Look, she’s the first to admit all of this could’ve been avoided. Tatum’s got a great relationship with her father and it’s always been natural for her to talk to him about her dating life, too. He’s always been helpful and understanding and genuine, though sometimes maybe a little too invested, and she knows he would’ve understood if she’d told him that she and Leighton ended things.
But then it’s early May, and he tells her he can’t wait to see her and Leighton at his annual birthday barbecue next weekend, and Tatum realizes she's gonna have to talk to Leighton and figure this out.
OR: Tatum and Leighton both conveniently forget to tell their fathers they broke up and spend a day out on Long Island together.
