Chapter Text
Techno ran out of the school. He was swift and agile, so no one could have noticed that he had left the school borders. He then ran and hid for a couple of minutes – which was roughly around six minutes – until he heard whimpers that sounded oh too familiar to him.
“W- Wilbur?” Techno said as he walked into a dark alley. The cries got louder.
“Wilbur, is that you?” Techno asked. A silhouette appeared and it looked just like his brother that had not arrived at the school. Techno got closer and saw a face filled with tears that had not been wiped off. He saw a uniform that had looked as if it had just come out of the dryer.
“Oh… Wilbur,” Techno said, crouching down at the silhouette. Wilbur’s backpack was beside his knees and his hands were covering parts of his face. Techno held Wilbur’s hands and tried to pull them down, but Wilbur persisted and kept them up at his face.
“Wilbur, do you mind letting me see your face? I want to make sure if you’re physically okay,” Techno asked.
A couple of seconds had passed as Wilbur was processing what Techno had said. He was thinking about what he should do. Should he do what Techno told him to do or not? He did was Techno asked him to do. He couldn’t stop Techno from doing what he was supposed to do. Techno was just being a good older brother and you always need to obey your elders. That’s what Wilbur was taught many times.
Slowly but surely, Wilbur placed his hands down onto his knees. Techno gasped at the sight. Wilbur had gotten into some sort of fight. But how? Techno or Tommy would have noticed. Was it during Tommy’s and Techno’s moment? Was it when they noticed that they were going to be late for school? Was it when Tommy left the house? When did the fight start?
“Oh, Wilbur. We need to get you fixed up; do you think you can still go to school today?” Techno asked as he stared at the dark purple, almost black, bruises that walled up Wilbur’s cheeks and chin. If you didn’t know what happened, you probably could have thought that it was just thick makeup that he put on.
Wilbur’s eyes were locked with Techno’s arms, his head was facing down, so Techno was in a weird position, but he didn’t mind. He was taking care of his brother. His younger brother that was always kept away from the world and deserved more than he got. But hey, life isn’t fair.
Wilbur blinked three times before nodding his head. Techno slightly frowned, then said, “Well if you are going to school in this state, then you must love school that much. You know how close my relationship with our history class is, but whenever I’m sick or hurt, I always take a rest day. Is that not what dad would tell us whenever we’re sick?”
Techno looked at Wilbur’s eyes and they were glistening like the stars in a dark, pitch-black night sky. The tears that were caught up in the center of his eyes were like the tiny lights in an unlit room. Wilbur blinked one time before nodding his head.
“So, are you still going to go to school or are you going to stay at home and get some rest?” Techno asked.
Wilbur blinked once for a long time then blinked once more – which was short. He nodded his head and did the same thing but added an extra blink at the end. Techno noticed these sudden changes in Wilbur’s actions but passed them off until it became a pattern on the way back home.
Wilbur blinked four quick times in a row, then paused. He blinked once, then paused yet again. Then he blinked once, then a long blink, then two short blinks, then another paused erupted. Finally, Wilbur blinked one short blink, two long blinks, then one short blink.
Techno realized that it had been over fifteen minutes, which was too long for a sixteen-year-old boy to be in the bathroom. If you had one of those minds, you would have thought that he was doing something else that wasn’t related to his brother at all.
Wilbur’s abnormal blinking continued. Over and over again.

Once Wilbur and Techno were in the house, Techno let Wilbur sit down as Techno got the first aid kit and medicine. Techno was a very loving brother and son. He may appear very blunt to others, but the closer you are to him, the more you know him, which means that he knows you, which means that he will either love you or hate you.
Techno loves Wilbur.
Techno put alcohol onto the cuts that were on Wilbur’s face. Unlike most people, Wilbur did not flinch. He had gotten used to these kinds of things that there was no need to have a reflex. It was like a normal thing that happened. Like if you would get your blood tested, you could cry if it were your first time, but if it’s your fiftieth time, you shouldn’t cry as you have gotten used to getting your blood drawn.
Techno put all sorts of bandages on Wilbur’s face and arms. Wilbur refused to let Techno see his arms from the elbow and up, and Techno could not see his legs of any other part of his body, in which Techno respected Wilbur’s decisions. Techno was slightly proud that Wilbur was telling him what he wanted. Maybe Wilbur was slowly warming up to him more.
Wilbur’s abnormal blinking arc still continued. During the moments of Wilbur being bandaged up, the only thing heard was the breaths that each boy breathed out. No voices had interrupted the silence that they lived in. When Techno had finished patching up Wilbur, Techno had sat down onto the couch beside Wilbur and made the first move.
“Wilbur?”
Wilbur looked at Techno, still continuing to blink in a certain pattern that started to look familiar to him. Techno had read about this once, but he had never thought that Wilbur would talk through it. Well, he could as Wilbur was quite literally stuck in his room almost all the time if he had the time. Wilbur could learn about anything and everything when he’s up in that room of his.
Techno waited until Wilbur had looked at Techno in the eyes, but his eyes soon staggered off and instead drifted onto the soft cushion that Techno sat on.
“A- are you saying, ‘send help’ in Morse code to me?” Techno asked.
Wilbur nodded and he stopped blinking.
“Is there something that you’re hiding from me, Wil? You know that you can tell me anything. I’ll be with you at all times, you know that, right?”
Wilbur nodded, his blinking had resumed, but it was back to “normal.”
“Why don’t you tell me anything then? I’m not forcing you to tell me anything, but I just want to know. Just in case I’m causing you to build a barrier between our sibling love. I know we’re not by-blood, but you’re still my brother and I want to protect you at all costs. Dad would too. And when Tommy’s brave enough to fight off bad guys, he’ll protect you as well. We will all be protecting you."
Wilbur nodded repeatedly and started to cry. Techno pulls his arms out, letting Wilbur know that he can hug him. Techno knows a lot about Wilbur’s past, and he knows that Wilbur needs time to process whether he’s going to let someone hug him or not. Even his own family.
Wilbur scoots closer to Techno and curls up into a ball. Techno knows that he’s going to get a detention for missing probably about forty-five minutes of the class, but he doesn’t care. He’s finally protecting his brother after seven years of being a family.
Wilbur’s head is buried in Techno’s chest, just like how Tommy’s was almost over an hour ago. Wilbur cried. He continued to cry for many minutes. Techno wasn’t the best at comforting other people, but he tried his best when it came to people that he cared about. So, he just rubbed stars onto Wilbur’s back. That’s what his mother did when he was crying as a child, and it calmed him, so why not try it out on Wilbur? Maybe it could calm him down like it did for him.

Wilbur was asleep on the couch when Techno received a phone call. Techno took the phone from the kitchen counter and looked at the number. It was from the school. Techno had forgotten that he was still in his school uniform and that he still had a life at school, not just at home. Techno picked up the phone and answered it.
In a very deep voice, Techno said, “Yes?”
“Is this Philza Mine-Craft that I am talking to?” a woman had said. It was “the snotty secretary,” Ms. Patricia Williams. She was very snotty and super extra nosey. And yet she herself wonders why she’s called “the snotty secretary.”
“Yes, you are talking with Philza Mine-Craft, but feel free to call me Philza. Now, what is the reason for your calling?” Techno had said in his best Philza impersonation voice. He wasn’t worried that he would get caught. He’s literally Technoblade, what is he not good at?
“Well, I have something to tell you. Your son, Technoblade Craft, has left school. He reported to his maths teacher, Mrs. Rebecca Wilson, that he was going to go to the bathroom, but instead he disappeared from the halls and went outside of the school barriers. Perhaps, is your son with you?” Ms. Patricia Williams said.
“Why, my son doing that? Well, if I do remember correctly, I strictly told Techno to go back home and take care of his younger brother, Wilbur. Wilbur is currently quite sick, and I am currently at work, but if Techno did follow my orders, then he should have not come back to school and told you about what I told him,” Techno said. His Philza voice was slowly slipping away and turning back into its original form.
“Oh… well, I am sorry, but your son asked to go to the bathroom. Not to leave the school. However, he must pick his things up from school. They are still in his maths class, and they have already transitioned to their next class. I am afraid that someone will take his things.”
“I will tell Techno to pick them up. I am afraid that I myself cannot leave work as we all need our pay check for the week,” Techno said before clearing his voice.
“Alright, I shall leave you now. Thank you for confirming where your son is. We will send his belongings to the office where he will pick them up. Good day now.”
“Good day to you as well,” Techno said before ending the call. He sighed in happiness and brought pain killers and some water to the couch where Wilbur laid on. Techno then wrote a note to Wilbur saying where he was, at school getting his bags from the office, just in case he woke up from his nap.
It was 9:14 A.M. and Techno went out of his home, still stuck in his school uniform. His slowly drying school uniform.

“Hello, I’m here to pick up my bags,” Techno said and saw his bags in a messy pile in the corner where the lost and found box was.
“It’s over there,” the snotty (and nosey) secretary said in a lousy voice. She sounded way different from how she sounded on the call just ten minutes ago. But her fake voice always sounds too good to be true.
Techno got his bags and left the school.

When he arrived back to his home, Wilbur was still sleeping. He was out like a dead battery. But at least he was sleeping and getting some energy. All of that crying must have worn him all out. Well, crying for like 10-15 minutes should have made you tired by a bit if not a lot. Techno felt bad for Wilbur. He always has.
How did Wilbur even get into a fight that early in the morning?
Wilbur isn’t a controversial guy, so why would anyone hold a grudge against him? He doesn’t even talk to them, so why be mean to Wilbur in the first place?
Oh wait.
Techno almost forgot about the most important thing.
Humans are stupid most of the time.
And they get very stupid when it comes to other people.
And he means very stupid.
