Round 3: Canonverse Round!
Tropes
1.“Everyone else thinks you’re an asshole but you’re nice to me” or some variation of that trope
2.Trapped in or hiding in an enclosed space (ex: supply closet, elevator, etc.)
3.One character cautiously says “i’m going to kiss you now, okay?” or some variation of that
4.In canon, make at least one character of your main ship switch places with someone else. You can do this however you like. For example, if you decide to make Luna the commander, you do not necessarily have to make Lexa the ‘Luna’ character. You can swap someone out and leave the other character out entirely. You can also have your main ship switch places, such as Bellamy being ark royalty and Clarke being in Bellamy’s position on the ark instead. The main premise of this trope is that at least one character of your main ship must be in the position of another canon character, and it must be clear who they are swapped with. (This is not an action based trope.)This event was held Spring 2019!

THIS IS AN ANONYMOUS CHALLENGE!
That’s right. A fan fiction challenge just for writers for The 100 fandom!! Heres how it works!
First, we are compiling a list of fan fiction tropes! Help us come up with some here!!! Just add to the list any fic trope you don’t see already (try not to repeat them!) We need as many as we can possibly get, because that helps us with step two…
The Challenge!
There will be four (4) rounds of this challenge. The first three rounds will have a theme, a general fic type, that you must comply with, and you will be given a ‘mystery basket’ of four (4) fic tropes that you must use in your fic! The tropes will come from the list above, which will be plugged into a randomiser to spit out the tropes for us!Round 1: Fluff Round!

Each of these rounds will be open to anyone and everyone who wants to play! No sign up required! We will spit out the tropes, and you will have five (5) days to write your fic! Submit before the deadline, and there will be a 48 hour voting period! (Thats right, no judges!) After the first three rounds are over, and the voting has been completed, there will be a…
The 100 Chopped Challenge Championship Round!
The rules for this round are simple! The three winners of rounds 1 through 3 (if you are in the top three more than once, we will include fourth, fifth, etc!) will compete in a championship round! These nine (9) competitors will be given a ‘mystery basket’ of six (6) tropes, and will have ONE WEEK to write a fic! You must include all the tropes in your fic, but there is no theme or general plot you have to follow! After the week, there will be a 72 hour voting period, and the Chopped Champion will be announced!!The voting for the rounds will be based on the use of the tropes, and the fic as a whole. Each round will have a category for each trope, where voters will pick their top three fics for the use of each trope, and their top three fics over all. The top three fics over all from each category will move on, but the winners for ‘best use of tropes’ will be announced each round!
In the final round, we will announce the winner for best use of each trope, and the top three fics in the over all category.
The requirements for the fics entered into the competition will be:
Must be The 100
Must fit the theme of the round (for rounds 1-3)
Must use ALL of the tropes selected for each round. If you don’t use the tropes, it will result in disqualification!
All fics must be between 1,000 and 10,000 words!
Any rating is allowed, G through E, but please be aware that some smut fics may not be everyone’s thing! Please write what you like, but it the voting is public so just keep that in mind!
You will be disqualified if you include:Rape!
Underage! (This means no high school AU with sex, no teacher/student if the student is underage, zero adult/under 18 relationships!)
Incest! (incest includes adopted siblings, parent/child, biological siblings, or any familial relationship, blood related or not!).
Negativity towards any character!
This post is just to sort of gauge general interest, and lay out our plan if anyone has any ideas for what else we can do!If you’d be interested in participating, reblog, share, spread the word! We’d like to have as many possible fics as we can! And please spread to writers for less popular ships, we’d love to help flood our AO3 tag with fics for all the ships! Reminder, all fic tropes will be randomised! We will reselect if the trope is selected more than once, so each round will have something different, so we can have a lot of variety! Also, there is no requirement to participate in any round, obviously! if the tropes don’t speak to you, hopefully another round will inspire you!
We will come up with tags for the competition as we get closer, and more specific rules about where to submit them, and how voting will happen, but please spread the word if you are interested!
