“I fail to understand why you continue to pester me,” D’fhiri grumbled, stalking north towards Fanow. Emet-Selch dragged his feet behind her in interminable pursuit. “Surely there is better company to keep elsewhere.”
“And miss your deeds and misadventures?” His words held the cadence of a sardonic joke, with none the humor. “On the contrary, Warrior. If I am to while away the minutes with anyone, I would rather it be you.”
“And why is that?”
He took so long to answer the question that she almost forgot she had asked.
“You are simply good company.”
During a moment of shared vulnerability, the Warrior of Light discovers that Emet-Selch harbors attraction towards her. Resolving to use this knowledge to further the Scions' cause, she decides to seduce him.

This is a re-write of FFXIVWrite 2023 prompts to include / revolve mainly around my Warrior of Light Mielikki Metsalainen. This work may contain spoilers for Final Fantasy XIV Online's story and quests. This is intended to be a fun challenge for me, and not a finished masterpiece.
