Summary
Max, Charles, Alex, Lando, Oscar and Kimi have been missing for six months.
George Russell has been going crazy trying to find his missing nestmates for six months.
Reunited at last only lasts about five minutes before George's wings are ripped off his back and the people he's fought so hard to find and keep reveal the extent of their captivity. Having been tortured by a robot that wore George's face, reintegration into society is proving to be very difficult.
To save the six previously kidnapped winged-hybrids and help them heal, the flock send George off to prevent triggering the newly traumatised flockmates. In the process, George ends up needing support as well, ripped away from the people he loves and thrust into a hostile environment without his wings.
Unfortunately, it's easy to forget that someone drowning in four feet of water is just as dead as someone drowning in twelve feet of water, and leaving one person's wounds to fester and rot in order to save someone else will still end in one dead body.
If only his flock realised that sooner.
