Slight canon divergence as Fiyero meets Elphaba and very quickly becomes aware of the hell the green girl is going through. He takes an active role to change this and live blossoms.

“It’s most important to me that you want to.”
Elphaba shifts nervously against the pillow. She opens her mouth to say something, to deflect, but then Fiyero is pushing himself up and settling down at her side, eye-level. His hand comes up and holds her cheek. When he does things like that, he can see that feral, defensive part of her brain weaken. “What’s worrying you, Fae?” he mumbles, and there’s so much love in the way she stares back at him that he can almost feel her walls shake.
She takes a deep breath. “I’m scared that… that you won’t like it. And then where would that leave us?”
