the brim with popcorn, making him look at her and smile. “Look!” she said and he turned to see about three or four men walk in with white rose bouquets.
“Hm, roses should've been red” Logan mindlessly commented.
“Hey! White roses are good too!” Rory commented, seeming upset, while he just laughed.
‘... or maybe he found the Knicks tickets?’
“Of course she did it on purpose!” Logan said, raising his hands in the air, making Rory laugh.

“She's a vegetarian isn't she?” Logan said, looking at the screen knowingly.
“How?!” Rory said, choking on her candy.
“I don't know what to say Ace, I guess I'm just… psychic?” Logan said, wiggling his eyebrows, grinning.
“Sure you are” she said, throwing a twizzler at him.
He just caught it and started eating, grinning.
‘Mary had a little lamb, little lamb… little lamb *squeal* you have to take it away before i gag…’

‘... do you happen to know the score of the Knicks game?’
‘Do I look like someone who knows the score of a Knicks game?’
“No she doesn't.” Logan said, chewing, at the same time as Ben.
“Hey! That's mean!” Rory said, hitting his arm, and he shrugged.
‘... nothing wrong with the barley, my boyfriend thinks I'm fat!’
“Huh?!” Logan said, immediately, eyes wide, jaw dropped.
Rory just laughed.
“Did she seriously just-” Logan started, shocked.
“Mhm” Rory cut him off, giggling.
‘I don't think she's fat’
*customers glare*
“Oh man, the death stare.” Logan said, feeling bad for the guy.
*andie goes in the back and starts watching the game*
“She’s eating meat! And she's watching the game! How is that fair?!” Logan shouted.
“Ok, soldier, calm down and watch the movie” Rory said, patting his shoulder, laughing.

“Princess Sophia?” Logan asks, confused, his face scrunched up.
“Keep watching.” Rory tells him, already unable to hold in her laughter.
“Oh my-” Logan choked on his popcorn, laughing, and Rory rubbed his back.
‘You can't name my- my… member, princess Sophia!’
‘Yes I can’
‘Listen, listen. If you're gonna name a- a- a member, you gotta name it something hyper masculine, like- like…’
“Krull Warrior King?!” Logan shouted, choking once again, making Rory laugh.

*andie shows up at ben’s work* {video 5 in the yt playlist}
“There’s a dog in her purse.” Logan notices, confused. “Ace, why is there a dog in her purse?”
“Just watch.” she said, smiling.
‘Honey look what I got for us!’
“Oh good god” Logan said, realizing what was about to happen.
“She named it Krull!?” he shouted, as soon as he heard.
*andie takes out the khakis*
“Oh god, matching clothes.” Logan groaned,
“Hey! They're cute!” Rory defended
“Sure the ar-” *andie starts kissing ben* “Woah that was fast- ok.” Logan said
‘Woo boys night!’
“She's gonna crash poker night isn't she” Logan said, shaking his head.

*andie shows up with a photoshopped family album* {video 6 in the yt playlist}
“He's gonna need more than a sip of beer to handle that shit” Logan said, and Rory glared at him.
‘We don't have children!’
“Oh boy” Rory said.
“He's gonna get in trouble for that one.” Logan added.
‘... and that's our wedding, and that's us on…’
“Ok nope those are super creepy, I don't like them.” Logan said, visibly shivering.

Logan looked at the screen, pouting, disappointed.
*andie makes ben put out his cigar*
“Come on man! It's poker night! Let him have his damn cigar.” Logan said, upset.
*and his friends’ cigars too*
“His friends too? Seriously” he asked Rory, who just shrugged, smiling.
‘Peekaboo’
“You jumped!” Rory laughed, when Logan was taken by surprise and jumped off the couch, earning a glare from him, as he cleared his throat and got settled again.
‘Blow’
“I- she can't just”, Logan said, speechless.
“Come on, it's funny.” Rory said, laughing.
“No it's not.” he said, seriously.
“Yes it is.” she repeated.
‘Healthy boy’
Rory burst out laughing, and Logan let out a little smile and a chuckle.
“Ok, maybe it's a little funny.” he caved.
“See!” she said.
*andie looks up at the shelf noticing their love fern*
“Oh shit it's dead!” Logan said, realization dawned on him, the same time as andie.
‘No honey it's just sleeping’
“Ah, Matthew McConaughey,” Rory said, looking dreamily at the screen.
“Ace, you want me to leave you alone? Just the two of you?” Logan joked.
“Yes please” she replied.
“But he killed the fern, you don't want a guy like Ace” he told her.
She turned to him, and they looked into each other's eyes, with soft smiles.
Of course, they had decided to turn off their phones before the movie, so there would be no distractions… and at that exact moment…
