After a few hours of awkward conversations where Kai didn’t have a lot of the required context he had finally gotten Red Son to explain what the samadhi fire was. If Red Son was to be believed it was like, an extreme wildfire that could destroy the universe, so, no pressure. Kai thought it was strange that both Mei and Red Son were fire elementals, as Kai had believed that there was only one elemental master for each element. Kai was beginning to think that this was another realm as a result, and he wasn’t quite sure how he got here.
“Hey Red Son, I was camping out in that forest for a bit, and I think some of Mei’s outbursts with the fire caused my fire powers to be out of control,” Kai said, “is that supposed to happen?”
“You have fire powers?” Red Son asked incredulously, “I find that kind of hard to believe.”
Kai replied by shooting a blast of fire directly at Red Son’s face, who reacted exactly as you would expect, “Hey! What was that for!?” He spat, his hair bursting into flames. Mei was sitting on the ground, recording the whole thing.
“But yeah I’ve felt it too, whenever Mei has her outburst and the samadhi fire goes haywire, my powers flare up, and it’s hard to keep them contained,” Red Son said, “but if I focus on it, then typically I can keep my fire under control.”
“Huh, I can’t control it at all when it happens, I wonder why that is,” Kai said.
“Maybe it’s because I'm simply better than you,” Red Son replied self-righteously.
“Doubt it!” Kai replied with a grin.
“Is that a challenge?” Red Son asked, and Kai could not tell if he was being sarcastic or not.
“Nah man, I’m just messin’ with ya,” Kai said, as that seemed like the best way to avoid a fight.
“I’d like to challenge Kai!” Mei said with a grin.
“You sure you won’t have another outburst?” Red Son sighed.
“Yeah, mediation will probably be the best course of action,” Kai added.
“Oh c’mon, why?” Mei groaned.
“The best way to control a fire is by knowing how to put it out,” Kai started, “and elemental powers like ours are based on our emotions, for me I’ve noticed my powers are strongest when i'm feeling intense emotions.”
“And meditation teaches us calm, focus.” Red Son added, moving around a small flame to act as an example, “how to harmonize the wild energies and emotions burning within us, and to focus them, so we might use them to SMITE OUR ENEMIES and DESTROY ALL THOSE who were trying to STOP US!” He yelled, focusing a blast of fire into the sky.
“That’s a bit violent, but whatever gets the point across I guess,” Kai laughed.
“Ooooh! Teach me that! I wanna learn that!” Mei said excitedly.
“Then you should probably meditate,” Kai said with a smile.

Well mediation wasn’t really going to plan, Mei had multiple outbursts, and Kai had erupted into flames more than once as a result. “Kai, was it?” Red Son asked, “you better not burn a hole through my roof.”
“It’s not like I'm trying to!” Kai retorted.
A strange clanking noise interrupted the two’s conversation, and Kai could see some small trees that were in pots russeling, Kai hopped down to investigate, flipping up his- slightly burnt- hood up, as he went to investigate, and igniting to fire balls in his hands.
Some sort of mud monster emerged from the other side of the trees- bushes? Know what, that was a problem for later. Kai burst into action, throwing a ball of fire at the would be intruder when- was that a frog on the mud monster’s head, that was also covered in mud.
Kai was shocked and stopped in his tracks. “You’ve got to be kidding me,” Red Son sighed, also jumping down, but before either Kai or Red Son could get a word in, Mei joined in yelling,
“A MUD MONSTER!” Mei yelped, a strange… illusion? Magic? Whatever it was it looked like a dragon and it shot fire at the mud monster, drying the mud into what was basically stone.
“What is with you two and being so loud and violent!?” Kai sighed, extinguishing the fire in his hands.
“MEI!?” Someone said, bursting out of what was basically stone and running over to Mei.
“Mei! You’re ok! You’re not on fire!” The stranger said, hugging the startled girl.
“Can someone please tell me what’s going on here?” Kai asked.
“Yeah, what are you doing here, noodle boy?” Red Son said, glaring at the kid who was hugging Mei.
“Feel like I am once again missing a lot of context,” Kai sighed.
“Mei, who’s this?” The stranger asked.
“Well, this is my new friend Kai, and Kai, this is my best friend MK!” Mei said with a smile.
“It’s nice to meet you?” Kai said.
“Nice to meet you too!” MK smiled.
Mei explained to MK how Red Son had been teaching her to harness the power of the Samadhi fire.
“Oh wait! The Lady Bone Demon!” MK said, “she’s after the Samadhi fire.”
“WHAT!?” Kai and Red Son Yelled in unison.
“And you came here!?” Red Son yelped.
“You might have led her right towards us!” Kai added.
Almost on cue the sky turned a dark blue color, something that looked like lightning flashed across the sky, before landing not far from where the group was standing, Kai took a step back, cautious, and unsure of what was going on.
A strange figure stood up, he was wearing some sort of armor, and looked like a giant monkey, tail and everything.
“Monkey King?” Mei said, almost surprised.
“No,” MK said, “not anymore.”
“It’s her, the lady bone demon, she possessed Wukong, just like she did with my father.”
“She, WHAT!?” Kai yelled.
“So, we meet again, son of the Demon Bull King,” a strange voice said, echoing across the sky, lightning flashed, and the shadow of girl appeared in the sky, before disappearing again, “you’re right, I never quite thanked you for freeing me from my prison, your father was a most fitting host for my power in the time we had. Wukong on the other hand, well, he’s something else.”
The stranger… Monkey King? Wukong? Kai wasn’t sure of his name, but he took a step forward, shattering the wood of the deck as he did so.
“So, we can’t beat him?” Kai guessed, his fists erupting into fire.
“No, but if the Lady Bone Demon gets the fire…” MK trailed off.
“That’s one other thing I must thank you for. Creating the samadhi fire, why without you, I would have never been able to fulfill my destiny!”
“We have to get out of here, now!” Red Son yelled, as Wukong appeared behind him. Without thinking Kai began to spin, his elemental powers creating a tornado of power around him, and he began to spin towards Wukong, surprising him with a kick to the gut that did… absolutely nothing.
“Why, that was unexpected, I’ve never seen a fire elemental use a move like that before!” The Lady Bone Demon said, as Wukong turned towards him, “Too bad that it’s too little too late,” She trilled, when suddenly a blast of red and black fire was shot straight at Wukong.
“Oh how could I forget, the girl.”
With a single hit Kai was flung straight at a wall. Kai fell to the ground.
“There's nowhere left to run! I can hardly believe you’d use the samadhi fire against your own friend, especially in a vain attempt to delay the inevitable. I’ve waited this long to fulfill my destiny, and I can’t bare to wait any longer! Bring her to me, NOW!” The Lady Bone Demon yelled, and Wukong shot forward, MK jumped infront of Mei, but was simply thrown aside, off of the balcony, into what could be assumed as certain death.
“MK?” Mei breathed, before shooting out a shockwave of power, and fire. Kai could feel his own powers flaring up, and was struck with an idea. He pushed himself to his feet, and made his way over to Mei, through the burning inferno of heat, attempting to try to use his powers to help push back Wukong. But his powers provided little to no help, and Wukong was able to grab a hold of Mei.
“Mei, no!” MK yelled, pulling himself back onto the balcony, and running towards his friend, but in a blast of ice Mei was frozen solid.
“NO!” But MK’s yells fell on deaf ears as in a blast of wind, Wukong and Mei had vanished.
“Dragon girl!” Red Son yelled, “we have to go after them!”
“Red Son, now is not a good time, we won’t get anywhere without a plan,” Kai sighed.
“Our only chance at victory just teleported away!” Red Son yelled.
“Kai has a point, if we go after them now, there's no chance we win,” MK Said.
“I guess you have a point, so I guess we’re gonna meet up with your whole group?”
MK nodded, “Let’s go meet up with the others”
