Summary
The cards had been set, collected throughout many rounds that had gone on for too long. Everyone is restless, ready to disembark and tear the insignia that had chained them down for all their years spent in this caged war.
They won't be made as a sacrifice to a madman's delirious worship to the godforsaken moon, no more will their be life just a number in the ledgers of the Empire's casualty.
But there was more to be concerned of than that, and it's the inevitable sacrifice that both the Tribunus and the Primus has to pay should they decide to continue on this path.

Summary
Imagine, very many years from now, an ancient house: solid stone, richly appointed, eaves creaking in the wintry winds. A young person climbs a narrow set of stairs to the attic, where generations of her family have stored the combined remnants of their lives. She swiftly passes many dusty artefacts to kneel before a sealed chest: chalcocite, studded with polished larimar, with a broken lock that no longer catches quite right. She tips back the lid, shines her lantern upon the contents . . .

Summary
“S-Sir… Are you…?” Saga finally placed his hand on him, pulling him by the shoulder and then guiding him to hook an arm over the other. Gently too… There’s that gentleness that he is grateful Saga would spare to someone like him.
“Am indeeeeeeed drunk!” Zoticus hiccuped, slumping slightly due to the difference of their heights. Which made it difficult for them to walk at all, he find himself stumbling over his own legs, often Saga’s as well. “Mmm, they’v keep givin me drinks and shhhite and-” He hiccuped again, now with an hand flailing to gesture his frustration, “-toASTin’ fer nothin’! Well… T’was fer Nael but…” He grumbled, it’s all he can do with his mind going nowhere with the conversation.
“Uhh, well, um, can you… walk at all?”
“Shore ah can!”
And as an example, Zoticus almost pulled them down to kiss the ground. But luckily, Saga was strong enough to keep them both from even tipping too far down toward the floor to truly fall. The sensation did lags behind for the Tribunus, however, and he find himself giggling at it. That seems to be prove enough for Saga to consider that he indeed cannot walk and must be escorted out. So, without further questioning, Saga sighed and devised a plan..

Summary
It was a risky thing to ask, it would give... perhaps... an obvious hint to this unresolved feelings he's had. But it was worth just asking, isn't it? Especially if he paid it forward with something sweet.
A rarity to be had for those under him, a fitting bribe to pry into a past he hadn't seen.

Summary
"You spoke of the cycle of life and death. If that holds true, if there is something beyond these mortal chains, then I hope we will meet again. Under different faces, different names, perhaps. You said our souls would know one another. In that case…
I hope to meet you by the sea.”
Or: A young soldier seizes what she wants, and dives eyes wide open into the slow choking of the people she loves. An ancient soul crawls upon the earth, and corrupts all he embraces. Nations rise, and fall, and rot.

Summary
"Many wondered how Garlemald could allow such devastation that befalls Bozja to be recreated upon Eorzea. Of course, the Agrius' fall were a widely known motivator that leads up to such event. But that's the point of it all, no one can stand such calamity to be enacted upon Eorzea. Everyone in the Senaculum has their own agenda, the hearings were all but to see what plan they could weave to their benefit, it was ultimately expected for the Emperor- at that moment- to whom he would favor his decision to. So what was the point of watching the hearing in the first place? Aside from obligation, there's a vantage point within the building that would allow one to see which actors could be plucked to play the supporting part in their little plays. Major ones at that... Beside, it's a good lesson in practice to the Legion's politics."

Summary
Saga isn't sure where his place is in the grand scheme of things. Is he a lamb set for slaughter? Is he plucked from the very pit of despair only to be thrusted into it? Is he merely a pawn to be sacrificed?
Either way, he had not intention of staying and find out...
That was the plan, until the same Tribunus who had given him the order to pull the trigger blocked his path.

Summary
"And so the Empire's campaign to Eorzea begun. The Agrius' shadows looms over the SilverTear Lake, where the primordial source of aether lies. Dragons swarmed the vessel, a measly fodder for the great ship's might. Then... Came the Progenitor of Dragon. Midgardsormmr, in all his might, came to put an end to the Agrius' threat and sacrificed himself for its demise.
It was to be the Empire's greatest failure yet, but to make sure of that, there needs be no survivor. So it was Nael's plan to make sure the reports fit his narrative, so that he might curry the Empire's favor. Those who did the culling? Have no other ways but to remain silent and obey Nael, lest their name will be listed in the obituaries.
He's a clever one, but not observant enough to agents within his ranks, nor would he care what happen to a measly Manipulus worth of troops should anything befall or revealed to them."

Summary
"There were plenty of suitable candidates for such missions, though it was a chance to further prove the Sagittarius' capability. Can he adapt at a moment of uncertainty? Can he play the role assigned to him? Can he pretend, for a moment, to be someone he's not?
My confidence, at the time, was rooted in my hopes for him. For the potential he bears as a man whose seen the hells I've seen, for what he could become.
Deep down, I know this is a hard gamble. One that, at a wrong turn- a wrong step taken-, might cost more than just my life. But it's worth the cost should it resulted in the last piece of gear to be put into place. The last I'll need before our true debut."

Summary
"There's a difference in the way the Empire handle cases of defection. Garleans defection are handled with much care, much personal. Some were seen far more fondly, a figure of legend. Others were easily silenced by their own. But provincial conscripts defections were treated like a bounty, a way to gain merit in the Empire. To turn on your own kin for the betterment of the Empire is not only encouraged, but land you promotions. Rewards. The dirtier the job, the more infamous you become to your fellow conscripts, and the more fame you gained from the high ranking officers whom you helped unconditionally. Eventually, they'll come to depend on you for 'sensitive' cases, that's when you start charging. Start small, then bigger. A better food today and in the following moons, a promotion. It comes with benefits for both parties after all, they'll just have to believe it."

Summary
Why did he do this? Well, Zoticus thought back to how little he knew of the Raen aside from his condition. Malnutrition, given no proper care, and most of all, just lack of self-identity. He’s like an unfeeling robot waiting for nothing but directives from his masters, and there was nothing else to it. No human to really learn from, not a person behind those eyes.
But maybe. Just maybe, this might be it. This might be what show Zoticus who Saga Abumi really is, outside the case files, the rumors, and the accounts from what little and few people there is who knew of him.
