“Okay,” Luffy says, in his best attempt at a whisper. He’s leaning forward over the middle console with a grin too big for his face. The brightest thing in Ace’s whole life, not that he’d ever say as much out loud. “You ready?”
“I can’t believe you talked me into this,” he says by way of answer, and Sabo laughs, and the three of them pile out of the car like a squad of Navy seals.

Summary
For as long as he can remember, he’s spent full moons alone in this room.
The door isn’t locked, but once he transforms, it doesn’t need to be. There used to be a basket tucked into the corner, full of soft blankets, but he tore that to shreds years ago. Now there’s usually a plate of meat put inside with him, scraps of wood and leather and canvas tied into knots, things to keep Ace busy for a few hours until he gets bored and starts clawing at the walls and window shutters.
This full moon, when Dadan tosses him through the door, she also tosses in Luffy.
