“So, Skye, tell us about yourself, what brought you here?” Phil said as he began the official interview once Skye had ordered.
They stilled, before confidently telling their pre-planned story. “Well, currently I’m quite interested in computer science.” True. “I recently came to this area, moved across town, and I’m looking for a more stable income to help support myself.” Also true. “I found SHIELD online and HQ seemed like an ideal place to do work. Where I came from, people weren’t so accepting, so it was refreshing to come here, where most people get it.” Also true. Skye was killing it with their skirting of the whole living in a van, taking random online hacking jobs for money, ran away from their orphanage thing. “I was talking with my new friends here, and they suggested that there might be space here for another worker, so here I am.” They put a big innocent smile on their face, hoping they wouldn’t be interrogated about the story.

Skye runs away from their orphanage and everyone who sees them says, "Mine now."
