Till squeezed Ivan’s body in closer at the mention of more strangers. He didn’t know why. Maybe just to feel Ivan breathing against him. Just to feel his breath, shallow, but there. Mizi’s gaze slid down to Ivan. She leaned over, caressing Ivan’s matted hair.
“I’m sorry we didn’t get to you earlier,” she said. “The plan was to turn it all off right at the start of the performance, but then Hyuna got shot and the firewall threw a wicked curveball our way, so there was a…” She shook her head. “And then suddenly the song was ending and-”
“The important thing is we got to them,” Hyuna interrupted, reaching over to squeeze her shoulder. “It’s gonna be okay now.”

Summary
Till is a normal 29-year-old man working a normal nine-to-five job in order to survive. Well, he isn’t entirely normal, since most men his age would’ve lost their virginity by now. He doesn’t mind being a virgin, though; it’s not like it’s severely affecting his life.
That is, until his 30th birthday.

All of me, huh? Could he do that? He'd done so much in secret for so long, it felt terrifying to drag it all into the light. But for Till? For himself and the chance that this time, maybe, they could be different?
"Yeah."
And then Till looked over his shoulder, caught Ivan's gaze and held it. "Thank you. I know I'm really late in saying it. But I'm also really, really happy that I still have the chance to say it at all."
Till believed Ivan died sacrificing himself for him. Ivan believed Till died in the fiery destruction of the Alien Stage.
And neither knew that the other survived.
Eight years later, Till has settled into caring for the children he'd rescued from the Alien Stage Museum with the help of the rest of the Rebellion, while Ivan continues working to fulfill what he believes would have been Till's last wish. When they're reunited, they have the chance to say everything they should have said once upon a time and to discover the mutual love that once eluded them. But only if they can overcome all the scars that mark them.
