Don't I disgust you?
Those words made her turn to look at him, what the hell had they done to this child, of course it was a strange malformation that gave him two tails but not so much as to cause disgust towards him.
She looked at the child who was looking at him with hope in his eyes, he looked so fragile, as if the answer he gave her would seal his life.
Rouge thought her next words carefully, this child was in a very delicate state and she did not want to be the cause of making him worse.
What a bad day to not be good at dealing with children.
Summoning up her courage she made her move.
Rouge placed her hand on the boy's head who was a little surprised at the sudden counting, the boy looked up to see Rouge's face, Rouge patted him while smiling at him.
-I think that makes you that much more special- Rouge answered honestly to the fox's question, the boy's eyes lit up at the answer.
Rouge smiled proudly in her mind at her successful attempt at the boy's reaction but once the boy's eyes filled with tears she got scared.
Huh?, why is he crying?, wasn't he happy a second ago?
Rouge didn't know what to do to calm him down, she didn't have any experience with children, she was about to panic, but then the boy spoke.
-T-Thank you, thank you very much...- He sounded as if his voice was going to break at any moment during the sentence.
God seriously, what had they done to this poor child?
She couldn't just abandon him, and taking him to whoever was taking care of him if there was anyone was not an option, probably taking him to an orphanage would be a better one, he was around 8 years old so he will have no problem being adopted, But....
Rouge looked at the boy's 2 tails, probably because of his tails the chance of him being adopted is very low.
Rouge sighed internally in frustration.
What if we keep him?
That idea crossed her mind but she had to deny it immediately, she was a thief, treasure hunter and club owner, these three things already took most of her time, taking care of a child would only make everything more complicated.

Rouge looked at the boy who was now only breathing irregularly who now seemed to feel safe next to her.

-M-Miles Prower.-
-Very good Miles, ¿do you have someone to take care of you, a relative or something?- she already knew the answer to the question, just by looking at the boy she knew he didn't even have a home, but she had to make sure of it, if it turned out that he had someone to take care of him and love him then she could leave the boy without feeling guilty, besides there was still the small possibility that he was a lost child.
The child's eyes darkened losing all light and his gaze was caught in nothingness.

The boy looked like he was going to break down in tears at any moment, but then Rouge asked a question the boy never expected to hear.
-In that case...- Rouge knelt down in front of the boy so that she could look him in the face and placed her hand gently on his shoulder, -Do you want to live with me?-
Once that question came out of her mouth the boy looked at her again, his eyes came to life again, but now there was something different, something new that she couldn't explain, it was as if his gaze felt truly alive.
Rouge could not help smiling.
