Summary
pi-o has hated his stepbrother jeong-yo for as long as he's had the vocabulary for it. jeong-yo is older, effortlessly brilliant, their grandfather's favorite, and he makes sure pi-o never forgets it. but when pi-o can't sleep and hears a sound through the wall, he finds out exactly what jeong-yo does in the dark with a laptop and a hand fisted around his cock. and exactly whose name he moans when he comes.
pi-o runs to the only place in the mansion that feels safe. the private family chapel. he's on his knees, mid-prayer, when the door opens behind him. jeong-yo doesn't believe in any of it. not the hymns, not the guilt, not the god pi-o is begging for forgiveness from. but he's more than willing to use all of it against him.
or: jeong-yo fucks his religious little stepbrother in front of the cross, and pi-o learns what it actually means to be ruined.

He continues, “I’m going to make you feel every bit of pain, rage, and betrayal that I went through.”
His eyes are burning with hate. Pio gulps, trying to rein himself in. He told himself he was ready to handle Jeongyo’s resentment, but he didn’t anticipate how much it would hurt. Pio's chest is burning from the inside out. The pain spreads through his very being, engulfing his heart and holding it hostage, slowly ripping his blood vessels apart.
It’s a familiar feeling.
Jeongyo must sense Pio’s inner turmoil because he starts to smirk, the outer corner of his lips quirking up. He tilts his head to the side. “Cat got your tongue, Mr. Kang?”
The other man’s eyes drill into his very soul, as if he can see every single one of Pio’s frayed nerves. He remembers being on the receiving end of Jeongyo’s gaze many times in high school, but the circumstances had been vastly different then. Before, Jeongyo’s smiles felt like the sun itself had gained autonomy and decided to thaw his frozen heart. Now, it only unnerves him. And yet.
Pio can’t help but stare.
