“Darn it! I can’t see anything through this underbrush! Why did I ever think to leave you in charge of taking shortcuts Owlbert? You suck at directions worse than Rainestorm, I’ll tell you that.”
At the current moment, traversing on foot through the Enchanted woods, was a rather disappointed Eda, and a very roughed-up Owlbert.
A few moments earlier, a large branch had caught the tail-end of Eda’s broomstaff, which caused her to jolt off the staff and into a conveniently placed bush of Whistle-thistle. Even as she carefully plucked each of the thorns from the landing from her skin and tossed them behind her, she could hear the annoying, high-pitched wailing they released as they came out from under her flesh.
“Honestly, I’m reminded of why I hate these things so much. I used to shove Lilith into Whistle-thistles all the time when we were witchlings! It was fun to watch her flail around, but the sound the thorns made every time it happened made me near-deaf at an early age.”

NOTICE UPDATE: May 20th, 2025
I have been away from this story for.... let's just say a very, very long time. It'd be fair to note, that I have never forgotten about it, that I actually keep coming back to it quite often, and that I have every intention to finish it, especially for those of you who so thoughtfully kudo'd, shared, commented, and enjoyed it! TOH is still a show and fandom I hold very near and dear to my heart, even after all these years, and I have no intention of leaving this story dead in the water.
However, I feel like you all deserve some explanations for at least the reason I've been away from this fic for so long, and to cut it short: I graduated from full-time college, and am now on my way to attending university for chemical engineering. For the past couple years, I have been through heck and highwater trying to collect all my necessary course requirements, pre-requisites, and credits needed to upgrade and pave through the way of my degrees while trying to keep some modicum of a work-life balance. The balance part, quite obviously, failed. I have chapter 3 of this story written, and actually had a few drafts written for this fic up through chapter 8. As I did not have a computer when I first began writing this, I kept all those drafts on a shoddy iPhone 10 with very limited storage--you can probably tell where this is going. Short-form: all those precious drafts are long gone, and with school piling up, I couldn't find the time or creative freedom to attempt re-writing them at all, and even briefly lost interest in the fandom.
Now that I am graduated and in a bit of an educational lull right now however, I have decided to rise from the dead and try to continue this story, and hopefully, this time at least, get around to actually finishing it. Again, I thank everyone who've been so patient these past few years, and I hope that though my writing style may have changed quite a bit, you can still enjoy this fic as I meant for it to be.
