Summary
She doesn’t even get to order the damned beer before there’s a blood-curdling scream from upstairs, and she’s off like a shot.
Halfway up, she’s met by none other than Madam Rio, and Rio looks fit to kill. Agatha has the fleeting notion she’s about to be shoved down the stairs and instinctively sidesteps as Rio gets close.
“That you screamin’?” she asks.
“You don’t know my scream by now?” Rio snaps.
Agatha hooks her thumbs in her belt loops and puffs out her cheeks. “I s’pose y’do it often enough, I ought to know it. What’s wrong this time?”

Agatha Harkness is the sheriff of Westview, a small town that flourishes due to the whorehouse above the saloon. Now, Agatha’s not against the idea of the sex industry providing the funds to pay her salary and keep her comfortable… she just can’t fucking stand Madam Rio Vidal, the infuriating, reckless, devil-may-care woman who runs the business. Rio doesn’t listen, doesn’t respect Agatha and doesn’t take no for an answer. But when something threatens the town in general and Rio specifically, Agatha will have to put her feelings aside, or at least find a way to make their antagonism work in her favor to protect Rio and preserve their way of life. -

Summary
“Lady Death?” the woman spoke, stopping a foot away from her and fuck the voice just added to her attraction. Her arms were crossed and only then did Rio realize the woman had fixed her piercing blue eyes to her face, not particularly looking happy.
“Not what I usually go by but yeah, that’s me. What’s a pretty lady like you wanting to know about me?” Rio replied, wanting to appease the woman but still confused about what was going on.

Summary
The camera followed Vidal as she returned to her bag and pulled out a bottle of water, speaking quietly to a linesman who approached her with an umbrella for shade.
Agatha expected her to take a swig, she couldn’t imagine how thirsty she must be after playing in this heat, but instead she closed her eyes, tilted her head back and squeezed the water over her face.
Agatha’s eyes widened. She was suddenly grateful for the sunglasses hiding half her face.
Vidal shook the droplets off and then lifted the hem of her shirt to wipe the excess from her chin, briefly exposing her abs and the bottom of her sports bra.
Agatha was finally starting to understand the appeal of this game.

Summary
Chicago FC is a mid-level NWSL team, struggling to climb out of mediocrity after years of disappointing seasons. Club legend and captain Agatha Harkness has spent her career leading from the midfield, keeping the team together through every rebuild, every near-miss, and every heartbreak.
Then Rio Vidal arrives, a star signing from Barcelona, full of talent, confidence, and a disregard for authority. From the moment they meet, sparks fly. Not the good kind. The bad, impossible-to-ignore kind. Agatha wants to assert her dominance; Rio wants to challenge it. The rest of the team can only watch as the two collide on and off the pitch.
It’s a rivalry built on pride, ambition, and sheer stubbornness… and maybe, just maybe, something more.

Summary
Agatha lives alone on the cattle ranch she inherited too young, too stubborn, and too angry to ever leave. She's built a quiet life there, fence posts, coffee at dawn, hard work that leaves her too tired to want anything more. Until Rio Vidal shows up on the edge of her property with a field kit and a research grant.
Rio is calm, focused, quietly competent and clearly out of place in the dust and heat. But she stays. And Agatha, who’s spent her whole life guarding softness like it’s weakness, finds herself watching.
Through storms, silence, cattle, and coffee, they find something slow and steady between them. Something that doesn't need to be named to be real.
