There are so many ways it could have happened differently, or not at all. Maybe Kurt got held up in traffic and wasn’t on that particular staircase at that particular time. Maybe he got caught before he made it that far into the school. Maybe he tapped on somebody else’s shoulder. Maybe Blaine was out with flu that day.
