Summary
But, for now, just for now, Katsuki can take something with him. A memory. A taste of what's to come, if he's brave enough to wait for Izuku. It's painfully poetic—this bittersweet moment of having the future he's always dreamed of in the palm of his hand, just to know he has to let it go soon.
***
When a villain sends 25-year-old Katsuki ten years into the future, he's heartbroken to discover that Izuku is married. But when more of the truth comes to light, everything shifts. Can Katsuki find the strength to wait for the future he's always dreamed of?

Summary
"We're really sorry," his father says, in a teary-eyed, wobbly way. "But your friend, Izuku, he's... He's gone, son."
Katsuki can do nothing but blink up at them for moments that feel like an eternity, eyes darting between both his parents in obvious confusion, disbelief, and, more than anything, indignation.
"What the fuck are you two talking about? The damn nerd is standing right beside you!"During a battle, Midoriya gets hit by a villain whose quirk detaches his soul from his body. Stuck in a ghost-like state, the boy enters a race against time in order to save himself from permanently dying. Much to his luck - or lack of it -, the only person who can see and talk to him in this state is no one other than Kacchan.
Alternatively: Deku and Kacchan are soulbound.

After-Fight Affair: Pro Heroes Dynamight and Deku Caught In Scandalous On-Scene Hook Up
Katsuki blinked. Read the words. Read them again.
“…what the HELL?!?!”
Pops of light flared around him, and Shinso took a wary step back.
“WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCKING HELL?!”
Izuku was making a wheezing noise that sounded vaguely like a tea kettle.
Todoroki frowned as he read the headline over their shoulders, and asked with his usual even inflection, “You had sex while on duty?”
Katsuki fucking exploded.
Life is looking up for Katsuki in the months since Izuku received his hero suit. He’s soared back up the ranks to number five, he’s got a new car, a new apartment, and he’s chasing Deku’s heels once again. Even with the nerd turning down his agency invitation, working together is everything he’d dreamed over the last eight years.
But a new threat is growing stronger in the darkness of society, and when a gossip website accuses Deku and Dynamight of hooking up at the scene of an incident, they have to fight for both their reputations and the lives of the people they’ve sworn to protect.

Summary
The students of class 1A are about to step forward as adults in a world that still needs heroes. How will Izuku Midoriya adjust to a future in which he is quirkless? How will he and his childhood friend, his ride or die, his true soulmate Katsuki Bakugou move forward together when their paths are so divergent?
Edit: This fic will examine themes around codependency, PTSD, making naive and sometimes toxic choices regarding relationships. I know many don't want to see their favorite character making dumb or willfully ignorant choices, but we will be exploring that here in great length just as a head's up :)
