Chapter Text
Do not lose sight of me when I fall onto a platform of dust.
Do not lose sight of me when you find me in an abyss of black, murky water that shakes when I am three feet above it.
Do not forget that I am human, and so are you. A love that is controlled by disturbing thoughts will only turn into mayhem.
Guide the men to safety when I am lost at sea for wonders are to be found.
We dance in the rain like the cowards we are.
The rain contains a surplus of salt which covers our open wounds. I itch in pain as the crystals dig into my skin. I yearn to float away in a vast sea of white snow, yet all I get is the devil shattering my thick skull.
We are not lionhearts, but rather the heart of mice. We are brave, but silent. However, I was born with a defect. I am not brave. I am silent.
I shake with pain as I write this letter. But if you are given this, a part of me has dissociated from this world and off to another.
No, I am not gone forever. I have just walked on the wrong path my entire life, so I never noticed that you were getting farther away from me.
Make the men calmed when they are distressed.
If you are distressed, let the thin lining that you once held be thick with bravery and courage.
Our minds are not weak, hence a letter from the weakest contains the pain that yields their heart.
I dreamt of glory as a child but did not receive it. Instead, I received a sword going into my chest. My chest tightens every day, and it gets worse.
I have walked on thin ice for years that have passed by so slowly. Let me be as I rest in a bed made from the black feathers that covered my body when I was born, like how the sun touches your skin when you cry.
I am far gone from here, so do not come to rescue me from here.
Farewell for the last time.
Earnestly,
Wilbur S.
