"Believe it, Sylvie. Because I broke him. I took the most incredibly kind, gentle person in existence, and I broke him without even trying."
When the TVA is attacked, Loki, Mobius, and Casey are forced to Earth, 1996. Mobius’ timeline. Waiting for rescue, the trio finds comfort (and trouble) in the human experience. Mobius and Loki find each other. But will Loki's lies tear them apart? More importantly, will Casey ever meet a fish?
This is a rom-com, action/adventure drama! Prepare for 90's nostalgia, a healthy romp in the sand, angst, pining, drunken confessions, misused magic, and a full-fledged Mobius backstory.
SLOW BURN
This is a 250k+ words…the SLOWEST slow burn. You've been warned!WARNINGS
Explicit sex, discussions of suicide/death, LGBTQIA+ prejudice, depression, alcohol use, injury and panic attacks.EM DASHES AND AI
I do not use AI in my stories. I do, however, use em dashes. I have a degree in journalism and a minor in graphic design. I learned to use dashes, en and em dashes regularly at work and in my writing well before AI. Lately I’ve heard people dismiss writers for em dash use. To that, I say: let my excessive dramatic em dashes be free! -

"Loki, please, just get back to work. Who knows what’ll happen after we catch this guy, but maybe we can figure somethi-”
“Mobius, there is no ‘figuring something out’. You say you know me, but I know power. After you find this Variant, I won’t have enough to bargain with anymore. The Time Keepers won’t want me after we're done. I'm a threat. And they're right. I'll kill them at the first opportunity.”
Mobius flinched at the mental image of Loki killing the keepers, but he knew he was being honest.
Loki continued, “After we’re done, you'll get the victor's parade- ‘Oh, clever Mobius, the hero of the TVA’, and I'll turn to vapor.”
That was exactly the plan. For a moment, the gray curtain of bureaucracy lifted and Mobius saw something more than the paperwork and signatures. He saw Loki. This Loki wasn’t just a video anymore. This Loki knew his name. He was asking -or threatening- him for help. Was he really going to delete him? Could he actually do it?
-
A branched timeline where Loki and Mobius form an alliance to figure out who they are individually and to each other without the TVA. Nexus event: Loki steals a file he shouldn't have and learns a hard truth.

5+1. The 5 times Loki thought Mobius being nice to him was a trick and the 1 time he didn't.
Or Loki is touch starved and has a praise kink. Mobius won’t stop touching him. And complimenting him. It’s becoming a problem.
