Summary
Nights are the hardest for Ritsuka. But not because of the piercing December cold, or the sleeping Kedama cuddled up against his side in an uncomfortable (but too cute to resist) manner. It’s because Mafuyu, his boyfriend, keeps whispering the name of his late ex-boyfriend in his sleep, while he hugs Ritsuka’s back.

Summary
It slowly suffocated him, how on edge he felt the longer they went on. Mafuyu being his feels right, but something is amiss, wrong. He tried so hard to figure it out, to keep the gnawing anxiety from consuming him.
And it was only when Mafuyu’s mom bid him a soft goodbye, telling him to drop by again, that he realized what it was:
His own parents didn’t know.

Mafuyu’s soft voice, in a tone not unfamiliar but quite suggestive, makes Uenoyama snap his head back towards his partner, “I know of another way for us to spend time together.” The man currently entrapped in his fingers swallows, and the owner of that sultry voice follows the movement of his Adam's apple, licking his own lips as if ready to take a bite.
“Are you sure? You aren’t tired after today?” Uenoyama gently breathes out, finally resuming the movement of his hand to tuck a loose strand of hair behind Mafuyu’s ear. He lets his fingers lazily drag through his soft, slightly damp hair.
He responds with a faint shake of his head, “I prepared.”

Mafuyu grunted an affirmative and slowly pulled himself up off the couch. Ue watched him go, his face soft. He took the opportunity to browse for rings online.
His heart was beating faster than normal and he realized just how excited the prospect of matching rings made him. “Married in spirit,” just like Haruki had said about him and Kaji. So, was he… proposing?

Summary
The rumbling train tracks remind him that life demands to push forward not only today, but everyday. It is faster than he might like at times, but unavoidable. Necessary. Sometimes painful. But there is no going back—his life moves forward, whether he likes it or not, and this half-asleep boy with the blushing face and wide eyes the same color as his scarf is the biggest reason this fact is no longer paralyzing.
