In most universes, most of the cutthroat courtly politics and feuds of Alderaan vanished over four centuries after the Ruusan Reformation.
The monarch’s council works together mostly harmoniously, with little attention paid to self interest and vaunted for its altruism and devotion to its people.
This is not those universes.
In most universes, the tradition of the rulers of Alderaan having harems died out about six centuries before the rise of Palpatine’s Empire.
In this one, it really hasn’t.
Most of the monarchs pick their harems for appealing traits. Pretty faces, muscles, gorgeous eyes, and… unusual fetishes.
Queen Breha Organa is not most monarchs.
