Summary
Shuri is so startled that she drops her glass. Vodka goes everywhere and she blinks at him, her eyes incredulous. His voice is deep with desire as he steps closer to her, hand clasping her elbow to steer her away from the broken glass.
“What are you—what?”
He’s becoming impatient. His face hardens, his gaze searching and strong.
“Shuri, you’re not fucking stupid.” She’s surprised at his use of a curse. He’s usually calm enough that she’s the one all worked up. “I’m not looking at you and thinking of scintillating conversation. We do enough of that.”
