Fourteen-year-old Finnick Odair always imagined the Games as something far off—distant, inevitable, but not yet real. Then one ordinary day, he meets Annie Cresta. Suddenly, everything shifts. As Finnick grapples with feelings he's never faced before, the world around him lurches toward chaos. What happens when first love collides with the weight of everything to come?
Events prior to Finnick's Games, but prior to the 74th Games.
