“Who’s this, darlin’?” asked a low, husky voice. He felt his cheeks heat up instantly at the pet name, but tried to hide it, knowing the voice and the muscular, shackled arm that had just slipped around his waist without having to even think about it.
He couldn’t help but smile as the man before him blanched, looking much less confident than he had five seconds ago. “Hey, Gid. This nice fella was just askin’ me for directions to the nearest inn, weren’t ya, friend?”
“Y-yeah,” the man stammered, “I was. C-couldja just tell me, and— and I’ll be gone…”
“Sure thing,” Kremy responded smoothly, quite enjoying this now that he had his favorite form of intimidation on his side: his husband. -
