Techno doesn't know what came over him at this one moment. In his head he knew what he needed to say, just type no, just call him a nerd, say no, that they're just friends, laugh at him a little, and everything goes back to normal. Dream somehow finding out about his crush on him gets buried under seven layers of emotional blockage and they both make this a funny story to laugh about in the future. The easy way out. Its the easiest way out but for some reason, the thought of doing that makes his chest ache, makes his eyes tear up at the thought that Dream will never know about what Techno feels about him, that Dream will always consider him as a friend, that he'll one day find someone to love who wasn't such a coward and actually confessed to him.
Techno hates that thought more than anything, more than orphans themselves, which is frankly a big deal for him.
He clears his throat, leans in, and after repeatedly slapping himself mentally, speaks as loud as he can get without his voice cracking.
