She did not hear when the music started, but felt a tremor travel down her body when the hand he held on her waist slid up her back. Maria couldn’t avoid the surprised sigh that left her mouth. She had danced countless times, but no touch, of any woman or man, had ever made her blood pulsate the way he did. The smile that started to spread against his lips made her even more frustrated.
Maria felt her mouth dry. She wanted to be near him, be touched by him and desperately touch him back. And he knew. That’s why his hands lingered on her waist, starting a fire that burned fiercely, consuming her insides.
